I'm not sure what i'm seeing?

Hello, I'm pretty new to this forum. I had just started to attempt practicing and learning how to AP for a couple weeks now. I was actually successfully able to project once using techniques after awakening from sleep. A few days ago, i noticed that when i walked past a few rooms i was able to see what seemed to look like purple static in my peripheral vision that seemed to fill the doorways. Keep in mind that it was somewhat but not completely dark in my house. I wasn't completely sure what i was seeing so last night i spent some time trying to focus in on what i was seeing by laying on my back and staring at my ceiling and into the space above my body with the lights off at night. I started noticing what began to appear as spinning snowflakes of color but as i focused more intently, it changed into what seemed to be triangular shapes moving through my walls and ceilings at very fast speeds that what transition between green, red, and blue. Also, as this became easier to spot, i began to see bright specs that didn't seem to move accompanying what i had already been seeing. Does anyone know what i'm seeing? Also, if this post should be posted elsewhere, please let me know! Thanks

I'm not sure if it's energy you are seeing, it sounds like a very common occurrence when one looks into a dark environment any length of time.  You mind is trying to fit a visual with what you think you are seeing.   It may not be energy, but it's still fun to look at.

Actually, this reminds me of something I've experienced three times. It has occurred randomly over the last three years or so that occasionally I would see what look like little silver (reflecting) bits of glitter in the air. At first I am always convinced my eyes are playing tricks on me but closing and re-opening my eyes doesn't make it go away and my sight is also extremely clear in these moments. These experiences usually last about 30 seconds and are quite fascinating to me but like I said, it's only happened about three times.

Maybe this is somehow related?

I think that in many cases it's that by practicing AP you increase/expand your awareness of things you normally weren't aware of. This doesn't necessarily mean it's "energy" or something paranormal, but it shows that you're becoming more aware, and that's a good thing.

Makes sense. But I've never consciously projected so that's probably not what's happening for me.

Are you focusing a lot on your third eye or your forehead?

Not me. The first time this happened was before I even got into any "spiritual stuff".

Yeah, especially on a sunny day you can really see the prana . But what the other guy saw with the colors, etc...wondering if he is focusing on his minds eye.

Oh my thanks for the replies! I actually thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me as well but just the other day, I was actually able to see the flow of colors quite clearly. For example, i can simply see it now without taking that much concentration and focus. I could stand face to face with the wall and still see the colors so i'm pretty sure that its not just my eyes playing tricks on me, though correct me if i'm wrong. I'm also completely unfamiliar with the "third eye", "mind's eye", etc.

the first time i was able to focus on these colors, i actually saw what appeared to be glittery specs on the air for a good minute. maybe i'm seeing what you've seen?

no, but months before i had knowledge of obe's and this site, i had learned that a family member of mine could see auras, and i attempted to learn to see them myself. from this i wasnt able to see auras around people but i did start to notice purple along grass, trees, the streets, etc. mainly as i was driving. i can see purple outlining street lights and such that apparently my friends cannot see. not sure if this holds any significance.

If it's night time when you are seeing the aura around street lights, that is totally normal.  Any kind of light source that you can look at directly will have that ring around it.

I think I know what he's referring to and I'm on the fence as to if it's some sort of normal function of how the human eye works... or if it's some metaphysical thing.

If I wave my hand in front of my face, I can see what's best described as a "trail-image" following closely behind it.
For me it's generally colourless... but there are times when it has a deep purple hue to it.

So yeah... not entirely sure what's going on with it.  Maybe someone more biologically inclined might have an answer.

My hand will only do that if I've taken shrooms, and I swore after the first time of taking them, I'd never do that again.    I do see what your saying though.  You're right, perhaps someone else can give a little more biological reason for it.
