I'm not sure what i'm seeing?

I think a lot of what people take as "auras" is actually the afterimage/complimentary color of what you're looking at. But noticing this is good practice in awareness and the inner process of seeing, and can eventually lead to other ways of perceiving.

well i dont believe this is aura related, correct me if im wrong cause again im real new to this, because the colors that i see are like an infinite number of triangular flakes that seem to flow from the ground up. i could pick an individual flake and watch flow from the floor and across the ceiling. i can see it on almost everything too if i attempt to focus on it whether its daytime or nighttime. i specified that i had seen red, purple and blue, but last night i saw yellow flakes flowing through my white kitchen counter tile. also what is the minds eye, third eye, etc? does being more aware relate to opening your third eye?

Whatever they are, first things first... get it checked out by an optometrist.  Make sure there is nothing physically wrong with your eyes before jumping to metaphysical reasons.

I was told once by a man in the astral, that I wasn't hard to find because I was surrounded in purple.  I love purple.

I think I know what he's referring to and I'm on the fence as to if it's some sort of normal function of how the human eye works... or if it's some metaphysical thing.

If I wave my hand in front of my face, I can see what's best described as a "trail-image" following closely behind it.
For me it's generally colourless... but there are times when it has a deep purple hue to it.

So yeah... not entirely sure what's going on with it.  Maybe someone more biologically inclined might have an answer. 

  It's normal if it doesn't linger too much.  If however, it resembles what Nay said, you may be suffering from something called 'depersonalization'.  Knowing what I know about you I doubt it, you're just noticing normal eye effects (phosphenic after images, etc.)
We all did it when we were kids, and then grew out of it when other things distracted us, and when we start doing consciousness-opening things, we start to notice them again.   
Like a second childhood.
