While phasing in my early days I had an idea for some information to test a theory on predicting the near future very accurately. So an intense intent was created for this and nothing happened at all.
Then six days later I was given my previous desire.
I 'observed' an aircraft and everything in connection with it as it had a serious problem in what was an incredibly lucid dream. The smells, noises, sounds and the passengers. Along with this I experienced all their feelings too. This part was new to me and I stayed with it wondering what its all about.
Then the event became very serious and the bird was sinking like a brick.(engine trouble)
Seeing everything in detail that happens from everyone there as if you were each person had a sting to it. I had absolutely no control of anything and was possessed by this. Then the face masks dropped and the emotions started in everyone as they knew their fate. I couldn't wake out of it and saw the craft hit the ground. I was inside it, outside it, an observer in the area. The emotional turmoil of all was too much to take and I told no-one anything for days. My brother I trusted this info to on day 5 and he looked at me strangely. The next day the newsflash appeared as a disaster. Every detail was to perfection.
This carried on happening for many years and is not as strong now. I don't know anyone in these 'dreams' apart from one friend who I last saw in 1977. I knew of something but couldn't say what at that time.. He went to America in one of two towers.....
You dont want really want that as a gift if you only thought about a simple newsflash premonition.
Thats the reality of it. Its not like borrowing money for a new car.
The ' astral' is immense and it kicked me in the face with this.
The strangest thing is I was recalling all the incidents I 'observed' before they actually occured trying to remember how many of them and your post appeared.

I empathis as I went through exactly the same for several months. Even to extent of seeing people in my family being taken to hospital etc. Very distressing.
The only difference for me was that it wasn't occurring in dreams but in a waking state, IE as my clairvoyance was awakening.
I resolved never to look at any more unfolding events in my minds eye and also asked who ever might be projecting those images to me to pack it (as I sensed that the spirit world were trying to gain my trust and belief in my ability but also the possibility that we can see the future) in and it stopped. I also decided that I was going make sure my clairvoyance happened when my eyes where open as I felt i then had more control over the premonitions.
Several years on and my clairvoyance and third eye is more open than ever but none of the horrible stuff.
I hate to mention it but you did put an intent out there as you stated, but im sure you didn't expect that!.
I believe is true that we should ideally seek to grow spiritually in our outlook and understanding before we look to unlock sensitivities and subtle powers and that those scenes should really and ideally be a result of our spiritual unfoldmenet.
But back to our friend wanting remote third eye opening...i think its unlikely that you would experience any problems if you approach it in a gentle and loving way.
