Oh yes, highly auspicious that one!!!

Asked a Kiwi girl once about hers (stone pendant that is) while vainly attempting to chat her up, and she explained they can be quite rare and really lucky things to have especially if given and received as a gift (take with pinch of salt if you wish).

The greenstone used by Maori(pronounced Mo-Rree) peoples of New Zealand is a local variety of Jade.  The Tahunga (sort of medicine person) usually carves a specific design for each individual and while doing so they will instill it with whatever forces are required.... for instance, protection.  According to tradition it is bad luck to wear another persons stone carving.  Interestingly, whale bone is also carved in these traditional ways and for individual needs.

The little green Jade carvings can also be much like the Hawaiian Tiki, due to the common ancestors of each group.

I dont know much about crystals and stones.

I was given a pendant from newzieland recently(dont know much about spelling either!). Its made of green stone from the south islands
I was told its a very precious and spiritual stone for the maures, and will provide protection and good luck etc.

Does any one know about the green stone?
