I'm planning on joining a gym as soon as i start a new job. Its one of those typical corperate chain gyms with the happy-go-lucky trainers and high tech equipment lol. It also provides some free classes, one of which is Yoga. I'm not quite sure what type of Yoga it is, i havnt looked into it properly yet.

I'm just wondering if theres anything i should expect?... im afraid it'll be one of those fad polluted things so that its changed to suit the type of people who arnt in it for spiritual growth.. if thats even possible?

Well if it's held in a gym it's likely to not have too much spirituality in it as people who go to gyms generally just want to train their body.

If the class is free with no obligations then it could not hurt to attend at least one class to see what it is really like. You might enjoy it. If not, you can look around for another class that might suite you better. But you won't know until you try.

I think that its really good that spiritual pursuits are becoming more a part of mainstream society. Means we're starting to look for something more than what the material world offers.

More and more gyms are offering yoga and meditation classes, which is great! To me it means they're now focussing on more than just physical wellbeing.

9 times out of 10, yoga at a mainstream gym will simply focus on poses and breathing.  It is given as a strength and flexiblity class, not a spiritual class.  Not that it is a bad thing though.
