Hi all hope someone can help me. There have been occurrences over the years where i have been able to feel individuals negative energy not only when in their presence but over distance say over the phone. But in person when i feel someones negative energy especially if it is directed to me it comes over as a wave almost a mild breeze that i can feel mostly in my solar plexus region.

When this happens my heart starts beating faster and i just know that something is wrong.

I have meditated for many years using visualisation and mantras to goal set also i have in the past visualised a glowing energy around me as protection, but is there anything else that i can try to protect me from that feeling that i get when a negative situation??

1. If it is a discarnate, tell it to go to friends or relatives. Say to it to at least look in the direction of those people or look for the light.
2. If it doesn't leave, tell it to leave as it has nothing to do at you or with you.
3. Ask guides for help and direction. Be open to whatever comes.

You've become conscious of the feelings, now you have to have the right relationship with them. By being mindful, you can put them to a halt before they take over. It's OK to notice, but unconscious reaction can be put to a stop through being mindful of thoughts and feelings. And I know, it's easier said than done, but it gets easier and more instinctive with practice.

Ok thanks, i think. If i wasn't already confused as to what else to do i am now. Sensing them feelings when in someones presence is as i understand it their negative aura that i can feel, when the oposite applies i.e. positive aura its not a problem.

Hi, Im new to all this and as a newbie Im hoping that somebody can please explain the answers here to Blidges question. There are words I don't even understand let alone try to decipher the answers. Sorry if Im being a bit 'stupid' but Im trying to gain knowledge and this doesn't make any sense to me.

I'll try simpler:

When you experience bad feelings coming off of someone else, it's doesn't have to make you feel bad too. With practice, you can remain passive to the negativity so it doesn't effect you and drag you down.

I have the same issue and I have come to learn that the only way to send that energy back is to express yourself, verbally, about what you are feeling. I still have not worked up the courage to do this in my normal everyday life, but I have tried it a few times and the results are pretty amusing...

I find that one does not need to send the negative energy back...there is no need for that. When one's negative energy starts to affect you, you have to remain calm, as one member had said. Keep your mind clear, and try not to delve into egotistical thought trains; in other words, be awareness, but don't be an ego.

This will allow you to access the situation without harming yourself or others even more. I recently had a situation full of negative energy, and I have not felt it in a long time, due to my spiritual practices. My heart beat quickly, and it hurt; my mindfulness, my universal mind split, and I had to let loose all that I needed to say.

It did not make me feel better, but it initially calmed my own reaction to the negative energy. What you need to do is move away from the negative energy. Re-center yourself. Meditate, be away from ego. I meditated for quite some time, then I silenced my self, and went on a journey to ask for guidance. I found what I needed, I learned what I needed, and although the situation still affects me, I can handle it without feeling the negative energy harm me.

That is what I have been doing my whole life - pushing away the fear and the anger, running, avoiding confrontation. It doesn't work for me, and it never will. When I am confronted with a person who has intent to control/attack me, If I deny myself in any way then I have willingly allowed that person to feed off of me (energy vampire) and I am also left to deal with the negative energy they sent my way.

When I express what I am feeling in the moment, I empower myself and the energy vampire has no hold on me. Instead of running from the attacker, the attacker will run from me.

Like I said in my previous post, I haven't yet worked the courage to end my denial of my feelings in my everyday life as this goes against everything I have been taught. The few times that I have expressed myself when being attacked, it felt as if a huge weight was being lifted off of my shoulders. My heart stopped pounding and my mind cleared. My attacker noticed this change in me and walked off in fear and confusion. It was funny and very empowering.

I'm sorry if my message seemed to imply this; I do not mean run away from the energy, avoiding it, or trying to push it away, I meant to temporarily take a few minutes for yourself, to bring balance into your spirit. Do not push away the emotions, accept them, embrace them, and understand them. Then let your mind flow freely, and unattach yourself; become clear.

Hi, i do meditate and if and when a situation does occur i will remain calm and leave the situation calm and relaxed by taking the time  to control myself, later i will meditate and gain what energy if any i need.

I don't know if this will help you, but it has helped me very much with similar phenomenon. Practice the "inner smile" popularized by Mantak Chia.

For me, I sense that energy is energy: Good, bad, and ugly. But it can be transformed inside of you from one quality to another. Just like alternating current can be transformed to direct current, negative subjective energy can be transformed into positive subjective energy. I've found the inner smile meditation and similar meditations to be excellent transformers of negative and unhealthy energy into positive and healthy energy.

Feeling other's state-of-mind is a spiritual power (siddhi), which is a by-product of your spiritual progress. With power comes responsibility (sorry I had to say this Wink). Your responsibility lies in acknowledging that feeling and unconditionally accepting it without being affected by it. If you feel more adventurous you can try to help that person and show compassion. This is beyond the abilities of a normal person to do this (including me), so the best action is to remain unaffected and avoid the situation in future.

If someone is sending you their suffering and you remain calm or avoid them, you may be perceived as indifferent or cold hearted, which is fine no big issue. If someone is attacking you and dominating you and you avoid him, you will be perceived as weak, big problem, isn't it? You must deal with it using 'common sense', just don't harm that fellow too much Smiley , and forgive after you are done.

It is unfortunate and bitter truth that in the modern world you start encountering negativity as soon as you step out of your house. For some poor chaps it starts as soon as they get out of their room. It can be a family member or even your spouse. For a Buddhist monk this is a perfect playground for practice, but an ordinary person who has become sensitive to energies finds it very discomforting. When they find that the negativity is omnipresent and making them sick, they give up the path they are walking, only the strong ones continue.

Initially , avoiding others helps a lot. If its a stranger or office buddy, its easy ... just mind your own business and don't see them much. Its a problem when its your relative or partner. If it becomes unbearable and long term, its better to part. (Please think before you do so, there can be other ways).

Other way is to build a positive shield around you. I frankly don't know how to do that. I've always taken the road of avoidance, even engaging in 'false-fights' so that the person stops talking to me. (I don't recommend a real fight or harming the person). Seeing more positive people and reading and watching positive an uplifting stuff helped me a lot. I've gone into the path of avoidance so much so that I have no TV and do not read newspaper, do not gossip, do not participate is those sick games people play with each other.......... and a long list of do's and don'ts.

Hi thanks for the feedback, well will have to look up Mantak Chia and practice the above. I agree that energy is energy and can come in many forms, its just what i do with it if and when i receive it. Something i'll just have to get used to.

 "With power comes responsibility" i feel like a super hero, no seriously yes when this situation occurs now which it has done since, i remain passive, sometimes i can try and help the person but depends on the situation. Fortunately i don't come across many negative people all the time but there are individuals that have a short leash and go off on one quite easily, when this happens i will just visualise a shield of energy around me and continue to do this. They say practice makes perfect so this i shall do. I agree its a part of my spiritual progression and if this is what is entailed, i'm happy to continue practising through meditation, mantras etc to make me even more spiritually aware so that i can not only feel others feelings through there negative, positive aura but also see them to.

We ALL take on Others Energies whenever there is a contact by Any means!!. One must learn to RELEASE and Not take it on. It's that simple!, If you feel an energy that is uncomfortable to you , Then Release it right then and there!. For those who practice GROUNDING!, This situation is not a problem!!
