Animals appear to have astral bodies etc just the same as us. The difference is that animals appear to be on a different evolutionary path to us. Robert Monroe noticed spirits of several of his deceased pets hanging round his house on his astral travels. He also came across what appeared to be an 'ex dog' on the astral who was excited about getting a chance to 'become human'.

It used to be a theory that all life on Earth progresses from the simpest up to the most complex (human), therefor we were all animals at some point. But I am not so sure. I think that the spirits who inhabit animals are here for their own reasons as they are on a seperate path. They learn what they need to here and then depart somewhere else. However, there seems to be an option to 'change paths' and become 'human' in certain cases.
If this is true then at least some of us were indeed animals in the past.

Douglas

Years ago my grandmas cat died. Later I saw a cat that looked the same sitting close to where grandmas cat died. It looked solid. A second later, it disappeared.

recently, my cat Muffin died.  She was 21 and so i suppose it was her time, however I loved Muffin so much, and it's still a hard loss for me.  I've had many (loved) pets come and go, however I miss Muffin easily the most.  (<--now i'm gonna be depressed, hehe[Wink])
When animals die do they tend to hang around a certain place or person, or do they go to some kind of afterlife area?  I would love to see Muffin again... is it possible to see her again, perhaps during an OBE? If so, where should I go to see her? Thanx!

Darkangel31,

I think that you don't have to go to a specila place while OBEing to see your animal. You could call her as soon as you are out of your body.

Also for people who miss their dead pets, I suggest that you talk with an animal communicator. I did it and it really helped me.

When my cat was still alive, the animal communicator helped us with a problem : my cat was too noisy at night and I could not sleep. My cat also hesitated to tell me that he needed more space, he was desperately dreaming of running outside. He was happy with me but was bored in my appartment. The night after she communicated with my cat (by telepathy), my cat stopped making noise during the night! The change was unbelievable. On my side, I had to take a decision weither I'd keep him knowing that he was unhappy about the environment. We were getting along so well together. But I did not have time to take a decision. He suddenly died a few months later while playing with his ball. One week after his death, the animal communicator talked again with my cat who had wonderful things to tell me. First he said that he was sorry I saw him die like that (he was suffocating in my living room and I was running all around the house, trying to find something to help him breathe and crying like ababy). He said there was nothing I could do to help him. He even explained that he had an artery that was blocked and had kept his blood from going to the heart. He said that before me he had never had such a close relationship with a human being and was very happy about this new experience. He said many more things. He said he was fine now. This communication really helped me.

I must say that the first time I consulted the animal communicator, I was not sure I believed in it. But the major change in my cat's behavior convinced me. And, like she says, the language of thoughts can be spoken by any being.

My wife and I are both animal lovers. We have shared our home with dogs and cats over the years, and currently share it with two cats. Last week there were three, however one died last Tuesday. We miss him.

However, I was moved to start reading a book I had heard about. While I'm about three quarters of the way through it, I feel I can recommend it. It is called Communicating with Animals - The Spiritual Connection Between People and Animals. It is written by Arthur Meyers. I bought my copy from Amazon.

The back of the book reads in part: "The skeptic and the animal lover will learn the history of animal communication, see the compelling evidence of animal reincarnation, and find out how to use your untapped mind power to form the psychic links necessary to 'converse' with animals."

Thought some of you might be interested.

I know that animals live after they die. I used to work at a veterinarian's office and often stayed with animals during their last moments. When an animal would die, I could see and feel his spirit leaving his body and rejoicing at the freedom of it. Furthermore, it was a fairly common thing to see an animal who had died at home to "visit" the clinic in spirit. I will never forget being greeted one morning in the kennel by an animal who had died overnight at home. She was exuberantly flying/running down the kennel hall, thanking us for her care. She was obviously happy to be free from the troubles of her body.

(Just for clarity, I should say that not everyone could see and feel these phenomena. I was lucky enough to work with another intuitive person who could experience and verify what I saw/felt/heart, though.)

As far as where domestic animals go when they die, I agree that they tend to stay around the people they loved. But I have seen instances of the spirits of dead dogs apparently influencing the personalities and behavior of puppies of the dead dogs' owners. I think reincarnation may be possible, but I haven't seen it happen in the way that Fido becomes Spot in an undoubtable way.

I lost a beloved dog "Kirby" who had only been with me for 7yrs..but we went thru quite a bit together!
There are plenty of times when we play together in the astral, running thru woods or in a park.  I had noticed though after at least 7 times of doing this I not once touched him...[Sad] I wanted to hug and feel him again... well, that night I expressed my feelings and sure enough he was there and I gave him the biggest hug!! <--ok now I am getting choked up..!
I wonder if other animals that we see in our dreams or astral (ones we don't recognize now) are animals from a past-life?  I have seen different animals that I don't recognize but have a feeling/connection to.

This is a nice thread. [Smiley] I knew there would be animal lovers here. Nay, I know how you feel. I have lost a number of dogs and cats over the years and it sure hurts. From the time I was a kid I always had a love for animals. I guess it's because they act so purely, and the pets give their love unconditionally.

Laurel, you may like this book I described above. There is mention of instances like yours in the book. Also, there are interviews with a number of 'animal communicators', which is both fascinating and heartwarming.

Nay, thanks for sharing. What a wonderful image your story about Kirby gave me!

I've never pondered the origins of astral animals. I wonder...

Nick, I actually have read the book you mentioned (I agree that it's very interesting!) and do animal communication for others sometimes. I love being able to help out when there are problems, and I love being able to connect with animals so directly. There are a bunch of books out there these days that offer instruction in how to communicate with your animal friends (living or not), and if the idea appeals to you, I think it's a great thing to experience. Worth the effort it takes to open up.

Just finished reading that book I mentioned above. Dracovulpes, it has a great chapter on animal reincarnation. All the animal communicators interviewed agree that animal reincarnation exists.

Laurel, if you read this, and you can recommend another book to me, please do so. I'm interested in one with instruction on how to learn to open up communication with our animal friends. Thanks.

Hi Nick,

I just saw your note!

Maybe you have already found a good book to guide you, but I do have a couple of suggestions.

The book that really got me going (quite a few years ago) was Penelope Smith's book, Animal Talk. It's inspiring and has good basic instructions.

Another book that was give to me to review was "The Language of Animals: 7 Steps to Communicating with Animals." I was very impressed by the author's description and instruction. She describe common pitfalls and how to sidestep them and also gives ideas for communicating in various situations.

Also, I was talking yesterday to a friend who does professional psychic work and who is learning to do animal communication. She says she has found a book called "Straight from the Horse's Mouth," by Amelia Kinkade and is extremely happy with it.

Anyway, good luck, and if I can be of any help, just ask.

Thanks Laurel [Smiley]

Just went ahead and ordered Carol Gurney's book The Language of Animals from Amazon. It seems like the right one to read next. Thank you so much for all the great information, and insight.

I will keep those other recommendations noted, and appreciate your kindly offer of help.

On a slightly more disgusting and horrible note (can you feel the anticipation?) there are several people who I personally know who practice Ki techniques on small animals such as Guinea Pigs and mice. Obviously, sometimes they escape from this unharmed, but other times, the trainee is successfull, and, well. yeah. i think its sick how some people can kill innocent animals for training purposes.

I'm going to start reading the Language of Animals and appreciate the reference. I've always hoped that we could understand animals' thoughts, but never thought about actually being able to do it. I've lost several dogs over the years, and still miss them all. Right after I lost my 15 year old dog, Girl, I had a very intense dream. Two other of my dogs who had "gone on" came back to get "Girl". I couldn't hear their thoughts even in the dream, but they conveyed to "Girl" that they were there to escort her to some kind of waiting place. Do you think that might have been more than a dream?

Hey Great Outdoors,

What do you think about it? Do you think it was more than a dream?

Sorry to get all therapisty on you, but usually the dreamer/experiencer knows best, I believe. I think it's possible your experience was "more than a dream."

I wonder if it might be helpful to start a topic about learning to communicate with animals. Or is that what this topic can be?

If anyone wants to practice talking with any of my animals, let me know. Maybe if we got going, we could all practice on one another's animals. Sometimes it's harder to talk with your own cohabiting animals than someone else's, especially when you're learning, because your own opinions about what your beloved friend will say is mixed up with what s/he DOES say.

There's a neat book about dog training called Beyond Obediencewhich incorporates communicating with your dog for yourself, though.

Does anyone want to get together to discuss/practice stuff from The Language of Animals chapter by chapter or exercise by exercise?

Laurel, My answer about the dream tends to vary, depending on what mood I'm in. Realistically, and logically, I think it was just a dream. I would LOVE to believe in something like Nay described with her dog Kirby, but I just can't. But, having said that, I must also say I am very willing to be convinced! That's one reason I visit this forum! [Smiley]

This forum might be a good place for a discussion on pet communication. This one might wind up being fun! I've still got to get the book, but I'll definitely keep you posted. By the way, thanks for the response!! [Cool]

I like the idea of a place to discuss the book and experiences as well. We could select a forum and create a topic on animal communications. I'd be glad to make it a "sticky" which will keep it at the top of the page as an ongoing topic. This might be as good a forum location as any for it. Any alternative suggestions would be considered of course.

Still waiting on Carol Gurney's book. I should receive it either tommorow or Monday. By the way, I emailed Carol and heard back from her personal assistant. Long story short is, that we'll be talking with one of Carol's assistant animal communicators this evening by telephone. I'll post more on this later.

Follow-up to my last post. We've had a chance to use one of Carol Gurney's assistants recently. She was very intuitive from our point of view. Both my wife and I felt we learned something about this particular cat which rang true. I have no way of knowing with absolute certainty of course, however overall it was a worthwhile experience. Darn... I wish I had a pet....   Smiley

Alls I got is like 50 stuffed aminals.  I like em quite good.  But they aren't loving enough [8D].

When I move out of the house... I'm sure to get a pet.  I never had one growing up that I could really call my own.

There was the cat that hated me, but I was like 5.

In order to understand any answer to this question, one must understand the relationship between the mineral, plant, animal, and human kingdoms.  In addition, there are kindoms above us (i.e. the Hierarchies) that opperate within the same paradigm.

The diffrenece between the animal and the human being is that the animal does not have an EGO; it is controlled by the group spirit.  I will leave the details up to the serious student.

Animals are our younger brothers, as are the plants and minerals.  The truth is: we can see everyone again.  Animals dream similarly to the way that we do, as they also have an astral body.

One would be best served to understand what ths EGO/I is all about.  This deserves serious study.

On the evolutionary scale it is possible for animals to pass some human beings by!  The strict materialist is a prime candidate.  The whole concept of planet of the apes is NOT far-fetched.  FYI: a monkey is NOT a more well-developed animal; it is a less developed human (i.e. stayed behind).  Those who are unable to raise themselves to the level of Spiritual thoughts are in danger of affecting their development.

Materialism is not evil, per se.  However, an UNBALANCED approach to the material world (i.e. thinking ONLY in terms of material things; being unable to relate the Hierarchies to phenomenon; etc...) will lead one in the wrong direction.  It is necessary that one understand that there is a Hierarchy of Spiritual beings whom make everything possible- not just to accept this notion, but to understand the process of how they work in everything we do and be able to bring it to life.

I AM nothing without the mineral, the plant, the animal, other humans, and the Hierarchies.  I love you all. [Smiley]
