Hello I'm a 14 year old male from Algeria and I've been reading about Astral projection. So I read these guides and I laid down on my bed and after a tiny bit of not moving and relaxing I got this tingling feeling through out my whole body then I began to feel dizzy so I stopped imieadtely and the dizzyness continued for like 10 minutes so i went to the living room and i told my parents I was very afraid. I still get the dizzyness now but not that bad even though a few hours have passed. then i began to read stories about astral projection and they told me that its very dangerous and you can die in your sleep etc etc.
now i'm very anxious and i am scared to go to sleep, i have anxiety. this morning i was playing with my little cousin and me and him spinned a tonn until we got very dissy but that was in the morning and i havent got a good sleep for a few days always sleeping at 2 in the morning

It is not dangerous at all and nothing can harm you. I can testify to this. Do not dwell on fear because your mind has the capability to manifest all manner of demons and monsters which in actual fact have no objective reality. You may meet hooded entities which are unlike the thought-forms we may create and seem intelligent.

The seemingly senstient beings/characters that you may meet are usually benevolent, blase or just confused. By the way, you ALWAYS get back to your body.

Also, astral projection opens the doors to many possibilities. Examples would be retrocognition, precognition (or seeing possibilities that may or may not manifest), commune with the deceased, and the most interesting of all for me...telepathy (usually when you decide to visit someone who's alive and you end up seeing what is on their minds and even talk to their unconscious selves OR you see what they are doing in the physical realm at the time - usually slightly inaccurately).

Anyway, I'm digressing here. There is no reason to fear at all. In fact, you should count yourself lucky once you succeed. Let me warn you that there is a lot of tosh being published out there which incites fear in people and then you get authors seeling ridiculous books about self-defense in the astral plane. the only self-defence you need is to know that you cannot be harmed. You don't have to run from anything! Do not believe everything you read and explore the phenomenon with a fresh perspective. It is the best way. Explore, experiment and have fun! smiley

Here's my OOBE related art with links to some of my experiences and the theories that go with them...
http://astralviewers.com/summerlander-journal/my-oobeap-related-art/

And here is how I induce my OOBEs. I got used to this method. It is akin to the Robert Monroe method explained in his first book:
http://astralviewers.com/summerlander-journal/how-i-induce-oobesap/

Good luck and have fun, my friend! cool

It is not because you are trying to OOBE. Besides, when you enter the stae you usually experience a switch in consciousness, a sort of sudden change in perception prior to vibrations or separation.

People don't die in sleep paralysis or from OOBEs...I GUARANTEE you. The people who died in their sleep were found to have underlying health problems usually of the cardiac nature.

Sleep paralysis is a natural mechanism that occurs every night when you sleep. the difference with OOBEs is that you manage to get your body to sleep while the mind is aware of itself and free to roam. SP comes about when inhibitory signals are sent from the pons region of the brain to motor neurons in the spinal cord. when this takes place, you get muscle atonia. This is supposed to act as safety so you don't act out your dreams.

The dizziness you get may be from anxiety and fearing the worst. Confront your phobias and you will be fine! Inducing an OOBE, whether here-now projections (1st phase) or metaphysical projections (2nd phase/astral projection) will be good for you. You sound like you need an adventure. The experiences can be wonderful! And I mean really wonderful. Before you induce one say to yourself ten times that your experience will be a pleasant and positive one which will benefit your being! wink

Hi hereforhelp,

I'm just afraid that this dizzy feeling I have been getting is from trying to have a OBE.
If you are having dizzy spells you need to go to a doctor.  A dizzy spell can be related to many things- from harmless stuff like balance problems, to more serious things.
Please go to a doctor and get yourself checked out, and if you want to project, start by meditating for 15 minutes a day and then keep adding time to your meditation.

Alright good morning everyone great, so where can I learn the first steps? I'll try giving astral traveling a try. But last time I got excited and a tingling feeling with through my body then I began to feel dizzy for a while. Was pretty scary. So there are no dangers at all in doing this? I really want to go question angels, wow this sounds so exciting. But pretty hard to believe (and kind of scary and weird).

OOBEs are real and acknowledged by science. They are just majorly misunderstood. From my personal experience I strongly suspect that it is not all in the brain. I think there's a whole other reality out there which we as multidimensional beings are able to tune into and, while we can observe constructs manifested by our mind in a frequency of reality that appears to manifest thoughts as seemingly solid forms, we may also enter the constructs of others. I have visited people too (both dead and alive) and seemed to get striking confirmations based on the info I obtained from them.

I don't want to influence you though and Xanth is right. Experience it and make up your mind. One way to test the validity of your experiences is to visit someone you know (alive). It doesn't matter if it is a 1st phase or 2nd phase. I've done this before and I either saw what they were actually doing at the time or even what they were thinking/dreaming about (their 'mindstuff' regardless of whether they were awake or sleeping). Of course, the sceptic would put it down to coincidence (fair argument). It is also a fair counter-argument the fact that when the projector tells the visited about their experience, the content of it seems to make more sense to the visited than the projector himself. The visited almost always expresses shock at the projector.

Like me and Xanth said, experiment, explore and draw your own conclusions. don't forget to have fun though! smiley

Meditation is good but you really don't have to do this in order to succeed. I don't meditate and I have managed to have so many OOBEs I've lost count. My experiences are simply brought about by the fact that I physiologically prime myself for it. A nap or sleep prior to induction works wonders.

Remember the "conditions" that Robert Monroe talked about in his first book? Condition C is a state of deep relaxation where you start to lose sensory input. Then there is condition D which is condition C when induced voluntarily from a rested and refreshed state. This is easier to achieve when induced after a short nap or in the morning after having slept.

Monroe was bang on the mark with the napping/sleeping prior to induction. This has been tried and tested by myself and it seems crucial in eliciting the quick induction of OOBEs. In fact I owe it to Monroe for the fact that I've had many OOBEs now since 2008. A lot of people overlook the mention of his nap recommendation. Perhaps he could have emphasised it a bit more in Journeys Out of the Body.

Summerlander, the reason that I advocate meditation for this specific person, is because he is fourteen.  My own son is thirteen and I am mentally comparing worldviews when you are that young.
If you read other posts I have written, you will see that I usually recommend a more complicated regime, but in this case I think meditation is a must.
I believe that meditation will prepare this young one for the experience of a 'bigger reality' -he needs to be prepared for what he experiences, emotionally and mentally, and I think meditation helps in this regard.

It's funny you mention that, CFT... I've actually come to the realization not too long ago that meditation should be a part of everyone's lives.
Regardless of what your end goal is... meditation *WILL* help you to attain them.  Until I came to that realization, I just believed that meditation would be helpful to most people, which is true too... but it can also help everyone attain whatever goals they're aiming at.

Meditation is our direct link to our own consciousness... it's a direct link to the non-physical.  Most people don't realize either of those points.  I feel it can strengthen your connection to yourself... while at the same time, strengthen that connection to *everyone* else as well, since, in the end, we're all connected in this physical reality.

And the more you can connect to yourself, the more you can connect to others by way of understanding.

So yeah, I fully and wholeheartedly agree with you... I guess I'm just being a bit too verbose in that agreement. LoL

Sure, meditation is good for you and can provide healthy perspectives. I wouldn't advise people against it. I just wanted to point out that in my case I don't and I still manage to project that's all.

It's good for the kid to have a variety of perspectives from everyone anyone. I wish you all the best, hereforhelp! wink

Well, really... and this is the part I now fully think Frank was wrong about... '

Frank was quite adamant that he didn't meditate, nor did he have any real idea what meditation was.    Smiley
Well, I can tell you unequivocally that he did meditate.  You meditate too... you just call it something different.

To do a conscious exit by Phasing, you have to meditate to get into the proper state first.  Sure, we have a bunch of "exercises" which you can try to assist you to get there... but they're not really "exercises", they're "MEDITATIONS".  Smiley

Meditation is the act of quieting your thoughts and focusing your mind towards a single intent... a byproduct of that *IS*, when you get deep enough and good enough, the point of consciousness experience.  Which is the precursor to the Phasing/Projection experience.  That's exactly what we're doing when we practice Noticing or Mental Rundowns.  We're quieting our mind and focusing it upon a single intent.  That intent takes the form of "noticing the blackness" or "visualizing a scene".  <-- They become TOOLS to move our consciousness away from this physical awareness and our physical senses... taking us to the "Point of Consciousness".

When you're the point of consciousness, you can focus that intent again towards many things... remote viewing, healing, projection, talking to NP entities, learning about yourself, exploring NPMR... learning to use your intent while in that state opens you up to *everything*, including that which I spoke of earlier.

So, while you might not "call it" meditation... it is.  Call it whatever you're comfortable with though... it's your tool.  Smiley

Hi Hereforhelp !

I just wanted to say that i'm getting the same thing when i try. I feel weird and dizzy and i feel like i'm going to puke and it does last for a bit after i stop the trance.  I still haven't been able to Project myself out eighter so i'm guessing that since we're both feeling the same thing while trying the same methods, it's probably a sign that we are on the right path lol .

I've been trying for about a month now , give or take a few days and sometimes i get the vibrations and sometimes i don't , but whether i get them or not , i always end up feeling some kind of nausea . My guess is that it's nothing to worry about . It's only normal to get a reaction from our body when trying to do something as major as  getting out of it  hehe.

i think it's important to understand that from the perspective of the physical body, with it's societal constructs and expectations, energy sensations and projection are very unusual, unknown and down right scary.  i felt many intense sensations when i was starting out, many times i thought i would be sick.  but it time, it passed.  i don't know how you all feel about it, but it seems to me that carrying crystals (quartz is fine) helped acclimate me to the new sensations.
