Yes, Greytraveller, my very first astral travel happened at the end of an early morning meditation. I had meditated for about an hour before turned over on my side to practice visualising to project an image an a "screen" in my mind, (something I'm not very good at). I was still in alpha, maybe deeper, when suddenly everything I was thinking was projected clearly as images in my minds eye, there was a silver flash and I was standing in the same room, my bedroom, only it was slightly different, a door where it shouldn't be.
It was at the end of this same astral travel where I was flying, I felt my husband roll over and put his arm around me in bed - although he didn't put it around me, the "flying me", I felt his arm around the me which was much further away and below. I actually felt my consciousness in two separate locations at the same time, before being sucked back into my physical form, and opening my eyes back in bed. My knowledge of OBE's before this had been confined to reading about near death experiences, needless to say, my curiosity was awakened
. My two other conscious projections were very early morning where I was woken up by vibrations, I can't remember clearly, but I had probably meditated the night before as is predominantly the norm for me.
I don't know for sure, but maybe my starting to meditate helped me to connect to my astral body?
