Hello all,

I've been lurking on this forum for some 6 months now, I think it's time to show my face! Smiley

I'm 28, male, currently living in Alberta. My interest in AP and such began some 7 years ago when I accidentally had a partial obe (I had skipped a night of sleep, and was listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, visualising colours). I immediately started researching, practiced, expecting more of the good stuff, but nothing happened, and I gave up. Looking back, good thing I did give up, because I had so many unresolved fears, I can hardly believe it myself.

I picked it up again a few years later, with similar results. This is my third shot at it, and by far the most serious of all. I'm practicing daily, trying to make it into a way of life rather than something that needs doing. I've had two more spontaneous obes these past couple months, one during sleep (I'd say 60% awareness), another while trying to phase -- 100% awareness, but blind as a bat (lol). They both lasted mere seconds.

I've read JOB long ago, re-read it recently, also read FJ. But then I came across Frank's posts pdf (thank you Xanth!) and never looked back. I simply devoured the 1000+ pages, and I'll probably be back for seconds. It's almost like a Gospel, in that it teaches you that you don't really need anything (!), no method, no technique, it's all right there within you. Groovy stuff.

So, I decided to forget all methods and techniques, and to use his knowledge to my advantage. I was particularly intrigued by Frank's idea that imagination is right there at the border with the astral. So, I decided to start imagining things. Not an easy feat, I've always been very grounded, always taken great pride in my "ninja reflexes", but I decided to make a change and start imagining. I did it while lying down relaxed, at first, then figured I should expand it to a way of life, so I started daydreaming whenever I had a moment. Houses by the beach, red Corvettes parked in my driveway, adventures on mysterious islands, you name it, I had it. This all happened within the last week or so.

A few days into this practice, I started getting flashes of light behind my closed eyes. Now, I'm no stranger to chakras (I'll call them thus for lack of a more modern term) from my readings from long ago, and I immediately suspected what it might be. For as long as I can remember, only my heart chakra was pulsating gently -- and only during the time when I was interested in AP stuff. No interest, no vibrations. And they were (and still are) always mild, around 4-6Hz. Can't make them any faster (the moment I think about them getting faster, they stop!). So anyway, I was getting these pulses of light, strobe-like, I'm sure many members here know what I'm talking about. And also, I started getting this alien imagery in my mind. I stopped imagining about earth-stuff, and just waited to see what I'd "see". And I wasn't disappointed! Strange looking buildings, sceneries, unknown objects seen as clear as day (for a brief second), many complicated, non-terrestrial-looking structures, of unknown use and purpose. The longer I practice, the longer I seem to be able to hold these images, to turn them around and zoom in/out to see more of the surroundings. I even saw something very similar to what you guys call the 3d blackness, looked grainy, a lot like TV static, but it was a warm, dark colour, soothing I'd say. And I'm seeing all this stuff while perfectly physical, just mildly relaxed. I'm even talking to myself out loud, keeping a verbal commentary of what I'm seeing, complete with "Oh, that's new!" and "Rather interesting!".

Is this remote viewing?

I'm asking, because I always thought I was totally non-gifted to this sort of things, and that every inch of ground I'd cover would be a result of mighty practice. And it seems to happen best when I'm really _awake_, like right after having my morning coffee. Occasionally, I caught myself drifting to sleep, and there are no images then. A few times I got these really intense flashes of light, disturbingly strong. If it means the 3rd eye opening, then I'm more than happy to have them, just that it makes meditating pretty difficult. I can now feel my heart throat and brow chakras vibrating mildly throughout the day, as soon as I think about them! Never had any sensations on top of my head, though. The only time I got close was some years back, when, on the background of intense vibrations, I heard/felt this THUNDER trying to split my head open! And that marked the end of that period lol.

I never intended for these things to happen, all I wanted to do was to follow Frank's advice (roughly: if you believe you're there, you will be there!). So I intended to phase, and I got film noir imagery instead! Cheesy Should I go on this route, imagining alien stuff and hoping the 3rd eye opens even more, or should I try something else? I'm not talking techniques here, just a direction of thought (where thought == creation).

So anyway, long post, but I had to open up, and what better place to do it than this wonderful forum! Many thanks to the moderators, I've been reading your insightful advice many times, and it's been really useful. Hoping to make some friends here, and looking forward to any replies.

Hello Dan and Welcome to the Astral pulse!  smiley

When I first came here I read Frank's entire PDF as well (Thank You again Xanth). Since then I have reread it at least 15 times and every time I do, I learn something new.

You are doing fantastic. Keep doing what you are doing. I use creative visualization quite a bit myself, many times throughout the day. I believe you can never practice this enough.  smiley

Those flashes you are experiencing are know as Hypnogogic Images. This is when you just observe them with an air of curiosity and stay your course. When you first start to see actual scenes, still just observe and ALLOW them to become more vivid.

It may seem like you were "Remote Viewing" because you were watching the scene. If you ALLOWED the scene to blossom further, you would find that you aren't just watching it, now you are immersed deeply in it.

I think your Alien Scenario was in the NPR and that you were successful with your intended goal of Aping. All you have to do to AP, while Phasing, is to just release your immediate physical focus. Sometimes this surprises you when it happens so fast. But other times it can take an hour to hour and half, for me at least. It all depends  on my current mindset, stress level, distractions, etc.

You intended to Phase, but got "film noir" instead. No, you intended to Phase and Phase you did.  smiley You just didn't have a intended destination once you actually Phased, so you ended up where you did and saw what you were "supposed" to see. I always use the intent, "Take me where I need to go, show me what I need to see, teach me what I need to learn. Then I trust that it will happen.

Good Luck and Safe Travels!  smiley

Thank you so much for the warm replies! Lionheart, your post really made my day Smiley

This is probably a bit off topic, but it's related to the experiences I was describing above. During my meditation this morning, I met somebody which I perceived as a bird. There was a lot of fluctuation (he kept changing shapes, to various birds; he then landed on a tree, big surprise there, but the tree kept changing shapes, too). When I tried communicating, all I got was a bird cry. But long story short, after thinking about it all day during work (yeah, I'm a model employee lol), I reached the conclusion that everything most likely wasn't what I perceived it as, but rather my C1 mind's interpretation of how things really were. Like how some dreams make no sense because your mind has no point of reference. It's very possible my bird fellow looked very much different, and was probably occupying a structure familiar to him, but because my physical consciousness perceived him as such, it automatically anthropomorphized it with bird-like attributes (i.e. no talking, perched on a tree). And when he tried to talk to me, all I got was a bird cry. This is by no means ground-breaking stuff, and I was aware of this translation process theoretically. But it's a whole new ballgame when you experience it yourself!

So, unfortunately, the scenario gets pretty badly distorted. Lost in translation, as it were. The question is, how do I remove the interpreter?

Remember that if this bird fellow was an actual being, then he was also projecting an image to you. So the confusion could have been on his end as much as yours.

If you were fully aware and the experience didn't stabilize, I would say that the problem was coming from the transmitter and not the receiver.

Now sometimes, we can't make sense of something because we have no frame of reference to draw upon.

For instance, I could be inside the center of a nuclear reactor but I would most likely wonder why I was drowning in some glowing weird stuff. It would stop making sense and it would no longer make sense for me to be there.

However, if I was a nuclear physicist, I might recognize that I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience what it is to be uranium, not just handle it from behind a suit but actually make some mind blowing advancement.

That's out there but I'm sure you see what I'm saying.

There is always the possibility that you met a parrot that wanted to be a peacock. Stranger things will happen. cheesy

I will give you an example of one of my first visuals from my Journals.

I lie back in my chair, start my 30 minute Binaural Beat MP3 and begin to meditate/phase. I wasn't good at either, lol, so I began doing some progressive relaxation and some light energy work (look up Robert Bruce's NEW technique). After the MP3 was done I found myself in a deep meditative state. I thought about that spinning top toy that Leonardo DiCaprio used in the Movie Inception.
I then saw this spinning top in front of me, then after a few minutes it changed into a couple of people spinning (like Ice Dancers do). Next these people turned into missiles that shot into the air. The missiles then went up into the air and exploded at a certain height. From the explosion came the most beautiful colors of light. The light then condensed into the form of umbrellas as they drifted down to Earth.

What I am trying to tell you here is that in the beginning, it is extremely hard keep your focus on just one thing. The scene can get badly distorted in no time at all. It starts with a simple shape, but then morphs. But I found out after many more experiences that you can control it and you do this by grounding yourself in one scenario and not letting go.

If you would like to investigate this little bird scenario again, just start a simple creative visualization of a outdoor scene. Start with a simple leaf. Try to see that leaf as clear as you can, then start to back "the camera" up. Pretty soon you will see the tree in full and it's just possible there might be "a bird" in it as well!  wink

Once you see the bird, talk to it. Guides come in all shapes and sizes.

I have a feeling that when you attempt this again, you will be back with another question or sharing a new adventure about something else unique that occurred!  smiley
