Hello everyone! I have known about astral projection for about 5 years now and I have never been able to successfully project. In all the time I have known about Lucid Dreaming and OBE's I have had one successful LD and I know I was lucid because I was so excited I was running around the dream telling everyone that I was controlling myself in my dream XD..

Well I need some advice, it would be much appreciated. I have not attempted to astral project very often in the past 5 years, maybe a total of 30 times, sadly. I always tend to give up because I cannot keep my mind focused long enough to even get relaxed, my mind always ends up starting to create a semi dream, so I either fall asleep, or attempt to get re focused on relaxing my body. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you fix it?

I have read you can go into an OBE from this state, but I do not know how I got their or if it is even sleep paralysis.

Personally speaking, don't worry about SP. If you can master relaxation, you can OBE any time you please.

Hello.

That sounds like you were already having an obe to me but that you were just anchored to your body. Closing my eyes allows me to get away from my body from that state. There are some exit techniques in the faq.

With regards to falling asleep; are you just trying to project when you normally go to bed at night? If so you might want to have a nap earlier in the evening or get up in the middle of the night and try to project then.

hmm.. I try to project at night before I goto bed. and I basically just woke up, I think I am about to go attempt it again after re-reading up on some techniques to achieve it Tongue
and honestly? I had those experiences before I even knew what astral projecting was >.> I don't know how I got there and I have tried to get there again, but fail due to lack of concentration.

I need to start getting into meditation >.> but I need help with learning to clear my mind. I have ADD and I am not medicated for it, so my brain is constantly running a muck when I am trying to relax

Sleep paralisis is when your physical body "shuts down" and paralizes itself so you don't toss and turn at night. As for the ADD, the more you meditate, you'll start noticing the ADD "calming down"

okay so I was doing some research, on youtube, and I dont know how accurate this is.
It tells you to chant a phrase over and over as your falling asleep, and when you do fall asleep you will feel your body shut down but still be conscious. then after a bit you will start to feel as if your flying through space, and you will be able to successfully step out of your body.
It sounds legitimate, but I dont trust youtube on this kind of subject that much. especially since the guy explaining it was on a motorcycle driving around xD

That's kind of similar to the first method i invented. I would lay in bed, relax, and use my third eye to pass phrases off to my subconcious and would project. Give it a try, i have a nice projection spell if you're interested. I haven't tried it out yet though so idk if it works or not.

and should I be aware of my 3rd eye before trying this? cause I do have a hard time with focus >.> so I am not sure if I know how to tap into my 3rd eye
