Hello from Houston!

Hi!

Where to start!  I have been interested in Astral Projection for longer than I care to admit, and I am prompted to finally join the forum after an experience that I just can't really explain.  So I'm looking for like-minded folks whose experience I can look to for guidance.  I'll definitely have to check out the basics provided here!

Here's my story: for years I tried to have a conscious OBE / AP, and had success as a teen with remote viewing.  However, over time, I just haven't practiced.  And then...

Two nights ago, I was having a really intense dream, when I suddenly became aware that my body was vibrating/pulsing (much like when I was attempting AP).  I remember thinking "OUT!" and I "flew" up, through my ceiling and through the roof.  That's the strange part: when I did that, for a split second, I remembered reading about "resistance" when passing through solid objects (not sure that's correct), and I *saw* golden glittery "exits" (for lack of a better word, and just shot out of the house.  I decided I wanted to go to the mountains (why not?) and I was suddenly at a ski resort-looking place, and there seemed to be a singing event happening at a balcony, with many people in attendance.  I feel like someone tried to talk to me, but I couldn't hear anything, and I wasn't wanting to "snap out of it".  I don't remember at this point if I thought about what was really happening, just that if I thought too hard, whatever was happening would end.  Whether or not it did, I don't know, but at some point I'm sure I slipped back into a dream. 

Thinking back on it, I was *consciously* trying to "stay in it", and not look back or think about what was happening.

I don't know what to make of it, but I certainly hope it happens again!

Greetings Tamara and welcome.
Yes, you did indeed have an OBE a few nights back. And actually your first OBE was quite dramatic as most people just float about inside their room during the first projection. (That's what I did btw.)
Also the ability to overcome resistance and pass through solid objects seems to vary from person to person. Some people are very good at it and others not so much. Personally I do have trouble going through walls so usually try to pass through a window instead.
