Newby, am I close?

Hi!  New here but I've been lurking around related sites for a while now and have had a strong interest in AP, lucid dreams and similar topics my whole life.  Recently I've been putting a lot more concentration and effort into projecting after a life time of close calls and what I imagine where small successes, though I'd love some feed back on those later....

Anyway, I've been using I-Doser to help get things going the last week or so and while I haven't fully projected I've definitely experienced an altered, trance like state, a small purple-ish light being seen with my eyes closed, and a sensation of almost sinking then bobbing around in my own body like I was floating.  At times I also experience a kind of light popping sound (always just one) and a very frightening sensation that I'm not alone, which I've been trying to get more comfortable with as it happens to me a lot and I don't think being scared will help.   

While this might sound weird, I tried earlier and felt like I was closer than ever before, when I got up after meditation I felt very foggy and energized and looked in the mirror at my reflection.  Again, this might sound weird, but I noticed what I can only assume was my aura or something (I couldn't physically see it but definitely saw it if that makes sense) mostly overlying my reflection but slightly higher and to the left.  Is this something anyone else has experienced or am I just insane?  I feel like maybe I got close but did something wrong, any pointers would be great!

I'm only assuming, I have no way of knowing if that's what it really is. I see haziness around other people once in a while but it's never a constant, and only once or twice have I got a distinct color off of anyone, never on anyone I know well...

Sounds like the start of an aura to me.

pauli, you know that when you say something like that you can put doubt into his mind subconciously and he might really need to practice years before succeeding.. i read about it in another thread >__<

rcolumbusk, everybody learns at a different rate and if you're able to see auras already that's sure to mean you're more psychically developed than others.

Good point Tofu, a persons subconscious probably would play a huge role in advancing in this kind of thing.  Like when you creep yourself out or let old religious conditioning (an issue I have had to be mindful of in the past) get to you and end up with all kinds of problems like self imposed limitations or what I imagine is mostly self projected negative energies.
