What are the benefits of OBE's? Why pursue it?

Hi I'm new here. I was doing a Google search on Buddha and Kundalini and somehow stumbled on this site. I see that there are tons of websites on how to leave your body but I don't see any discussions on the why? I am more interested in meditation and healing and enlightenment but have never given much thought to OBE's and how they could all be related?

Is there a connection between meditation and astral projection? It seems that most of the people who practice astral projection also meditate. Is astral projection the next step.

it's just another ability that proves you are more than your body, than you can move past this dimension & experience greater reality, that helps to awaken you faster.

It introduces you to a new level of reality.

With me it was the first concsious step on my metaphysical path. I rarely try for conscious exits any more but I have a very active dream-life now and still have regular spontaneous projections.

The main thing for me was that it opened my eyes to the wider reality. Half the stuff I do these days would have seemed totaly crazy to me a couple of years ago. My feet are firmly on my path now and I have AP to thank for being the hook that pulled me in.

OOBEs...why pursue them?

Explore other worlds, create worlds from imagination, problem solve, get a different perspective on reality, improve on your confidence and improve yourself as a person in general, see ideas already manifest in unborn reality, tap into your subconscious reservoir, time travel, contact aliens, communicate with the dead, visit the living and see what's on their minds and/or what they are doing in actuality, inter-dimensional travel, enter worlds beyond your imagination and meet divine beings, see God, etc. etc. You'll find more reasons here...good reasons:

Whatever you think is possible in that state of consciousness, IS possible. Whatever you BELIEVE you can do you can in the Phase state. All your beliefs and expectations have a massive potential to come to life.

Why have them? Because they can be great fun and also very insightful. Most of them can also make us wonder about what we experience. OOBEs can bring more questions than answers. In general, it can be extremely beneficial and yes, you can get enlightening experiences out of it so it is relevant to what Buddha experienced according to the story because he was inducing altered states of consciousness too.

The pine cone on his head is representative of the pineal gland in my opinion. This gland is the only viable place in the brain for the production of endogenous DMT...a hallucinogen found everywhere in nature. I know you're skeptical when it comes to the existence of chakras but when you feel the first and second ones above your head the area up to them feels like a cone shape(bigger than that one but I'd still assume thats what it represents).

I'd never even thought about the cone until you mentioned it. I just assumed it was some wierd cultural thing lol.

Yes, also, the pineal is shaped like pine cone. So maybe there is a connection there when it comes to the perception of the head chakras. Perhaps the huge cone perceived in chakra meditation is the non-physical template or prototype of the pineal which is physical and about the size of a pea.

I am also open-minded!
