I have never been so determined to project as I am now.  I have become ever so sensitive to energy that I start vibrating as soon as I start AP exercises.  But I have a big problem with sleep. 

I don't want to spend lots of money on CDs and don't really trust those with subliminal messages in them anyway.  There must be a simple method to stay awake (because I am so close most of the time).  Experiences APers, please please can you share your knowledge?

Well I have insomnia so thats what helps my projections. I wake up usually every 45 minutes or so and get a drink and lay back down.

I would recommend focusing on something instead of drifting off. Some things that may help are continuously tap the side of your leg. I often can control the state where i find my body drifting to sleep and that is when I use my mind to jolt out of body. If you have a focus point to stay awake, often reiterating words in your head like "Stay awake" may help as well. I've been recording OBE's since March but have had them since I was about 16 years old.

I made an analogy a long time ago that went something like this.. "Usually I notice my body fall asleep and I consciously take control and decide to separate my two distinct bodies. Basically i can describe it as following. I can feel myself drift closer and closer to sleep. Sort of like diving into a big lake that gets colder when you go deeper (and darker as well). When I reach a certain point I conciously say "ok time to try to exit"."

Hm... for some reason it didn't occur to me that staying awake would help with projection.

But yes, you probably know if there's something that you're worried about and you let it occupy your mind, it is harder to fall asleep. Also, physical activity would help. If all else fails, sudden change in temperature will do the trick (splashing yourself with cold water or sticking your head out the window on a cold/rainy day, for instance).

From my experiences, I can tell u one thing for sure and it has do to with DIET..... and having free time (vacation or weekends) try to wake up early at a day when you are free, and eat something light... salad or very light form of bread without any meat...  and go back to bed and if you have been doing energy work with your chakras and such as each one of us should for better result, u will have a much greater chance at staying awake at an AP/OBE atempt, coz that way your metabolism wont draw all that energy your body would otherwise use and would draw your brain into sleep, instead it would manage fine with a small amount of energy and plenty left for you to do OBE/AP/LD's.  Just a tip Wink
