I'd like to start off by giving a shoutout to everyone in general. It's my first time on this forum and I was driven here by curiousity. Several weeks ago I was having a random dream in which I experienced an awakening, or rather went lucid as you say.

When I experienced lucidity it was quite amazing, everything became clear. I knew exactly what I was experiencing and knew it was a dream. After several seconds of nervous laughter to myself I realized I had no idea what I wanted to do. Now, when I went lucid I was dreaming that I was at an ancient temple. The pillars reached far above my head and I had been in the middle of something important. Imagine my frustration trying to remember what I was trying to do in my dream, and thinking I was nuts for trying to go back to dreaming. Then it hit me.

Astral projection. I had read an Astral Projection novel by John Magnus (who came highly recommended from a friend) and though I was skeptical. I read through the entire novel without trying a single thing he had set out to teach. So when I remembered that Astral Projection was a possibility I just yell "Astral Projection NOW!"

I laughed at myself for saying that but then I began to float. My heart leaped to my throat and I started to panic, already my panic had set off an alarm in my brain and I could feel the control of my lucidity ebb away. So I quickly quieted my mind and focused on floating to the ceiling. At first it was slow, my dream body only rose a few inches. But when the moment of panic passed I shot up and into the ceiling. If it hadn't been so fast I would have uttered a yelp of surprise that I was actually going to hit the ceiling. Yet the strangest part was that I had gone through the ceiling as if I was emerging from the depths of a pool. I could only describe it that way. One moment your in the water and then you pass through it seamlessly.

Now here is the part I found quite strange. As soon as I hit the ceiling I went someplace else completely. And as I read that is rather common. But the place I went was beyond my understanding. I think I went somewhere we aren't supposed to, because as soon as I went through I was surrounded by light. Unbelievable light, the kind that permeates through everything. In this light I felt completely naked. It was so intense I couldn't see myself anymore. I felt as if I was the light as it passed through me. The sensation lasted only several seconds though as I was instantly tugged into my body. I awoke the next morning remembering everything with stunning clarity. The memory was not like most dreams that float away as your body becomes awake. Its strange really, the memory could be attributed to the kind that sticks with you after something dramatic in your life happens, like the day you got married.

After surfing the web for more clues on where I went in those breif seconds of astral travel I still don't know. I was wondering if anyone here has gone there before and understand what I'm talking about.

First of all, congratulations on your  Graduation from Dreamstate Lesson into Lucidity and Astral Projection.
You just entered into a 'Mystical' state, also known as epiphany, theophany, or peak experience.
I don't speak of mine (I had a very similar experience years ago) because of the circumstances that caused it, but I'm very happy for you.
I hope you enjoy this altered state of awareness you've just entered- the rabbit hole runs deep.

OH WOW!

Thank you for the comment. Its strange really, I've never been a religious person and at best I took religion with a glass of cynicism. If only I could have stayed there longer...

Hi Adaly,
And welcome. That was a wonderful experience; thank you for sharing. I can relate to everything up to the change of state you experienced upon passing through the roof. Can't wait to her further comments from other forum members.

I've had an experience similar to yours. In mine I had been meditating on something that holds a lot of energy. I left my body and was sucked up into this intense light and a noise that was so loud and sounded like turbo chargers from jet engines. I felt like my astral body was burned up. I later talked to a friend and found out I was not to do that meditation for longer than 5 minutes. Wish he had told me before I started. Maybe we tapped into the same energy. I don't know what it was so I can't answer your question but wanted to share my similar experience.
