Has anyone tested and studied the results of physical foods and the effect on astral projection? Do certain foods work best for inducing ap's or not?

I've wondered that for years. I know if I eat pasta with spaghetti sauce in copious amounts just before crashing I get a night jam-packed with weird dreams. Whether that induced any forgotten APs, don't know. Maybe different foods do set some people up for it?

Well, I have found that rich foods such as pizza too close to sleep time will send me straight into the lower astral realms aka nightmares!!

i posted to another form about this and someone said that fiber, wheat, or oatmeal was good for projecting.. also, its obvious that the more you eat before bed the more energy burns and tougher to project.

anyone test this theory?

Well when it comes to OBE's energy is everything.

I think eating before a projection will hinder the experience, because after a meal alot of energy goes to your digestive system and drains the energy body.

I find i get best results first thing in the morning before breakfast when i have an empty stomach and my body is already relaxed from the nights sleep.

I could be wrong though, im still not experienced enough to teach people.

I heard somewhere a while ago that fasting improves the flow of energy, i dunno if this is true though.

I found no correlation between diet and these experiences, though I can imagine trying to project on a stuffed belly, realy though, if you want limitiations from diet, you are free to believe what ever constraints you desire.

I've found that raw garlic, of all things, can increase dream lucidity a great deal.

does garlic shrimp count?...Smiley

I think if one does go to bed with a full stomach it does take alot of energy for digestion which could hinder the projection.  That would be a great test to see if switching from being a meat eater to a vegetarian if results in projection would raise your higher consciousness and staying out longer. I've never done that and would be something to investigate.

has anyone tried this by switching from meats to veggies for quality projections?

i cant project yet so obviously i cant say anything about this with any kind of accuracy but i imagine the various things in food could have a different effect, but only on the bodies ability to relax and/or a substance which would affect the brain e.g. i should think tea or coffee would make it more difficult, obviously because of the caffeine in your brain, and a large meal would divert a lot of the body's energy to the digestive system rather than letting the body relax for sleep.
Other substances which might affect AP'ing ability could be downers like alcohol which can make people more sleepy but i'm not sure what the limit is before you'd be able to keep your focus.
Something like the psylobin (sp?) in magic mushrooms would have a big effect on your imagination i would think, but as to the actual ability to project i dont know.
Lack of food would make a difference, i know that when i'm very hungry there's little else i can think about other than my hunger.
I don't know what the supposed link with meat and impairing astral projection is all about, does anyone know what is in meat which is meant to make it harder?

I don't personally believe that food could affect the energy body, so i just think that food could only make a difference on the state of the physical body which would inevitably effect the difficulty of projection.

I used to eat a lot of fattening unhealthy food.  In the last 6 months Iíve been eating very healthy and have cut out almost all junk food.  My physical health has really improved but it seemed to have done nothing for my projections.

Makaveli,

I've been keeping a record log for the last couple of months now what I eat. From what I can see is that there's no special food that helps with projection. Even though, this might be a little extreme by keeping a log on this information, but it definitely paints a clear picture. At one time, I thought subway's beacon ranch with Italian herb/cheese had some ingredient to help me project. The first few times I had the sandwich I was able to project. After 4-5 sandwiches later, I wasn't able to project.

From my conclusion, it seems that its mental and energy that will set you straight when projecting. Eating healthier foods are a bonus to the physical body. But to say eating a slice of pizza will prevent you from projecting is invalid. I conclude that maybe certain foods can help mental clarity and burn less physical energy when you sleep. But so far, I've not yet to discover.

I don't know why other people don't run these tests when they first start projecting. So far I run a log on my daily food intake, sleep schedule, experience type lucid to astral,, false awakening, conscious astral projection.

lol...VOS...you could be the new "jared" for subway commercials! could open up a whole new market! still wiping the coffee off my keyboard.  cheesy

major number one thing...water!!! best conduit!
hydration is everything. diet not as important. physical, mental, emotional constipation is a big hindrance. have to stay fluid. eat whatever you want, but try drinking a gallon of water a day!?!
i've been a vegetarian, vegan, rawfoodist, fruitarian, and i feel the greatest benefit came first from 'more liquids', second from foods that were more alive (higher vibration). i also know about heavy, simple carbs...yes they will drag you into the lower astral. highly refined sugar foods & those high in caffeine will toss you about in all directions.

everything dehydrates...EVERYTHING. coffee/tea/exercise/processed foods/electricity/being on the computer/watching tv/pollution/sex/thinking/breathing...eveything...DRINK MO' H2o to balance...drink even more to by-pass the physical boundaries!
Cheesy

Eating healthy is a hard thing to do in the U.S.  At my local grocery stores, organic foods are expensive. Like if you look at the packaged salad: Regular iceberg lettuce salad is $1.99, but organic romaine is $4.29. I try to eat healthy, but I'm on a budget too.

I've pretty much cut out all refined sugar (no sodas, candy, chocolate) and I drink orange juice pretty much all the time. However, I do like a cup of coffee in the morning and one after dinner. And I can't help but go get a cheeseburger now and then. But a big fat baked potato with some green beans and a salad is good too.

And don't forget exercise. 30 minutes a day on the exercise bike to work off those cheeseburgers.

However, it would be nice if a Subway was the Holy Grail.

yeah...it should be a crime...the price of healthy food!
i'm a huge advocate for gardening!!! Any square inch of soil should be honored as the sacred, fertile ground it is, but then there's always that argument for lack of time. i think it has to do with what you're willing to put into it. it's sad that large families are driven to have to eat more garbage to save a few bucks, and with rising oil costs...it's just gonna get worse. it's hard, but you can do a lot just by being vigilant. anything you buy in a grocery store is going to either be empty or poisonous anyway...so what can you do?!?

have you ever tried neutralizing your food by the laying on of hands. it's cheaper than organic. Wink easiest to do as soon as you get home and everything in still in the bags. just lay your hands over the groceries and ramble on about how, "i neutralize all poisons and carcinogens in this food. i release all negative and disturbing vibrations and fill this food with positive, healthy energy that is of benefit to me"...etc. of course the intention has to be behind it, but i think you'd be impressed with the effects (if you can stick with it). also remember to give it another little go just before sitting down to eat...i think it's called "grace" in some circles?!? wink i honestly feel it's more about reworking, redirecting the energy, and making a conscious choice of what is being allowed in, etc...then it is about the actual food itself. i think it has just as much to do with forgetting the ritual of eating as it does just the physical, nutritional make up. like washing your hands, making a nice place setting, turning off the tv, and such, and NOT EATING IN YOUR CAR...it's all part of it. we replace the rituals of life with sloppy, thoughtless, convenient, hectic routine...and then we wonder why we feel like crap.

just another 2 cents

That's a neat idea, and wouldn't hurt to try. I also remember when reading about NEW exercises, Robert Bruce said that you can stimulate energy centers in your mouth and tongue to fully absorb the good energies out of foods. He even went as far to say that you can live on Pizza and Beer that way (But I wouldn't recommend trying it).

i tend to agree. in that i think it's just another (and good/simple) example of how we all get stuck in the physical & implied blend of it all. i always wonder that (a lot rolleyes )...that if you could raise kids on an island, without any outside interference whatsoever. if you told them that eating bananas made them hold their breath longer under water, or that crabs spelled out secret messages in the sand if you looked at them long enough, or...that the beautiful little songs they sing get carried off by the wind and grow into colorful parrots. stuff like that. all the things that could be made possible, if we weren't instilled with all the stuff that's not possible. RULES SUCK!

anyway...there are people turning up here and there that are professing themselves to be "breathatarians" as "someone" already mentioned. wink i think that would reconfirm the idea that nothing is really good or bad. if you can live off nothing. you can live off anything. i've heard of people that have smoked their entire lives and drank heavily, and upon autopsy had the insides of a healthy twenty year old. pink lungs, etc. the mind is way powerful thing!!!

sooner than we think, they'll pushing kibble on us. purina people chow! right now it seems silly, but give it five years, with global warming, the economy, monsanto, genetic-modification and the rest...and there might not be any "real" food left...not that average folk can afford.
as long as it's not soylent-green, but if it tastes good. people tend not to ask questions. bahhhhhhh.

Stookie,

I do agree about eating healthy is a high price to pay and its a shame that everything revolves around "FAST" and convenient. I've been working my butt off the last 8 months dieting,  exercise, jogging, losing weight, eating the right foods and removing beer. Its a a lot of physical / mental lifestyle change and it seems that the world just doesn't want that path.

If you truly want to be good to your body, you'll go the distance and do it. I started to regress back to my astral projections when I projected daily back in the day and questioned what was different in my life? I was 40-50lbs lighter, didn't drink beer, had energy, and could spend the time mentally/physically giving to it.
