Can you get any types of 'empowerment' from OBE's? I have read in another forum and other sites of people getting senses of better clarity after OBE's, in this world after seeing the hyper realism of the astral world and a better sense of enlightenment. Another guy was able to shoot lightning bolts from his fingers too apparently (jk sorry lol).

Has anyone else here been able to bring back any types of special things from OBE's/AP's? maybe even things you wanted. (realistic things of course)

You ARE consciousness.  What you are "there" is what you are "here"... and opposite.

You ARE consciousness.  What you are "there" is what you are "here"... and opposite.

Xanth man, I admire how much time you spend helping others, and yet I'm lazy. Instead of searching about it, I'll ask you for links if you have where YOU explain that consciousness more. I don't want random stuff, I want (if there are) YOUR stories and explanations behind it.

Thing is, I had lucid dreams since my post (if you remember sleep paralysis, well doesn't matter if you don't), but I was never able to become completely conscious during sleep and problem is, I actually realize I'm not conscious enough when I'm awake. I started going for walks, doesn't matter the reason, but I would walk beside river and just trying to realize I am consciousness, but I can't. While I'm completely awake even when I focus on something really hard, like touching cold river/feeling wind blow/listening waves, birds, boats I can't understand I'm conscious. I need to strengthen my consciousness and I realize how unable I am to do so.

I don't know how to explain it better, but it feels as I'm not aware of myself completely. When I was reading your replies among others, I had this huge feeling of understanding, but now somehow I lost it. I am typing this right now and I can't say I'm completely conscious.

This morning as my alarm woke me up, I sorta fell asleep again and I realized I was dreaming. I wasn't really tired and it was matter of moments when will I wake up. Almost as I was taking a nap. As I was losing conscious I grabbed dirt from the floor and started feeling it in my hands. My vision went black and I knew if I open my eyes I will open them in real life, so before thinking long I grabbed that dirt and started chewing it. It worked, I managed to stay in dream (I have you to thank for that, if you didn't mention licking a wall, I would probably never eat a dirt rolleyes). Dream went on, was really quick, but I had an interesting encounter. After checking can I fly freely, I immediately went to "summon" spirit guides. That has been my priority ever since SP. Uhm, the moment he showed up before me, actually second later as I was about to start talking to him and ask him all the questions I have, this chains started coming out and wrapping around his body. What I remember clearly are words "Freeze him again for time being" followed up "It's not the right time". It kinda completely threw me out of balance and I woke up. As he was being "taken away" I had a closer look and saw wounds on his upper body (scratches, holes, scars).

And for a second there I was happy thinking I managed to do it.  sad But, okay, I have a pretty good idea why it played the way it has, so my question still remains. How do I boost my consciousness right now, when I'm awake. Please don't say meditation, I need some activity that will help me do so.

I have one more thing that's pretty unclear to me and not sure where to place it, but it seems pretty distant from this, so I'll leave it aside for now.

Isaywhaat,

A seemingly odd question (and maybe a little personal) but are you quite depressed in your life at the moment? This question is related to you struggling to feel fully conscious.

Uh, no, I'm not. I actually feel better than before. What do you mean, is depression connected to feeling fully conscious? In what way?

Being fully conscious is being fully grounded in the physical. When people are depressed a part of them doesn't really want to be in the physical so they are quite ungrounded and usually slightly out of phase with the physical. A simple example would be when you're depressed you may be dwelling on the past or be fearing the future. Being conscious and grounded is partly about being in the present. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of people get into OBEs as a means to escape their lives of sorts.

The outdoor activities you do are very grounding. You are very correct in thinking being fully grounded will help you with OBE practice. It makes the difference more pronounced. For example, there is another thread about simple OBE method utilising sleep deprivation. Obviously a very ungrounded way of doing things in which the veil between physical and non-physical starts to become unclear. Not a healthy way of approaching this stuff. When I teach stuff for TMI we emphasise the importance of being grounded to help you go further in your explorations. I use an elastic band as an example. when it is not flexed that is waking consciousness. When it is fully stretched that can be focus 21. If you are ungrounded the elastic band maybe semi-flexed. You may think you're back in full waking consciousness but you're not really which means the next time you go to focus 21 it is unclear for you. If you are fully grounded the boundary between waking consciousness and focus 21 is more pronounced which makes reaching it easier every time you try.

This is my first time hearing about focus 21, sorta googled it out, I understand it enough to understand what you're saying. Yeah, I'm going out, just walking, running, touching helps me "check reality" to become more conscious because I don't feel like I'm being conscious enough.

What I bolded. That. Can there be other reasons why I feel so ungrounded? I think because I don't feel conscious or grounded enough in this reality is why I can't go and experience a real astral projection.

What happened last night: I went to bed normally and sorta fell asleep. I woke up and realized I was in this semi-dream state, paralized. I figured I can go lucid, but no normal exit technique works for me. I somehow switched on my belly and literally swam through my bed and walls to get outside the room. And there I was, I would say floating, not flying next to my house. I checked around and it seemed like everything looks like in the real world. I decided to go check on my friend but his street was covered in snow. Which is obviously not right, because it's spring. I gave up on visiting him, I figured it won't work because my "memory is outdated". (I didn't visit his house for months now since winter and for some reason, I thought visiting him wouldn't be realistic enough as I want it to be.) I returned to my street and wanted to check if my body is on my bed. I entered the room and saw myself lying on bed. This really uneasy feeling went through me for seeing myself and suddently I started seeing weird expressions on my face. It was like watching egzorcist. When they are exorcizing the demon, that kind of face expressions were showing. Quite scared and shocked I left my room and something happened. I have no idea, I just remember thinking I went full astral. So, I woke up, called my buddy to say what happened, damn was the waking real except it was a freaking false awakening. So, after explaining to him what happened I left the room and slowly lost awareness. After that, for real I woke up like 4 times, everytime going back to sleep so I have no memories of what happened when I thought I went astral. I'm surprised I remember this much.

Point is, after I woke up, I realized it was a dream, it didn't feel "real" enough to be OOBE or Astral projection. And right now, I don't feel awake. I'm touching this keyboard right now, writing and I focus on what I'm typing, but as few moments pass I forget. Almost as it wasn't real and I know it was, cause I'm still typing. What happened 10 minutes ago seems unreal, like it never did. Things that happened in past seem unreal. If I didn't have scars I would think I made them up.

I need to get fully conscious or fully grounded in the physical, but I don't know how. And I know if I can do that, I will be able to do anything, any projection with a little bit of effort. How do I do it? How do I get grounded completely?

Well in regard to your lucid dream I really wouldn't worry about the 'reality' of it all. Some of your experiences may be super real and some may be grainy black and white images. That doesn't necessarily devalue them in any way if you got something useful from it. For example, I did a focus 15 meditation on the train to work several years ago and I got just vague impressions and seemingly intuitive information on a past life. I couldn't really say if I saw any real images or was oob but I did some research afterwards and I found this specific person existed and information about where he lived and when he died checked out. On the surface the experience could have been equated to my imagination if I scored it in reality points but the value of the information was incredible. It served to remove certain belief I hold that restricted my spiritual growth.

There are other threads here that debate what is deemed 'real' in the non-physical that may be good to look at. Also try not to judge your experiences from what you read in books where they seem to have these incredibly lucid accounts. Remember they only print their best stuff. I'm sure they have many more experiences of being partially sighted and unable to get off the bed.

In regard to your ungrounded ness in waking life I'm not sure what to say. All cliched stuff really. Get enough sleep, eat balanced. Meat is a good grounder. Especially red meat. Sometimes mince beef burgers are given to people with strong kundalini symptoms as it is a good grounder. Do you use brainwave entrainment technology? Binaural beats etc? Some of them are not great quality and can leave you ungrounded. I have an article and grounding and some techniques I can mail you when I get home. Not sure how useful they will be though

I find this to be true as well.

I want all people who come here to find assistance reaching their goals.

At the same time, a huge percentage are probably coming here because they are bored with life and want to find a way to bring more excitement to their existence.

Almost universally people seem to find that in this current existence our meaning will be found here rather than there. Gaining skill in projection is an oddly round-about way to discover that. Sort of like a singer who picks up a musical instrument, only to learn they are actually meant to be a singer above all else musically.

The Egyptians got it wrong I think. Our life here probably isn't about preparing for what comes next. We wouldn't be here unless there was a very significant reason to be precisely here.

Uh, no I don't use any of those things, I heard about binaural beats but I can't sleep with music on so it would only disturb me. Never tried tho.

I don't think I need techniques, I need more understanding about what being grounded really means. I'm not judging my experiences, I'm judging my inability to say what makes me being conscious right now more than being in the dream state. That clear line that separates conscious in dream state from conscious in real life is currently unclear to me. I need more information about it so the article would be pretty good place to start with.

I guess it might seem weird how I cannot understand consciousness the way you do and you start questining the reasons behind it, but I just feel like I'm missing out on a part and I want to have a complete puzzle in my head.
