I just wanted to make this topic for those who are very new to astral projection/out of body experiences. Whatever you wish to call it. I been saying this in my posts a lot lately and I hope for any newcomers you will take the time to read this.

When I saw the first video on astral projection that led me to this site, I didn't know what to think. I was lost, and a bit confused. I had so many questions about astral projection and I didn't know where to begin. I know there are so many techniques out there, but in this topic I wanted to stress the importance of INTENT.

When I first started astral projection... the VERY FIRST NIGHT. I had no techniques... I reminded myself "mind awake, body asleep." It was the astral projection video that spirit science put up that got me into this. At that time in my life I needed change. I figured... if astral projection really does exist? This could change my entire life. I took such an interest in astral projection that I would watch youtube videos on it and lurk on forums... etc. Anyway... The VERY FIRST NIGHT I wanted to try to attempt to project... I had so much intent. I never felt so much intent in my life. The simple thought of leaving my body and exploring new things sounded so amazing to me that it's all I could think about that whole day. So that night... I had no techniques at all. I didn't apply any. I just had intent, and was so ready to experience this stuff. I must have laid there for two hours... I told myself if I fall asleep then that was okay. Something else happened. I started sinking into my bed and I saw a huge bright white in front of me and my heart started racing. (It's actually your chakra you are feeling) It actually scared me. (Now I absolutely love when it happens) I messaged a friend of mine who had been doing it for years... He said you almost did it Cody! My very first attempt at astral projection I was so close... but the fear kept me from proceeding. I learned more about the symptoms you get etc... but my main point I want to stress is...

If you are truly wanting to take this seriously you MUST have intent. This is something that you are not going to be a pro at the very first day. There WILL be hurdles, but you jump them and you keep going. It's okay to apply techniques... Go for it! But, if you simply relax... Especially all your muscles... really stretch them out and just let all your physical worries go away... and just simply have the intent and will to have a projection, I promise you it's going to help you essentially. Let me tell you... it is worth it.  grin

So remember!

INTENT
RELAX
Don't give up on one failed attempt!

And most of all... safe travels!
-Cody

You can.  Just hit the edit button.
You can edit your post AND the title.  Or at least you should be able to.
If you can't, then let me know and I can edit it for you.

First-timers,

Everyday, waking-life is an astral projection.  If you are "asleep" during the day, then what good is being "awake" while dreaming or projecting?

Reality testing, appreciation, wonder and awe, these things can be practiced now in the mundane moments.  Lucidity during the day will help your lucidity at night, and vice-versa,

I am pretty new to AP but I get your point, the intent is the most important thing to be successful! This isn't related to AP, but last winter, when I was still lost in a world of drugs and tripping on 4-aco-DMT, I decided to dose again and to mix with methoxetamine... and then just for fun I decided to write this in Word: "Ahh I I made up my mind! Tonight I will try Psilacetin (4-Aco-DMT) and I want to badtrip and end up falling into the darkness...  gonna fall and keep going down never reaching bottom"

Guess what happened next? It wasn't my intent at all, but my thought became real... because thoughts does contain some sort of intent whenever you want it or not.  I totally blacked out for about 15 hours and when I woke up... well I was already up! I couldn't walk or speak well and I felt so messed up... I started listening my recorder which was still on. I heard a demoniac voice, I didn't understand the language, but I knew what it was saying. It was saying "FINALLY WE GOT YOU YOU ARE TRAPPED HAHAHAHA" I became so scared, I read a murder story in the newspapers and started to believe I may have murdered someone because while listening my recorder, I could see a vision through it... I had became a creature and people were afraid of me and a terrible story unfolded. That was very scary... to think it all started with a thought I wrote down!

The astral realm is also called the desire realm, and by what you're saying it seems that you had a lot of desire to be conscious within the astral, so I think your desire to do so really affected your experience as well. The astral is also called the emotional realm (as I'm sure everybody knows) and desire is an emotion and emotions can definitely be a vital catalyst when it comes to these experiences. Just putting that out there for other first timers as well smiley.

This might be the best thing I've read/heard all day.

It's so easy to forget, but even easier to remember. Cheesy
