I got the Gateway experience recordings, I listened to the first one on orientation and I have to say it was very useful for me because I always have trouble visualizing; the directions and the sound really helped me visualize and  even though my newborn would cry at times, I was able to get into a nice trance where I would feel waves of energy through my body.

Then I listened to it again now without anyone around and again I was able to get into a very good trance but got out of it after a while.

That same night I felt the vibrations and I remember I had my eyes semi-closed where I could see some light through my eyes, the vibrations became very intense and I willed my astral body to lift off the bed, I felt my astral body lifting but I could not see anything, at that point I could see through my eyes and I thought that if I opened them then everything would stop, I finally opened them as a reflex I guess but I still felt as I was lifting up, then something weird happened where I felt as if something or someone's hand was preventing me from going up, I felt frustration and after a few seconds I instantly returned to my physical body.

A couple of interesting things, when I opened my eyes the light was the same as when the room is lit up, so I don't know if it was a very good lucid dream even though I remember maintaining awareness or if it was in fact my room and not a construct of my mind.

This is the first time I feel the presence of someone with me, I didn't feel afraid, I did feel frustrated.

I will say I think the Gateway recordings will help me get to a different level, I have listened to them a couple of days now and I see the difference in progression, it's like I have a map now of what I am doing.  I am pretty certain I got to Focus 10 as described by Monroe already and hopefully I get further soon.

That's great! Seems like you found something that works well for you. I gave up on the Gateway Experience after having little success after a few weeks. It seems some people run away with it and others don't. Keep us updated on your progress.  cool

It does work for me.  I was very reluctant to try it because I read a lot of individuals said it does not work for them just like your experience; reading experiences from this forum it seems that there is no set technique or method that would guarantee success, I guess we just have to try as many as possible and stick with what works.

Couple Q's if you ok with it...

How did you visualize pls and do you find the gateway binaruals boring? I found them to be too mediocre just the same "dooooooo" noise going up and down. How did you get round that pls.

Those "doooooo" noises are the entire point of it, so there's no getting around it.  Those ARE the binaural beats.  Smiley

If you find them boring, then you might want to switch to some hemi-sync that set the Binaurals with music.

I had my first OBE after using the gateway experience programs. Really helped me into the vibrational state; no other binaural beats or guided programs have helped me like the gateway experience.

Glad to hear it worked for you too.

Well how the hell do you guys listen to the "dooooo" (lol) noises for like 20 or 40 minutes without getting bored?

As the voice was guiding me to do something combined with the binaural beats i was able to visualize exactly what was being asked.  You're right, I have tried binaural beats before and most times I fell asleep, maybe once or twice i was able to get in trance but I gave up on it so i figured the gateway experience would be the same, but the sound of waves in the ocean, the voice, kept me awake and focus and then the binaural beats did the work of getting my brain ready, so I guess the combination of those three things did it for me.

Can I just ask quickly: how did you know when you were ready?

The same way you meditate/focus/attempt projection without getting bored. Feeling bored is a distracting thought construct you need to rid your mind of.

I started feelings these waves going through my body as it was falling asleep but I was still aware.  Then I also see these cloud like images in a vortex pattern, then I lose the feelings of my limbs, that's when I know i am in trance.

All this happened I think within 8 to 15 minutes.  I think I will wait to listen to them again until my wife leaves out of state for a week with our newborn, the times I have listened so far there were many distractions and I was still able to get in trance so I figure it would be better once i'm alone.

Do you mostly just concentrate on staring at the darkness when your listening or concentrate on solely listening?

As Astral316 pointed out.
You just enjoy the sense of being alone with yourself in quite, contemplative solitude.
If you're getting bored, you should give your mind something else to do while the "doooooo" sound assists you in doing it.  Smiley

Nice, I have also felt something that felt like a hand grab me by the shoulder and pull me back in. I tried to fight it, but couldn't break free from it

Don't see how you cant love that sound. It's so hypnotizing, especially if combined with ocean noises, or sitar, or other such rhythmic sounds.

I personally love the phase pink sounds on the non-verbal sound sleeper cd. Such a relaxing sound as it takes you to 10 then sleep.

Thats more of a...'wooshoowooo' noise. Very pleasant

Just a general comment based on some of the responses on this thead - I dont confess to be an expert but I get the impression some of you guys are considering hemi-sync from a slightly narrow point of view in terms of what you do with it and what you can achieve.

You can obviously try for an OBE with it, however, that is not it's main purpose. Then there is phasing your consciousness through various methods (most popularly using visualizations as Frank put forward) but this is very difficult to do as a beginner. To highlight this consider that if you do residential TMI programs they don't actually teach a method of phasing until Starlines. So you have to do 3 programs before they teach you this method. That shows what an advanced technique it is.

I get the impression some people think it is all or nothing with no middle ground. No experience or full experience.

People may try the gateway tapes for a while and their only frame of reference is Frank's posts so if they don't experience what he purports then they become disheartened. If you do a TMI course you don't start off by racing out your body and whizzing across fantastical landscapes. You starts with taking your cues from fleeting visuals and visions. As an example, one good exercise is to move into focus 12 and simply ask questions and wait for a response. As a beginner your response will likely be a grainy flashing image. If these visions answer the question you asked then you are slowly breaking down self-imposed belief systems that may have inhibited your perceptions of the non-physical. So bit by bit your fleeting visuals my start to develop into coloured visions, then may be sound. You can't expect to go from nothing to full 360 vision just like that. It's like body building. It takes time.

I realise I have raised a question in the above when I say go to focus 12 to ask questions. People will think they can't get to focus 12. Again people may be too conditioned by what they have read in Franks posts ( I know I was. That's not to say what frank says isnt good. I think he wrote some amazing stuff). So when the cd takes you to focus 10 trust you are there. Ok, initially it may not be the deepest focus 10 but you can deepen it with practice.

Everyone experiences it differently. You don't need complete loss of body feeling to be there. Long term TMI facilitator Frank DeMarco wrote in his book that he always had a reasonable degree of body awareness in focus 10 and 12 and he had some amazing past live experiences there.
