Hi Nerezza,

I almost allways use self-hypnosis for relaxing the body prior to AP attempts. When you get the hang of it ,it is incredibly quick and effective. A little stretch ~ count down 5 through 1 with a few suggestions in between~ and that's it. I haven't been working with trance much as I find that it will often occur during the attempt itself. I have to say, I do find self hypnosis very effective and was meaning to look into it a little further so thanks for the link.
I'm nearly sure I have a couple of word documents lying around here somewhere on hypnosis.I'd be glad to share if you want them.

I'm going to try and master this, since the other way is useless to me. Thank God I can move on to more interesting things and not worry about getting into trance. This has reignited my desire to project.

Once you acheieve the 3D blackness state, you notice that the blackness has depth, and is not flat like before.

Pretty much it. It surprised me when it happened, everything got darker but more 3d.

I'm with you.  Relaxing never seems to work.  Either I'm never totally relax, or i'm too relaxed and I fall asleep.  I'm gonna go to that site sometime today maybe.

I'm trying to memorize it all...

The eye movement steps seem to be highly effective; I already tested it out.  I'm sure I can get this by tonight or tomorrow night...

I did not memorize the script to the word, just the flow it was supposed to take.

But I will make my own personal script because my last attempts were a bit messy since I had never experienced such a deep trance before and I got a little messed up in my wording at some points.

For example, I sometimes told myself that my body was falling asleep, which apparently shouldn't be said.

One thing I will try tonight. During the descending of the elevator, I will try and use body awareness to simulate the effect. Hopefully it will work.

I tried again last night and, of course, I fell asleep in the middle of it. I got pretty far in i guess, but I always fall asleep.  In the article, he states that doing this, even if you fall asleep, is a good thing as you will wake up really good off.  Well, call me crazy, but the first time I did this, I went through the entire day feeling like I had fleas. I was itching everywhere.  And today, at about 4 am, I got a "charlie horse" (I wish there was a better name for that) in my calf muscle and it STILL HURTS like MAD.  

Thank goodness for my music! Cheesy

Weird

All I do to obe is listen to my breathing

Eventually I get the vibes..assuming nothing breaks me out of it...they just keep increasing till I eventually lift out

I literally don't do anything but listen to my breath... to obe
=)

although doing energy work before/during/whenever always seems to produce interesting results if im in a deep enough trance

I havn't tried much lately do to job interviews and falling asleep as soon as I lie down, but I will try tonight.

I also tried listening to my breathing, but even then I started to talk and ask myself if it was working.

Hello every one,

Finnally some people are using hypnosis.  Im an Advanced Certified Hypnotist and I have some scripts that can put you into a very deep trans state.

Once your in that state you can give yourself a (KEY WORD) and as soon as you think it in your mind you will go back into that same deep relax state you where in befor.

Then you can change the key word to another word like "PROJECT" and you will again instantly go into trans and AP.

So Speak slow and softly but not a whisper, and in a monotone voice.
When you see (...) in the sentences pause for 4 slow sconds then continue to read aloud the script into a taperecorder. So here it is below this line.

PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION
FOR THERAPY


I would like you to get into your most comfortable position and if you will pretend that you are a rag doll, we will begin …

RECOMMENTDATIONS FOR COUNTING
                   AND OTHER HYPNOTIC PATTER



There are many different ways to take your subject deeper into hypnosis and to have him exit the state.  The most effective method is number counting.  Many hypnotists and hypnothereapists use various forms of counts.  Some use a ten to one count for going deeper, while others use it to exit the state.  Still others may count the same way to deepen and exit the state.  I have found some hypnotists that change directions throughout their induction, deepening, while giving suggestions and exiting hypnosis.  This could be confusing to some people and possibly prevent them from achieving a good hypnotic state.

In my years of practice and research I have found it most effective to use one down to ten to deepen.  Going from a small number to a larger number takes most subjects into a deeper state more rapidly.  Going from ten up to one to exit returns the subject to his normal awareness at the point where he started.  This keeps things simple and consistent.  My logic behind this type of counting is simple.  If you are floating in a pool of water and someone hands you a brick, you begin to float down a little deeper.  If you then are handed a second brick, you float down even deeper.  Now isn’t this the same effect that you are expecting to achieve with your subject?  That is, in a sense, having him float deeper into hypnosis.  If you count from ten down to one, you have no more numbers after one and your subject cannot go any further.  If you count from one down to ten you have numbers that follow after and your subject can keep on going if he chooses.  So, commonsense leads you to realize that more helps you to go deeper, and taking away will help you to return from where you started, at the normal aware state.

The techniques of other hypnotists included in this text, and the texts for my intermediate and advanced course, have been modified to include this counting method.  I have also changed some of the works used, such as "sleep" to "relax," to "drowsy," and "deep asleep" to "deeply relax."  The reason for this is because we now know that hypnosis is not a sleep state at all.  Instead, it is a state of relaxation in which our senses are heightened while our body is relaxed, thus allowing physical and behavioral changes to take place.  Remember to keep your directions clear and your subjects will find it easier to follow your directions.

Thank you for the script Frank.

Personally, I have no use at present for hypnotising others. I do however, find self hypnosis a great precursor to AP attempts. All it takes for me to relax deeply and have my body feeling very heavy is a count down from 5 to 1 with appropriate suggestions in between. One that Ive recently added is " Today is gone. Tomorrow is a day away. Nothing exists but here and now". I find this very helpfull if my mind is racing for one reason or another and I want to quiet my thoughts very rapidly.

Any suggestions on how I can further utilise self-hypnosis with regards to AP?

It's been 3 years of trying, two OBE's but only one clearly and a lucid dream helped me with that one. I have discovered the simple fact that I cannot lie still and wait an hour for my mind to fall asleep.

Therefore I have decided to scrap the whole process and try another technique. Self-hypnosis. It's essentially the same thing, except I get to concentrate on my own voice speaking within my head. I do not have to worry about whether or not im breaking concentration(the old way had me wondering the whole time if I was falling into trance yet), nor do I have to worry about talking to myself(the old way screwed me up here when my thoughts began to wonder). Instead of concentrating on a single though or feeling, I talk to myself and guide myself deeper into a trance.

I've tried this two nights with 100% succuss. I've never been so deep in trance before. But last night was more intense. After a few minutes of guiding myself I decided to switch to body awareness and feel as though I was falling. I cannot believe how deep I was, and it happened within about 10 minutes of trying. It's too bad I was "shocked" back to reality when my brother slammed a door(which was a very strange feeling. It sort of felt like someone had poured ice water on me, without the cold feeling. I couldn't stop breathing in shallow breathes and I my body started to lightly convulse. I've never experienced that before.

I will try again tonight, and when I feel confident in my ability, I will begin my OBE training again.

I wrote this for people who have trouble with the technique in astral dynamics. I have taken that technique and combined it with self-hypnosis and I believe I have finally found the solution to the problem which has held me back for so long.

What I did was to integrate body awareness into self-hynosis. I beleive that the hypnosis part is fine for the begining, but for OBE purposes, it could not work out as well. Towards the end of the self-hypnosis part, I switched to a falling feeling and I stopped talking to myself. By the time I switch I was already in a light trance and very relaxed, so it was easy for me to start the method discussed in Astral Dynamics. I fell deeper into trance until I felt like I was shrouded by complete darkness,(if anyone has played final fantasy 7, the beginning cinematic with the starfield is a good indication of what it look and sort of felt like) and after awhile it looked like I was gaining perception depth within the shadow.

Again this has helped me, so please if anyone has tried this before, or if you do try it, please share.
