Intent?

Why is it that no matter how strong the intent is to go and visit a friend during an oobe I find it impossible to achieve? I visualise the persons house,car and surroundings of the person I wish to visit but never managed it. Any advice?

Personally, I think intent alone doesn't get you anywhere. You've got to know how to use it. How does that work? No idea.

How do you know intent alone isn't enough if you don't know how your alternative works?

With intent, real intent you would do anything to achieve the goal. This includes learning about it..

How do you know intent alone isn't enough if you don't know how your alternative works?

If I spend all day bashing my head against my desk with the intent of writing a thesis I can conclude from my experience whether it works or not without trying to do a handstand at full moon and repeating the phrase "All your base are belong to us." in the process. I don't think trying alternatives or even having knowledge of them is necessary to determine the success of a particular technique.

what are you on about??The question was asked with knowledge that when asking using intent in an ootb, one would and could be given an answer from your higher self, guide etc. Others who have asked have been known to be given a response, even if the response wasn't what we would expect or understand.
From my knowledge from what i have read of peoples experiences so long as you have a real strong desire and are very specific, you can be projected to your desired destination, goal, intent.

The question is regarding being in an ootb environment and having intent to achieve something while there, not preparing before hand but asking at the time. Preparation before hand is a given but may take time to come to fruition.

Being ootb, if you are referring to that place you go to when concious but not in the physical environment, the 'astral' for example then you do need to have some knowledge of its inherent parameters.
The place I am familiar with is limited by the capabilities of your personal imagination.
It is almost infinite in its ability to be moulded to your desires. To go to any place real or not is simply done. Its generally called translocation and can be achieved by intent. Close your eyes think of the location, its sounds, its smells its looks the feelings you would expect to have there then open your eyes and you should be there. If you have ANY doubts about your ability then this will also be presented by the location you see when you open your eyes. Having the doubts is where errors occur. Think of exactly what you desire and you will get exactly that. The stronger your intent the better.

Intent works kinda like this...

Stare at your hand and place the "Intent" to move it.  It won't move.
You can intend to move it all you want and it will never move.

It won't move until you actually MOVE it.

That "actually moving it" is the action of your Intent.

Think about the action BEHIND when you use your intent and apply it this.
