That is really not very much to go on. Any other details? Sensations? feelings? Sounds?

If you were in the clouds then I would say that you were 'out of body', wouldn't you?

If you were in the clouds then I would say that you were 'out of body', wouldn't you?

Suppose it depends on what you mean by 'you.' An out of body experience is not necessarily the same as BEING out / away from / decoupled from the body, since manifest experience is a concoction of the brain based on what the senses tell it. But we don't really stop or start at the skin, do we? Are we ever really "in the body," or are we just "shaking hands" with it?

Following kurt's logic, though, I'd say to you kurai: yes, because your experience was not localized to the proprioceptive consciousness of the physical body, it was "out of" it. But like ancient_one implied, there's not a whole lot to go on here to differentiate this experience between a "dream" and a "projection," which I think is what you were asking. Some would say that all dreams are projections.

There is no spoon... just a Lorentzian mush of energy painting interference patterns that the brain renders into sensorial holograms.

Id say dream, because there is a distinct difference and you stated yourself it was a dream. Obe's are really life changing experiences in that they have the effect of changing a persons perspective about life in general. For a person to simply say something like I had a dream I was falling into clouds says to someone with my experience in obe's it was a dream. Plently of people have flying and falling dreams, but these are so different from obes where you actually do fly or fall and that distinction would be clearly made by the person who experienced it. Obviously by your first statement that distinction was made by you by stating it was a dream.

If it was an OBE you wouldn't have to ask, so I'll go with "dream". Maybe an OBE remembered through a dream, but that's still a dream.

It's a good sign of progress though. OBE's have slipped into your dreams!

I'll second (or third?) the dream suggestion.

I had a "flying" dream (maybe lucid dream or even OBE) last night. Tell me what you think...I can't remember very much except what happened at the end. I was flying around inside a huge factory of some kind. I was probably 100 ft up in the air inside this enormous building. Prior to this all I remember was that I was interecting with several people, but doing what I have no idea. When I was up in the air, I let go of a large piece of flat, clear glass and watched it fall. It kind of flipped and spun around like a piece of paper would if dropped, but it didn't bend or anything. There were people on the floor looking up at me and I don't think they were too happy with me for some reason. Probably had something to do with me dropping that sheet of glass. I then took off out through a window and blasted off up into the night sky, probably several thousand feet in like a second. And the sensation of movement was very real and I was in total control of what I was doing. The next thing I know I was looking down at the landscape and seeing lights and such in all directions. I remember thinking how beautiful it was and then I realized I was flying and that this isn't what I do normally. Realizing that I was flying, I physically woke up and vibrations were present. They faded after a minute or so. I've had dreams like this before, but there are rare. They are crazy fun though. I hate waking up after something like that. So in this "dream" I was so wrapped up in what I was doing at it all seemed so perfectly normal at the time, could it have been an OBE? My expectation is that I would have full waking consciousness, that I would be in the same state of mind as I am sitting here typing this. Are my expectations correct?

Just the other day I was awoken in the middle of the night by a tapping sound on my bed which made me sit up for a moment. I then laid back down and was about to go back to sleep and when I closed my eyes again I could see a small little gray being standing about 4 feet in front of me. After telepathically talking with the gray for about a minute I asked him to leave and then went back to sleep.

When I woke up in the morning I didn't know if it was a dream or not because I was so tired at the time. I realized that it was in fact real but the point is that it can be very hard to tell, especially if you have an OBE in the middle of the night or right when you wake up.
