Hey there, forum. And thank you for giving my topic a gander!

So I had my first OBE when I was just a kid, perhaps around 5 or 6? My mother had tucked me in for bed and she turned the fan on. As soon as the breeze hit my face, I remember that I was suddenly floating above myself! I wasn't scared at all, it was quite fun! I believe I was only floating for a couple minutes, and that's all I remember.
Then about eight months ago, I started getting vibrations when I would almost be asleep at night. The vibrations are usually accompanied with a vision of falling from a ledge, almost like I was dreaming but I can control whether or not to jump. The falling is what starts the vibrations. I soon realized that I only get these vibrations when I have had a nap earlier that day. I soon did some research and thought I had a minor case of Old Hag Syndrome for a while, before doing more research and realizing that what I was experiencing could very well be me on the verge of separating from my body and projecting.
My most recent episode with the vibrations was just this morning, I also learned that if I kept bringing myself back to a ledge and jumping, that I could keep my vibrations going. I was unable to separate from my body, though. I'm thinking it was because I wasn't in the right position for separation, or maybe I focus too much on physically trying to separate from my body instead of thinking about separating. Sometimes when I am in the vibrational state, I let my fears get the best of me since I usually begin to hear something subtle that I know is not there. (But I usually don't let my fears control my attempts).
Now here are my questions: - Is what I experience actually me on the verge of an OBE, even though it's accidental?
- What is personally the best position for you when trying to achieve AP?
- What are some tips you have for me so I can successfully separate and explore?
