I think this only really works well on your back but is there a way of utilizing this tecnnique of laying as still as possible on your back until your body goes numb and just doing your best to relax whilst listening to soothing music or something. I feel there could be potential has anyone had any luck with this?

That's a good first step.

But once the physical body has melted away into the background of everything, you need to continue doing what you were doing to achieve that, but deepen it further.
As you deepen it, the projection reflex will trigger naturally... so naturally, in fact, that you might not even notice it happen.

Direct a intent. Almost demand it.

Just like Willliam Buhlman says, sometimes you need to demand "clarity now" to be able to see and gain further/deeper awareness while out of body. The stronger the intent is, the more likely it is to be "accepted". Demanding is a command and a command is usually "accepted".

Don't just wait: use ferm suggestions, and visualization. If you do it when you wake up after a few hours of sleep, you are better primed for success. Also, have a plan what you intend to do, before initiating the process.

@Baro-san I only have one plan and that's what I been trying to accomplish this whole time, but like I been saying every since coming to the conclusion that I can do this one thing i'm trying to accomplish my projections have come to a stop most people say its me that stopped it, but i'm so close to completing it why would I stop it.. My intentions is to merge with my higher self thru astral projection, and become the being I strive to try to be, I came close twice if you want to know here are the links. I am so desperate now that I have turned to extreme measures, I've turned to witchcraft. i been pursuing my dreams for a long time and when I found out about AP, it just put the icing on the cake that merging with my higher self would help me become what I been chasing since a young age, I started projecting at 20 i'm 30 now, the projections only stopped recently after  I started pursuing the higher self, at first projection was just going to be to tweek my mind and unlock all its abilities, unlock that which is locked within, but it became hard so I then came to the higher self, and been pursuing it every since

I am sort of not knowing what to do still as its not clear as some people say you have to suddenly intend it while you are in a relaxed state and can't feel your body then others say you just don't think more or less and 'let' it happen. Like which is it? I am worried if I think about wanting to project I will break my relaxation state or maybe bring unwanted focus on my physiical body and disrupt the attempt. Sorta confused right now.

You can't try both approaches?  Honestly, the only way you're ever going to truly KNOW is if you try yourself.

Xanth is correct. Time to do some research. Get out your Journal and do some personal investigating. It won't take long until you find out what works and what doesn't.

I have many ways to achieve the same goal. Sometimes one way feels right, other times it may not. I like to go with the "flow", whatever  feels right at that moment.

There are many different techniques to be found here on the Astral Pulse. Pick one and give it a honest go. You can tweak it along the way.

You may be falling into the age old pitfall of focusing on the symptoms that occur half way. You might find it useful to imagine projection as a continuum between awake and dreaming.

When you embark from the awake state you travel an unknown road wondering at which point you will be there. You know about certain signs that you are getting close and that causes you to stop and consider exit strategies prematurely as you really don't have a proper scale to judge where you are on the continuum.

I suggest employing a "what's next" mindset. It is like an extension of the visualization exercise wherein one imagines a thing, changes it, imagines a new thing then changes that continuously. There is always something coming next. Treat the symptoms the same way - "I feel the vibrations" - your thought is not "how do I exit?" or "is it happening"; you want "what is next on the continuum because I don't know how close I am". Once you follow the continuum all the way you will be in a dream reality and would have "let it happen". It is pretty obvious when you have succeeded if you aren't attached to succeeding at the first sign of success.

hmm this is good.... so basically just let go and as things happen just kind of accept it and carry on without thinking too much about it. Do you think if this works out ok they'll be a point where possibly I will just know instinctivly almost when to project? like maybe something like vibrations will be strong or something (if I get any). When you go through it all will you just know?
