Silver Cord

I've read some articles online about astral projection and the so called "silver cord" connecting your physical body with your astral body, and some people apparently have the notion that if this cord is severed, your physical body will die?  I don't see how this could be possible, nor have I heard anything about it on this forum.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

The silver cord, well, as per MY beliefs, does not exist.

Basically, back then, people didn't know much better.  They based a lot of their "otherworldly" beliefs on what the bible said... and apparently, somewhere in there someone mentions a "silver cord".  That's where I believe it all started.

From there it's based entirely upon your belief.

If you believe that you need a silver cord to survive in the nonphysical and expect to see one, then yes, you will see one.  It's as simple as that, as far as I'm concerned.

So no, having your 'cord' cut... won't kill you, because it doesn't exist in the first place.

thats just an urban legend most often you dont even see a silver cord
and you never really leave your body anyways its more like you multy task with two bodys so dont worrie about it

Something tells me that someone projected waaaaaaaay back and thought of a cord and it appeared. He then told others about his projection, they had the thought of the cord in their minds and saw it. Became popularized, until now.

I can imagine the thoughts back then...
I mean, first it was listed in the bible... so that's the first clue.
The second clue is that people would have a hard time believing that one could be COMPLETELY separate from their physical bodies.
So, to make the connection possible for themselves, they would envision a "cord" of some kind connecting the body to the spirit... and this manifested as what we know now to be the silver cord.

All we're telling you is that most people here do not experience one.
We don't believe it's necessary... and with that said, any cord you see, feel free to cut it if you can.  Cause it won't kill you.
