Hello
 
I have had OBEs probably for a decade or more and for the last 12 months they have appeared to stop. My previous journeys usually resulted from early morning/midnight wakings then dozing off into an exit. I would usually have two to three per week and my journeys were becoming more and more intelligent with control.

But last January they stopped and nothing has happened since. I have read that for some people this is common - to go through a period of having OBEs then the experiences stopping.

I have never learned any type of self induced exit but would I assume this is probably my only option to re-initiate the OBEs?

Hi,
As long as you can remember the feelings you have 2 options.
1, Wake up slightly earlier and try a direct method after getting out of bed for at least 2 mins. Im assuming you know how.
2, Place an anchor in your mind knowingly so it will appear in a dream. When it does partly wake up out of the dream so it starts to get fuzzy then apply an exit routine youve used before that fits the dream. This starts a WILD and after deepening your awareness level should get very similar to that of the physical.
It will be easier to do 1,
2, on the other hand takes longer but is more reliable for success.
Its not worth an attempt before sleep, doing this will likely fail and reduce the urge to awaken your awareness in the morning.

You're already familiar with your exit and the unique state of mind when that happens, so you're way ahead of the curve.

I think working on self-induced/conscious exit would be a good step for you now.

Szaxx's solutions are good too because they utilize the method you're already good with.

Of course, there is always the idea that your "self" (whatever that is to you) has chosen to take a break for some reason.  I think everyone needs balance in their life and maybe you needed to focus on some physical things for a little while.

For an explanation of many how to's including direct techniques familiarise yourself first with a read of,
M. Raduga's ebook SOBT.PDF
This is free and easily found with a basic search.
It contains lots of info and has a section on direct methods at page 242.
Id strongly urge you to read the whole book as it reasons with the best technique suitable for you.
