So it has come to the point where when I want to feel the vibrations when I go to lay down, they come within 20 minutes. I am able to control where the vibrations go on my body and the intensity of them, but I am not sure how to exit the body using the vibrations. I can feel body parts move, and my head bobbing in and out of my pillow, but I dont know how to actually exit and have a full blown Out of Body Experience. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you're coming across some awesome signposts! There's a few techniques people use at that point including but not limited to climbing up an imaginary rope or rolling out. Or even just sitting up really fast can trigger an exit, though there's always the chance that you will physically sit up on accident. I had an exit a few days ago where I suddenly sat up and it took me a bit to realize I was oob, haha!

You have to keep practicing to get it right.  Chopsticks gave you good advice.  Have you tried rolling out?  You imagine that you are rolling.  You could imagine that you are swaying.  When you feel yourself swaying imagine the swaying getting bigger and bigger until you exit your body.

Thanks for the advice. I had another episode of vibrations last night, but couldn't seem to intensify them and shortly after lost consciousness and fell back asleep. Next time I will try the swaying and the rolling out method. I've always tried just imagining that my body was sitting up and when I did that I could only feel parts of me move

Where do you get the idea that intensifying the vibes will make you exit?

Reading Journeys out of the Body. Monroe said the vibrations were the key to exiting the body, and from other posts I've read it seemed like intensifying the vibrations would shoot you into the Astral. I've also found the more intense the vibrations, the easier it was for me to move certain parts of my body

It's not intensifying them, you just gotta let them pass.
Don't try to controll them, ignore them as much as you can, by trying to control them you will still be focused on your physical body, even if its numb/paralized. let your mind flow in and out of mini dreams, that will trick your subcounciouss into thinking you are ready to sleep and therefore shut down. What will happen is that this will make you lose the focus from the physical reality and exponentially increase your chances of Exiting.

Practice is the key.

Safe journeys.

You can separate when they are intense and you can separate when they are calm. You can separate as soon as they hit or you can wait for the waves of vibrations to crescendo and fall a few times before you separate. It does't matter.

Sometimes I wait for them to die down because they are too aggressive and it's distracting... at other times I use the distracting buzzing and vibrating as an aid to separate.

If you keep a cool head and focus you can prolong the SP/vibrations and attempt separation many many times.

I'm going to repeat and (I promise) add some to what was already said here.
Monroe wrote JOotB when he was just starting out on both projecting and interpreting his symptoms/experiences.  This is what typically happens when people start projecting- dramatic symptoms (vibrations, energy events, sounds, seizure-like experiences, electricity, you name it.)  Even though no one knows what the vibes are, some of us think that they may be a perceptual mechanism that is felt when the mind is synchronizing itself with changing frequencies in the brain- or the environment- some sort of somatosensory synchronization that happens upon a conscious exit experience.
Because of this, yes, it is possible that synchronizing yourself with the vibrations (which are a sensory phenomenon, not a 'thing' that exists outside of your body) may help exit, not because you are doing something to them, but because you are doing something to yourself; your point of perception (or energy body, or whatever)- like all of a sudden becoming aware of a ticking clock- you synchronize yourself to it to listen to it in harmony, the clock itself never changes.
So what happens is that vibrations are common side effects of conscious projections with perceptible exit (as opposed to waking up to find yourself floating around your body), which, for many people change in character with time and practice, until they happen earlier and earlier in the trance, smooth out, turn into other symptoms (such as floatiness or movement) and end up not being felt at all.
BTW, Monroe found this out later in his career, and wrote a little about it (not a whole lot) in his second book (or was it his third?- I don't remember)

CFTraveler that was probably the best description and explanation on vibrations I've read. I haven't researched to much into the phenomenon because I honestly didn't think it was that intense or an important an indicator of an out of body experience.

Recently I have hit this vibrational stage every night this week, every time I affirmed to myself that I will reach that stage and do a mental rundown to Focus 10 before I fall asleep at night. I lose consciousness for a few minutes and then wake up prior to the pre-vibration symptons, and then the actual vibrations hit. It seems extremely hard to move out of body after that though. I can only get a limb or two to move sporadically, and other parts of my body seem to move in and out without me seeming able to control them. Is that a normal thing to happen? I just want to zoom into the Astral straight away and learn what it is that it has to offer to me :p

If you want to "zoom" to the Astral straight away, stop trying to methodically "climb out" and instead choose a intended destination. If you want to have a RTZ (Real Time Zone) projection, make that intended destination your kitchen or living room. Otherwise, start with a simple beach scene. Then once you get to the beach, you can explore it further.
Some people like to use a rapid river scenario as well. But try to keep it simple at the beginning. Once you get some successes under your belt, you can move on to new "horizons"!  smiley

I haven't had vibrations in years.  I miss them, they're an experience in and of itself.

I also believe vibrations are quite an experience. Anyone who has a very strong vibration episode, have no doubt it is a real conscious experience to them.

Ha yeah it is quite an experience. They're are starting to smooth out more too. When I woke myself up at 4am to try to reach that state, they were very mild, and kind of came in lazily I guess is the word. I dont know if that was just because I was already exhausted though

Hi Twixter, I can only keep the vibrations intense by ramping up the frequency of them. I have intensified them by mentally increasing the volume of the fan sound that is in my bedroom as soon I initially feel the vibrations come on. I was able to have three projections in a row by doing that. I have read somewhere that when you are in the vibration mode, you are actually already in a projection. I thought that was interesting. They mentioned you can just move away from your body either at the beginning of the vibrations or at the end of them.

You're entraining yourself to the fan sounds.  I sometimes do this with the bathroom fan, but it really has nothing to do with transitional vibrations, it just gets you to 'theta' quicker.  Listening to the earhiss (birm's triangle method) also accomplishes the same thing.
