I know this has been asked before, but I wouldn't mind advice all the same.

When meditating I either use the Phasing method of "disinterested" observation of whatever is projected on my eyelids, or I focus emotionally on the vision of something that I love and that attracts me.

During successful sessions I not only get quick 'sonic bangs' and sometimes a continually ringing 'beeeeeeep' sound in my ear, I often also get what I consider to be the famed "vibrations". It's a vibrating and sucking feeling.

When that happens my body usually reacts instinctively by getting very tense until the vibrating sensation stops. I have tried to just relax and let it flow, but that also leads to a gradual decline in vibrational intensity until it ceases completely. If I try to "focus" on the vibrations, however, my cognitive mind takes over and the vibrations stop abruptly.

Do you have some kind of strategy or something that you employ when you reach this stage? I feel that the correct way to proceed in order to project would be to intensify the vibrational state of mind, but I just don't know how to do it.

I have read of course that some people imagine they roll out bed during the vibrational stage and thus achieve the out of body state this way, but like imagining I am raising my hand to look at it (really?) that just makes me feel silly. Like I actually could project that easily? Is there any other technique, perhaps a bit more simple and immediate that you could employ in order to make use of the vibrations?

I actually did that right now, during a 30 minute meditation session while you replied. Getting slight vibrations, I started to imagine the roll out of bed thing. Nothing happened, it just went quite black for a moment. Guess I was falling asleep. Then suddenly, for a micro second or so, in a restricted field of vision, I think I saw my room in high detail, just in its ordinary state, yet brightly lit from my position in bed. The light reflected a myriad of dust grains floating around in a way you cannot see in ordinary daylight. Then it suddenly reverted back to the normal blur of ordinary back of eyelid vision. It felt like a wall.

Not entirely sure what to make of it, but the vision was brightly lit and detailed, which makes me think it might have been something.

Your thoughts are the main navigator of projection, so yes, you need to THINK and apply INTENT. You don't need to try to do anything  with physical like movements. Just imagine yourself standing next to your bed or the door for example and you will be teleported. If that does not happen, that means you are too awake. If you reach strong vibrations, don't wait, act quickly and apply an exit technique, otherwise you will completely wake yourself up and the process will be interrupted. Some people don't experience vibrations. I don't get them if I convert a dream into an AP, but if I do an early morning or an afternoon nap attempts then I experience at least some sort of inner motion, which "wakes my awareness up" upon drifting off to sleep or in the middle of a deep sleep. So, it could go either way for you, but I think if you want to succeed during meditation or trance, you need to imagine that you are some place else during the entire time. Imagine that you are walking, seeing, touching stuff, etc. Just laying there and trying to have your body go numb, but your brain is fully awake, wont do the trick. You need to let your self start drifting off to sleep while doing inner motion or visualization. Tons of people come here and ask the same question, why cant I project, then they describe doing meditation during the day. Well, again, they are too awake. You need to choose a time of the day when your body can fall asleep, but is not completely exhausted, where you can just pass out before having the chance to hold your attention on any techniques for at least 10 minutes. And don't forget affirmation beforehand. They carry a strong message to your awareness, and while you are asleep, your awareness will be awaken and ready to refocus.

I just wanted to point out the silly part.

What's silly about it? 

The other part I wanted to point out is that, yes, it IS just that easy.  Smiley
Most people love to over-complicate things for whatever reason (usually ego-based reasons).

Projection is so easy that you're doing it right this very second and you don't even realize it.

Do not wait for the vibrations to come / be strongest / ebb away, because the 'exact' timing does not matter, you are already in the state and have reached the mark, that's enough for you to know and to go ....

Just call out: "helper!" and stretch out your astral hand (yes, this usually works), wait for your helper to grab it and pull you up/out, they will.

This works for me and many people.

See, what's important here is that you're both using the same "Intent" in order to project. 
Intent... that's the only thing that matters.  In EVERYTHING you do.  Physical, non-physical, whatever... Intent is the only thing that makes any importance.

When you vibrate you need to make something happen!. Vibrations only last say 5 seconds so you need to be quick and aggressive. Try this. Do your method to get vibs and try and do your method while you lie on your side close to the edge of the bed. When you vibrate or sometimes you can sence 1-2 seconds before vibes start. Roll your body of the bed. Your brain will naturally say don't do it, it will hurt falling of the edge of the bed. Prove the brain wrong by doing it. If I am wrong and you fall of the bed in real life then sorry. But the chance of me being wrong is 1% because when you have vibes your pshyical body is naturally frozen. So the only thing that falls of the bed is your inside obe body. When you do fall of the bed you will land so soft like a feather on the floor. Then you can stand up or float or fly and go explore.

As Xanth said, you need to "intend" to separate , roll off the bed and go against any natural logic reaction your may have or think. I personally when I vibrate I stop thinking and just react, I do what ever I can to get myself of the bed. Be it grab a chair with my arm and yank myself of the bed, or I fight, I struggle to get of the bed. Just be creative and your goal being to get of the bed in less then 5 seconds. You are doing everything correct, you just need the next step and that is to just go for it. Worst that can happen is that you fall of the bed. In all the years I fell of the bed, not once did I ever pshyically fall off. So don't worry about it and go and just do it.

Double post by me.  Its does not mater how you got the vibrations.. you have reached the next step. To through a screwball into this is that you can leave the body without getting vibrations.  So maybe when your sences are wondering if they should.. go "should" it . hahaah

I have seen so many people write the same thing as you. You all seem to reach the vibe zone with your ways. Great, But people seem to get stuck at the point of separation. That's why I try and tell people to be quick and do something to get your own self out of your self. Not mentally thinking I will fly out of my body over their. Instead re-create the physical movements you would do when you get out of bed. Replicate that when you have vibes and you will or should exit.

When you have vibes , can you see through your eyelids in the direction your head and eyes are pointed while sleeping?

Great advice. Yes, the bold is mainly what I do! Sounds like being on the right path.

I do not generally imagine myself being in the ordinary world when I imagine sense experience, however, but in "the world of my dreams".  grin

Don't think that would matter though. Obviously, immersion is key.

Sorry. Just my suboptimal command of English. Guess I meant to say it felt a bit awkward, but having tried it I have more confidence in it. Also, I think there might also have been a feeling of contradiction arising: You sail away in daydreaming so intense it gets tactile, and then you are suddenly supposed to do something with your body in the place where you are currently located physically. Somehow you can get the feeling it does not add up...

Not that I always do the daydreaming routine. Sometimes I just go the noticing path, continually registering the (nonsensical?) flow of shapes and form that my consciousness projects on my closed eyelids from within.

Wow, cool stuff to try out! Indeed, the vibrations do only last for a few seconds. Reckon it's evidence my vibrations could well be the "vibrations".

Intent, intent, keep your mind intent on INTENT! No, I mean, be the intention... Hmmm...

Yes, I think - actually I'm quite certain - I was able to for a very brief moment, but otherwise, not yet.

No, apparently, bothering with the timing will destroy the timing and disrupt the vibrations.

I like this, not having to do anything particular yourself, but being able to remain passive and receiving, so to speak.

So many good hints! I need to make a rundown!  smiley
