Really scary experience

 I think of the voices as a barrier we cross when we Phase/OBE. The sounds and voices could be the Collective Mind or Thoughts of many people around you. If the theory of we are all one is true then that would make perfect sense.

Not in most cases. You have an astral experience when you dream. Whether or not you can
retain the dream or not, you still had a dream. That being said, a lot of people
would be getting possessed because they are dreaming.

And who's to say that the people that become possessed don't become that way through dreams?

No it isn't.

Because of the work im involved in, I know that Spirit people cannot inhabit your body and possession is a myth.
I know how long it can take to develop trance Mediumship...and that blend takes time and patients and the spirit people who work at this are spiritually evolved and have an understanding of the energies. There is never one spirit control involved in trance more like ten or so working together to create the right blend of mind and energy and maintain that temporary link.
 Also Trance is "Mental Mediumship" i.e "Mind to Mind" not physical as many people believe...the spirit person does NOT inhabit your body..im sorry but just isnt possible.

I hear voices all the time when I am about to project. Or just in a really deep trance state. I have had my name shouted a few times too. A few morning ago I got a really loud "god D*****!" I don't know what the heck that was all about lol.

The best one I have heard is when I kept pressing snooze to not get up. I pressed it about 5 times. Each with a ten minute time span before the alarm went off again. After the 5th time I started projecting and I heard a "Okay you can get up now!!!" In a really mad older female voice. I said.. "Okay I am up!!! " haha. xD

I noticed I was hearing something that scared the **** out of me. It sounded like a bunch of people talking or rather whispering.I began to wonder if I was actually hearing talking and what was being said. There was also some other sounds that just sounded plain weird.

Either way, is there any way to drown out these sounds? I feel like I'm so close but those sounds creeped me out. I'm gonna try again tonight, sometimes I can get it to happen by telling myself it's gonna happen before I go to sleep, or by sleeping in a certain position.

Hi Leon, I have heard sounds, people talking, music etc usually before or just after being out-of-body. reading up on this I find it is called "hypnagogic  sound" and is a well known phenomena.
Once I  thought I could hear a party going on next door 'in full swing' music loud voices laughter and woke up and there was silence and knowing the people next door I knew there wasn't a party going on. I have done astral travelling, out of body dozens of times and never felt fear, only joy in doing it. Be strong and enjoy.  cheers djed
