Hello,

I got the hemi-sync cds and have tried the first couple tracks atleast 2 times each.  The strange result I keep having is I tend to black out or just fall completely unconscious for 5-10 minutes.  I'm not completely sure how long it is.  But I always wake up before the track ends.  It's the strangest kind of losing consciousness, because I'm awake one moment and the next thing I know I'm awake again and don't know how I fell asleep.  It's kind of strange has anyone else had this happen to them while listening to these or while just practicing going out of body or phasing?

I have a Hemi-sync cd that I listen to occasionally when I have difficulty falling asleep.  I'll be awake up to a certain point, then I drop off.  Then at another point I suddenly wake up for a few seconds then drop off again.  Always at the same points in the music.

The Gateway series.  They teach you how to reach different focus levels that the Monroe Institute teaches.

Froglet, what you describe happens to me a lot. It happens with the same CD and with others.

My guess is it is kind of a good thing, because it tells you that something is working. At some point, instead of just dropping off completely, you should find that you maintain awareness while the rest of you drops off. It takes practice - I've only managed to do it twice so far.

Froglet,

Have you had any success with them? Are they worth the money? I have been trying to phase on my own and not having any luck.

Hi Froglet,

I just got the Wave 1 CD's too.  I will post results later on after I have had a chance to work with them a little bit.  I have had this blackout problem too, before getting the CD's.  Once, recently while I was practicing the noticing exercise, I blacked out after viewing what looked like a movie scene, only it wasn't (I don't think).  It was in full color, had motion and also a light snowy effect like you might see on an older filmstrip.  Next thing I knew, I was awake in my mind but still physically asleep.  It was really weird because I have no idea where I went when I blacked out.  Sounds like it is fairly common though, so I guess the only thing to do is to keep practicing.  Maybe there is a way to go back and recapture the "lost footage" as it were.

Time Traveler, it's still too early for me to give you a good idea.  They seem so far to be really good.  And I've heard recommendations from others.  But you don't need them to phase.  As for myself, I've not used them enough to have a good enough opinion for you.  But I'll post when I do.

i have MP3s of the lucid dreaming series, from a tape. 2 tapes.

the guy talks you through relaxation in focus 10 and then to 20 then listen to rainfall. it usually gets my eyes to REM all around. feels weird. i also fall in and out of consciousness while listening to them! weird!

ive never got an LD from them yet.....but anything with brainwaves is awesome!

It talks about this type of thing in the manual that comes with the CDs. I believe they call it "clicking out". They say it's quite normal to experience it. When I first started the discs, I would be hear Monroe talk, then all of the sudden it would be the end of the track and him saying "wake up". I'd be like "what happened? I don't remember falling asleep".

You could try using just the first track for a while and get used to focus 3. There will be less chance of falling asleep. After getting used to this, focus 10 tracks should be a little easier.

The other thing they say to look out for are sounds that aren't normally what you hear. The other day I could have sworn I heard Monroe call me by my first name during the exercises.

Lately, Saturday and Sunday mornings have been excellent times for me to get good into focus 10. It's much easier than during the week. I wonder what kind of progress I could make if I didn't have to go to work? (Could you imagine a homeless guy laid out on the sidewalk doing Gateway?)

I had much better results last night with track 3.  I believe I made it to a true F10... it was neat feeling to say the least, with my body actually asleep and my mind still awake.

I have Wave’s I - VII and had the same “clicking out” experience each time I moved to a new Focus.  It seems that we have trouble ‘bringing back’ the memories during these experiences.  As you have found with Focus 10, just keep listening to the tape until you remember what happened.  When you stop “clicking out” then you can move on to the next focus level.  I’m currently experiencing the same thing with Focus 21.
