Hey guys,

Over the last few weeks, I have stepped up my meditation practice sitting for longer and more regularly.

I was hoping to start making some progress toward phasing and AP in general since for the most part, I am projecting maybe once a month sometimes less...

My problem is that lately every time I meditate I am experiencing uncontrollable spasms in my face.

I have tried to control it and readjust during the meditation which helps for maybe a few seconds.

I have also tried to simply go with it which usually ends in me contracting into one long gurn.

My eyes blink hard and fast, the sides of my eyes and forehead twitch, my nostrils flare, the tip of my nose shakes like a bunny rabbit and my lips curl.

It also sometimes feels like there is energy swirling inside my face and my eyes follow the swirling up and down making the shape of an infinity symbol.

Anyway, does anybody know is this something that will go away on its own or is there anything I should be doing to create more calm amongst the chaos?

Any links or reading material will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Urshebear and welcome back!  smiley

I have a condition known as Trigeminal Neuralgia. It began shortly after I got a really intense flash from a Light/Sound machine that I was given for Christmas.

When I closed my eyes to focus on the darkness before my eyes or even closed them to go to sleep, my trigeminal nerves in my face would spasm violently and uncontrollably. It was so much that further NP exploration was halted for a while. What did occur from it though is I was taught the Art of Tibetan Dream Yoga. When I attempted to sleep, I had to keep my physical hand against my facer to clam the nerves. This would go on for sometimes hours on end. I would go into a Dream cycle, be totally lucid, then that cycle would end and it was on to the next one.

The way I learned to overcome this was to immediately change my focus over to my "Mind's eye" upon just closing my eyes to go to sleep. It was like switching screens and it almost instantly turned off the focus on my physical body.

I still attacks from my Trigeminal Neuralgia. Mostly those are caused by bright lights/glares here in the physical. That's why I wear glasses day and night known as Theraspecs. They are made for people that suffer not only light sensitivity, but also bad Migraines.
