I get high on real weed or phantasy joints.  I can smoke air (lol), all is drugs, all is excitement and euphoria.  Let the oxygen head rush fill you so you crash, stay up for five days on hard, then crash for six in transcendental love.  Sex can get you high, I like my orgasm on demand.

You can get high just by breathing meditation.  You can also give yourself a head rush and force all the blood to your brain, but you can only do this about five times every ten years, or you will explode the viens in your neck.  I know, my viens got pretty sore, so I had to stop.  Not only that, but it stops your heart for about twenty seconds.

Well, life is more than skin stretched over bone.  It's more than the inner fruit and blood.  At the same time, it doesn't have to be, you can live and die, and dream your way into something that you want.  Flesh when flesh, spirit when spirit, yet, I've heard that the Buddhists say that there is no duality.  All is spiritual, or, Cosmic.  All but the Divine, which heads and creates all things.  Well that's what I figure.  But really, you can smoke imaginary drugs, it's the cheapest way to get high.  They really work too!  Just don't become an addict!

Well... pure oxygen would definitely have a striking effect on you, believe it or not.

Joseph Priesetly, one of the first people to figure out how to isolate it, by evolving it from Mercuric Oxide, wrote:  "The feeling of it to my lungs was not sensibly different from that of common air, but I fancied that my breast felt peculiarly light and easy for some time afterwards." 

Another time he called Oxygen "the good air", lol, because he had been experiementing with breathing pure oxygen atmospheres, and it made him feel powerful and invigorated; it is clear to me he had no idea what he made though, or what role oxygen plays in biology. The best the 18th century understood oxygen was that it was the one particular thing fire seemed to require.

Funny I just saw this, I've been pondering this question for the last week or so, but I was thinking something along the lines of..... say if one were to project inwards (Focus 2 of consciousness), and were to simulate whatever high, be it smoke a virtual joint or whatever technique, would it then be possible to keep this feeling upon returning to Focus 1?

F2 is already another state of consciousness... at that point there is no reason to alter your consciousness. Imagine having a great OBE with good clarity. Why try to lessen it?

sex is like getting high, and we can have sex with ourselves, isn't there something they call tantra which elongates the natural euphoria of sex, or sexual stimulation... i think it depends if you focus on it, but i don't know the trick
oh yeah man, you can smoke invisible drugs, drink invisible whiskey, if you want to try to practice self stimulation, try pretending that water is whiskey or something like that
emotions can also be addictive, you can get emotional by watching movies, porn, cartoons... i just watched some Golden Girls, laughing and crying, and i gotta say, it feels good.... been crying for other reasons too, which i can't exactly say on these forums
you can control your emotions, phantasy of a basic nature can assist the process of arousing new emotions
i think that we choose our drugs based on how we react to them, a monk wouldn't have to do drugs, and if he did, he would be impervious to it's effects, that's what i was raised to believe, from comic books and other sources
