Author Topic: A Basic Question  (Read 266 times)

I find it so immensely annoying when I see people raving about stuff which is clearly nonsense. For example, conspiracies in general - in particular, Biblical conspiracies! Those are cases of nonsense built upon a foundation of nonsense. Fiction on fiction on fiction with bad evidence and nonsense arguments.

Now, what occurs to me when I get worked up about what I consider nonsense beliefs is the fact that Robert Monroe makes claims which are, from most points of view, as crazy as new world order Biblical stuff.

So to most people if I told them about Monroe, I'd sound as crazy to them as the people who annoy me.

My point and question is this - how do I know I'm not as batshit annoying and crazy as any average religious person? Because at the end of the day, the experiences I've had are only subjectively interpreted anyway.

I don't mean to disrespect religion, but that is exactly my point; how can one find any objectivity anywhere? Or are we all stuck in belief traps?

Since I know this is a very basic question, and there are probably existing threads already, I'd be happy if you could link me to such discussions.

Personal experience tells me otherwise, but then I stop and think - personal experience also taught people who convert to Christianity that they've done the right thing.

Define "the average religious person".
Because most of the people I know who are religious simply accept a story they've been told, while others have had sublime experiences that religion gives them an explanation for.  However, most of the 'aggressive' religious people I have met are of the first kind, and not the second kind.
However, most of the people I know who talk about AP and other 'clarient' abilities, had the experience first and then found a name (and a story) to go with it.
Of course, experiences vary, nothing is that simple and straightforward.
Hence my  first question.

To be honest, I regret posting this as it serves no real purpose.

All I was really asking is how we can find any objectivity in a sea of such subjectivity - and essentially, therefore, what makes us any more right than someone who believes in a religion.

And I usually get angry at people who believe in conspiracies of the sort that the world's leaders are actually reptilian aliens! But then I stop and realise I probably sound equally crazy, so I have to look over my reasons for thinking in the direction I do.

But my whole family is religious, and they're pretty much what I'd consider 'average' in that they believe what most other people around them believe. If they dedicated the time and had the courage to read more about spirituality from a perspective outside of the religious one they've been brought up in, they'd probably start to realise the same things I did.

To be honest, I find it quite fascinating how I ended up finding and gaining the patience to read Robert Monroe's books with an open mind as a Christian. I suppose I was ready for it and open to it.

think about this when one raises energy to do what ever AP/OBE etc
same goes for emotions as in for example confrontations confrontations=emotions emotions=energy just like ya raise energy to do what ever associated with sites as this... except a little different
different religions conspiracies and what not generate confrontation and that generates emotions and those emotions are energy this energy from these emotions mostly fear/devastated confrontations and the like are energy which is used to run the world/s system/s... complicated
we have a new way of reproducing/duplicating this energy now so as we don't need these fear/confrontations etc emotions=energy to run the world/s system/s...but the system that causes these emotions has yet to change soon it will change for the better of all... long story...

good luck
