Hi Vineyard.
I enjoyed reading your story. You gave a nice, detailed introduction about how you "woke up" and started investigating and rethinking your current paradigm of life the universe and everything. I can empathise with you about how you are currently feeling because I too have undergone a dramatic paradigm shift in a short period of time and sometimes feel bursting to share my new insights with others. However: No matter how "enlightened" I feel or how sure I am about my new discoveries I try to keep reminding myself that (yet again)
I might be wrong.
It's a shame that most of the replies so far have been so disrespectful and non-constructive, especially considering the fact you were actually making an intelligent argument as opposed to preaching mindlessly. But I know I can be this way too often enough. It's difficult to keep an open mind.
Anyway, getting down to what you said. Here are some things I would like to point out:
Back in February/March I decided to Google " World War 3 " just for fun. What I found was that a prophet called Baba Vanga predicted years and years ago that World War 3 would begin in November 2010.
[...]
Remember what I said about World War 3? That Baba vanga predicted the outbreak in November 2010. Well, North Korea attacked South Korea on Nov. 23 so I guess she was right all along. Of course the media won't report that a WW3 just started and the war itself hasn't officially started but the trigger was Nov 23. World War 2 didn't officially start until 1941 with the Pearl Harbor attack which the US government admitted to have foreknowledge and they also PROVOKED Japan to attack them.
From my experience I would guess that most Christians won't acknowledge the validity of such prophecies. The Bible condemns what I interpret to be "all things psychic" in many passages. Here's a quote from Deuteronomy 18 v9-13 (NIV):
"When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; because of these same detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God."
Baba Vanga claimed to talk to invisible beings (demons?), dead people and aliens. (Aliens are another topic which make traditional Christianity difficult to hold on to.) So if you are a Christian now: How can you accept or endorse Baba Vanga's work?
Even the fact that the Bible history spans for about 4000 years (AD), which would mean the world was created by God 6000 years ago, was true. The world is in fact 6000 years old even though billions of years is the common way to explain the age of the Earth. It's all lies from the pits of hell. The only thing you know about the age of the Earth is what you've heard in the books and television. Never did it occur to you to investigate on your own. Even the Carbon14 method is supporting a young Earth and C14 can NEVER give millions of years.
[...]
Let me get back to the talk about the Earth being a few thousands of years old. This is going to be hard to swallow I know. For years you've been told that the universe began 15 - 20 billion years ago and that you was created from bacterias 3 - 4 billion years ago. For years you've been told that. But you've never been told in school that the world is 6000 years old which the Bible suggests. Let's dig some deeper shall we?
I'm not going to give you the tons of facts I have stored but I can give you some basics, OK? Here's a link to Kent Hovinds' seminars. He's truly a great man and peoples' lives have changed after watching his seminars.
http://freehovind.com/watch-4308235066145651150What you're saying here is essentially that our society has been spoon fed "knowledge" (about the age of the earth) which we assume to be true despite the debatable evidence it is based on. I agree with you on this and think this is a very valid point but I doubt the evidence we have points so much more clearly towards a 6000 year old earth. Even if we assume this to be true this is only a tiny step towards accepting that the Bible has any shred of truth in it and
extremely far from "proving" that anything else in this book regarding how the world was made, who or what God is and what He/She/It is like, where we go after we die and so on.
PLEASE WATCH ALL HIS SEMINARS! PLEASE! THIS IS TOO IMPORTANT TO MISS! YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE I PROMISE!
Watch all of his seminars and I promise you that you will never see the world the same way as you used to do. I promise.
Making promises like this is ridiculous. They severely taint your credibility and make me question how objective you are capable of being.
What I discovered about the Bible was truly amazing. Everything was true. Every single word the Bible said was true. Every prediction has come true and some predictions are yet to come true.
The Bible makes a lot of statements that don't appear to make sense. Leviticus 11 v20 (NIV):
"All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be regarded as unclean by you. There are, however, some flying insects that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper. But all other flying insects that have four legs you are to regard as unclean."
Then there also quite a few things that the Bible doesn't seem to be sure of itself. Like after Jesus' resurrection when Mary and the others (different constellation of people in each of the gospels) reach the tomb is it empty or is there one angel or are there two? Also what's with genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 v2-17 as opposed to Luke 3 v23-38?
There is a lot to say regarding predictions in the Bible:
1. The Bible is not the only source to make predictions which have come true. There have been prophets and psychics from all kinds of religions (even many without a religion) which have made accurate predictions. Also predictions are made all the time by researches and scientists and housewives and just about everyone else which have turned out to come true.
2. Some of the predictions made are ridiculous. Here is a quote from Genesis 3 (NIV):
"So the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.” "
This takes place in the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve have eaten of the forbidden fruit, stand before God blaming each other (Adam blames Eve who blames the Serpent) and are judged by Him for their actions. I don't know what you were thinking when you read this but it is considered by scholars to be a prophecy about Jesus winning the battle against Satan! And it is actually used as proof that Jesus is the Messiah because he fulfilled 1337 (or however many) prophecies made about His coming.
There are many more examples like this in which I get the impression that some kind of meaning is superimposed into old texts in retrospect to make it seem like something was predicted from the beginning.
3. Many predictions are easy to make and/or very vague. For example Matthew 24 v6-7 (NIV):
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places."
4. How can we validate the predictions from the Bible? Most of the evidence for them coming true comes from the same place: The Bible.
Ask yourself this. Who created your soul? There must have been a Creator. The Universe didn't create itself out of nothing. A creator did it. A designer. God created your soul. He created you. He knew you even before you were conceived and he promise you an eternal life as long as you call for Jesus and repent of your sins.
The argument that everything needs to have an origin or a creator of some source is actually fine with me. Inferring that this cause must be God creates a system which is complete and makes sense. The whole "Who created God?" question has always seemed to me like ridiculous teasing from people who refuse to get the point because by definition God is the source of everything, where it all began.
However, just because this system makes sense does not mean it must be correct because there are other equally plausible explanations. For example: Imagine a system with two, three, 100 or 1.000.000.000 "Gods". Maybe these "Gods" (we could also call them "souls") are infinite and don't require a creator (just like the one God in your belief system). Maybe they created the universe.
Once again, even if we assume that there must be a God it still doesn't imply that He/She/It must have any of the properties of the Judaeo-Christian God and it certainly doesn't support the concept of sin or redemption or believing in Jesus, etc.
If this doesn't strengthen your belief and make you religious then that's up to you but let me tell you this. We're all going to heaven one day and face our judgment. Most will go to hell. Most people believe hell is not a real place and more like a device used by the church to scare people. This is wrong. Can you honestly say that you know for a fact that hell is not real?
Can you honestly say for a fact that hell is real? If so, how do you know this?
If you watch the seminars above and come to the conclusion that God exists and created the world 6000 years ago you MUST come to the conclusion that hell exists.
Wait, what!? That's a collosal logical leap you are making there. If I come to the conclusion that God exists and that the world is 6000 years old that still doesn't imply anything about heaven, hell, sin, judgement, redemption or the afterlife.
If everybody would follow the Bible and do what it says there would be NO sufferings in the world. Absolutely nothing! And still some people claim the Bible is bad.
This is true for many belief systems such as Islam or Buddhism. This alone doesn't make the system a good one.
That's wrong... you're leaders are bad!
What do you mean by "our" leaders? Do you mean non-Christian leaders? I can assure you that there are also many bad Christian leaders.
What can we expect in the future? Well... Israel will go to war with Iran and USA will join them. North Korea will most likely attack South Korea and Russia, China, USA and Japan will join. (I actually had a dream about it last night). The dollar will collapse within 1 year. The debt bubble is SO HUGE that it's going to break any minute. Never before has the debt been so great and massive. The collapse will make the great depression look like a picnic. The great depression was engineered just like the financial collapse in 2008 which we're in right now. It was all engineered and caused by printing to much money. Anyway... the dollar will collapse within 1 year and we will have wars all over the world. World War 3 will start and HAS already started. Forced vaccinations will kill many people and in 2015 the globalists will finally have an excuse to implement the New World Order because of the huge war. That's the perfect excuse. A one world government, one world religion, one world military and a global currency.
The RFID Chip will be injected in your right hand and it will be used as a digital one world currency. Money will not be used any more and without the RFID Chip you won't be able to buy/sell. The Bible says that whoever takes the mark of the beast in his right hand will burn in hell for without the chip you won't be able to buy/sell. The RFID Chip IS the mark of the beast and if you take it you will burn! Everybody will be forced to take this chip so be careful who you talk with.
It's cool you made some specific, verifiable predictions. I'm intrigued to see how things play out.
Some of you will probably laugh and forget all about this but some people who are not ignorant will at least give it a shot. You're free to do whatever you want and I strongly suggest that you study the Bible and the words.
Thank you for this suggestion. It seems the Bible has had a great impact on your life and I'm grateful you are willing to share your experiences and your discoveries with us. Unfortunately time is limited in our physical lives so we can't look into each and every religion or belief system therefore I can understand why many people would ignore this suggestion.
Thanks again for sharing. I hope you keep an open mind and keep evolving spiritually. If you earnestly seek the truth I'm sure you will find it.
