Stories have to come from somewhere.

before anything was written down, it was a verbal story.

many modern tribes still don't write down their history, it's passed from generation to generation orally.

i assure you that story was written down elsewhere before it became what we know of as the bible.

Oh I know that they took storys from diffrnt beliefs and culture. I'm just amazed that 2 kings 19 and   Isaiah 37 copied itself from word to word is all.

It isn't just word for word but syllable for syllable. Many of those stories were not just stories but invocations. To alter even one syllable would be blasphemy. In gematria even one letter in a word could not be changed.

When the Isaiah Scroll was discovered scholars were astounded at how this ancient book, a thousand years older than any other known copy, matched the modern version -- almost exactly. Now *that* was pretty impressive.

Plus, if a story is retold within another story it would not be so surprising. If a modern author put part of Humpty Dumpty into a book and large parts of it matched word for word a much earlier version, no one would call it plagiarism.

A lot of the Bible is Midrashic comments about other parts of the bible- that's why I always cringe at the idea of it being throught of as 'prophecy'.

I hate it when they do that. 3 beliefs in one book and they tap dance around verses to suit there beliefs. A Jew once said "if god wanted to start a new religion he would of told us about it." our history is so messed up....
