Avatar Image Problems

About a week ago my avatar image will not show. I only see the small replacement image. I have tried to change it with different images, both from a url and from a file stored on my hard drive, every time resulting in the small replacement image as before.

That is funny, because it said you have been here for precisely a week, lol, so that must mean from day one.

Maybe the image is incorrect scale? I know that the avatar function likes images on the smallish size more toward thumbnail scale.

Change size to 64 x 64 max.

Tried what you suggested. Got this,

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

Ok, You need to place your avatar in dropbox or similar and use the other method to find the link.
The one you are trying to use has been disabled for security reasons. Spammers ect.
I had the same trouble in the beginning, although the problem was resolved I still haven't added an avatar.
