Number of posts: "leet"!??!

What does it mean "leet"?

Below my "number of posts" instead of a number i only see that word..."leet"

Oh...i think  i see the problem...due to some kind of error, the number 1337 was readas the word leet (1=l   e =3  and 7 = t)

1337 is net speak for leet (elite) - a term usually used in gaming communities . it seems the people who coded the boards put a few 'easter eggs' in like that .

but i think that the number for elite should be

Doesn't the term leet have something to do with "l33t" sought of typing as well. Or hacking?
