Why do some past posters now have "guest" near name, and no account?

Why does this happen exactly? Does it mean that they deleted their accounts, or had them deleted by a moderator? Does it just happen with lack of use?

I have noticed Nay and some others no have no accounts associated with their posts... I always wondered what that meant.

I don't administer this forum, but I do administrate another one which uses this same template, and it allows for a poster to delete themselves without deleting their posts.
So if this one is set up this way, it's possible to do.
Now, Nay used to be a mod here, so chances are she had the capability, regardless of whether it can be dome by a regular member.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone can do that. Tayesin was our most recent I believe.
