Why can't I upload my avatar? The function is there but after it says it wasn't saved?

The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

Oh that.
Upload your avatar to an image site and then link to it.

I don't think we can actively upload avatars here anymore.
