Internet explorer crashes after post or pm

There hasn't been any other word of those error messages occurring here as far as I know, but I'll look into it. It sounds like you've done everything you could with the reformat and reinstall.

There is an open source webbrowser that is a free download at the following link:   http://www.mozilla.org/ I use an earlier version with my linux os, however I understand that the Mozilla 1.6 version has a lot of nice features and you can download lots of additional themes from the following site: http://themes.mozdev.org

It seems to happen randomly, but other times it happens only when I expect it. I hope I'm not causing it with my mind.

As Nick suggested, there has been no other reports of this problem at all. Most members are using IE6 myself included.

I must admit that you were very keen to sort it out doing a reformat and reinstall! I am only disappointed for you that it did not resolove the problem.

My inclination is to think it might be either a hardware problem, or a conflict with another piece of software on your system.

You might also want to check your cookie settings, and also whether you have security software installed such as Norton which is very aggressive in many situations. I get alot of support emails that turn out to be Norton oriented or suspected.

After I send a private message or make a post, internet explorer gets an illegal operation or something like that and shuts down. It is much less likely to happen if I'm not logged in for a post.

This problem still occurs even after a reformat and reinstall of windows (for other reasons).
