Title: Risk in meditation and energy work

There is a lot of lit. on this subject. I suggest that you start by reading what RB says in AD. that should cover most of your questions.

Hi Xanaxjj

As Astralmaster has said there is a lot of literature on this and if you look through Roberts articles attached to the main page Im sure you will find something.

But give you a simple answer, yes the activities you listed will make you stand out more to nasties, but if you are of a sound state of mind it is very unlikely anything serious will happen to you. Its like being struck by lightning, eaten by a shark ect. Infact being worrid about such things is more likely to draw them to you then anything else. So na, unless you are prone to psychic attact or nasty entity related things, or you suffer serious depression I would not be  too concerned.

To attract unwanted human based attack you first have to motivate a person to devote a lot of time and energy to harming you. And unless you are fearful negs will pretty much leave you alone. The human being is a powerful creature. But while the odds of a shark eating you might be slim a person would be stupid to forget there are sharks in the ocaen, lots of them. Hope this helps, if not please say so.

regards

David

The biggest challenge I have found is that meditation and working with energy do not stay isolated from the rest of life. There have been various disruptions to my usual routine because as I change the routines don't fit as well. Worse, when thoughts and emotions which were not dealt with in the past bubble to the surface they do not always do so when I am in a position to deal with them. Often it just feels like my beliefs and relationships with other people are being challenged from somewhere outside of me, but it is really from within.

thanks muchly for replying, Fenris and everyone..  you've helped a lot...   but what ended up helping me most of all is that someone who is training me in magick [and hence meditation, energy work, and oobe], just reminded me that months ago, he commited himself to protecting me...as in, anything that tries to harm me has to go to him first.. . i guess i misunderstood when he had told me before.... and i am also well reassured by you that not much of anything hostile happens normally.... unless you fear or provoke...nice to know i can just be free and experiment, basically...but nothing that is obviously crazy...   i think i have just been overly trepidatious about these things lately...probably from thinking of what-ifs from reading too much about defense and protection... though i haven't yet ordered PPSD... Thank you all.

i wonder if just practicing meditation, experimenting with other states of consciousness, energy work, and trying to project could make one vulnerable to outside influences.
