Seems this projecting businesss is like bowling. When you don't know anything about the "proper" way you succeed astonishingly well but once you start trying to do it intentionally and with some technique things degenerate quickly. Trying is the key word in my opinion or rather trying too much.

I think that even though it seems the goal recedes further and further into the horizon it may well be that it's only an illusion. We learn but it doesn't manifest the way most other things do. Personally I've made a couple of breakthroughs only recently and after banging my head against the learning curve for longer than I thought I could persevere.

I know you're not asking for advice but I can't help telling you this: Increase the vibrations until you feel as if your going to explode, and see what happens. Alright, just ignore me lol

Okay my thoughts are: much of what we learn goes 'under the tables'. We can't perceive unless we take a look at the big picture. The informations that you get across in the dreams are all stored/flowing in your subconscious, and it means they're not instantly available to the conscious mind.
That is why it's helpful to keep a dream book, a diary, and take note of every and each step you take and it's outcomes, so that you can see it clearer and understand how it all turned out.

Do you have any doubts that the things you've experienced in this life are not part of you now? Sorta like, incorporated?

Sorry jilola, for me the key word is 'belief'. If you believe in God then 'it' can really make miracles for you, but if you don't there's no point in praying to 'him'.

Believe you can, believe you can't, either way you're right.

it does seem the more i try and learn about this, the harder it gets and the less i succeed.  since this is something that we unconsciously do everynight, it would make sense that any attempt to formulate the process would slow it down to say the least.  it's just very hard to just do it, if you don't know what to do.  i'm trying to lay back and just let it happen now after eight months of dedication.  i'm not sure how it's working out yet, however, i do feel better about doing the practices knowing that i'm not pressed for any particular outcome, and am just doing the practice for it's purpose.  i'll let you know how things go.

Greetings!

Yes, everyone does indeed leave their body each night in a body asleep/mind asleep state.

The objective is to get to body asleep/mind awake, an you are most of the way there.

Around that time you should see hypnagogic imagery, at which point you can phase into the Astral by a technique you will hopefully have in mind beforehand.

At his point, some people try to induce vibrations, or they just come anyway, in my opinion you should ideally aim to enter the Astral before this stage.

Please see the Gateway Wave 1 topic in the Astral Consciousness forum for more ideas and information.

With best  regards,

Adrian.

.. Hi, to make it short, the first time I ever tried to have an OBE, roughly... 3 years ago I reckon´.. I hadn´t been reading THAT much about it, I had read just a few versions/techniques about how to proceed, and since I believed already back then that it must be possible since so many report it and since I have a very open mind - I thought, Hey, I´ll try it, I can´t more than fail...  and so I lay down on my back in my bed, and started to go through my body, relaxing every part of it until the point where I was rather satisfied..  and then I simply tried to visualize, well more trying to induce the feeling of waves of energy going through my body - and guess what, after just a few minutes (I think) I layed there in my bed feeling as if... as if I was starting vibrating...  it felt so surreal and a bit frightening, I remember thinking to myself that I must calm down, but as the vibrations increased and increased I couldn´t, it got to the point where it felt like I was vibrating in lightspeed, very surreal...  my heart was pounding like Crazy, but I wouldn´t ´give up´, and even though I had NO, Zero, experience of OBE´s I felt I was SO close, but after another few minutes the vibrations faded and there I was, excited as hell, AND thinking "Shite, if I could come this close on my first attempt, not knowing so much about tricks and procceedures, this must be very easy and if I don´t succeed next time, I will deifately the third time..."

How wrong, I´ve tried alot of times since that first one attempt, and even though I fairly easy reach the vibrational state, I haven´t yet projected, and it feels as if there is quite some way left...

I am not gonna ask you about advice and stuff on how to procceed frmo the vibrational stage, but I am curious on what you think about this...  Normally in life, you do not succeed trying something the first time, but as you practise, you´ll get better and eventually you succeed....  that pattern has been there in every aspect of my life, as I´m sure most of yours, but not when it comes to OBE.
I was closer back then, then I am today, to project...   it doesn´t make much sence I must say..  perhaps I didn´t expect so much back then, and was more detached to the outcome? Perhaps I try to Much today...
I have learned there is more like me, who made better attempts in the beginning, even succeeded projecting, than they do after some time experimenting and learning more about it "astral projecting".....

SO, can you give me your thoughts on this?
