Title: Parabola Post by: manuel on April 10, 2003, 11:56:47 Amazing video i must say, have you heard the lyrics for the song??
check em out... tool- parabola We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment, We are choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion. Alive, I In this holy reality, in this holy experience. Choosing to be here in This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal All this pain is an illusion. Twirling round with this familiar parable. Spinning, weaving round each new experience. Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing. This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal. All this pain is an illusion. cool! Rob Title: Parabola Post by: bentheogen on April 14, 2003, 17:19:32 the lyrics to Reflection are unreal as well..
i have come curiously close to the end though beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole defeated, i concede and move closer i may find comfort here i may find peace within the emptiness how pitiful it's calling me... and in my darkest moment, feeble and weeping the moon tells me a secret, a confidant "as full and bright as i am this light is not my own and a million light reflections pass over me its source is bright and endless she resuscitates the hopeless without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting" and as i pull my head out i am without one doubt you wanna peer down here, survey my narcissism i must crucify the ego before it's far too late i pray the light lifts me out before i pine away so crucify the ego, before it's far too late and leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical and you will come to find that we are all one mind capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable so let the light touch you so that the words spill through and let the past break through bringing out our hope and reason before we hide away... Title: Parabola Post by: lateralus897 on April 14, 2003, 17:37:34 Well, while we're on the topic, I'll post the lyrics for Tool's "Third Eye."
Dreaming of that face again. It's bright and blue and shimmering. Grinning wide And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes. On my back and tumbling Down that hole and back again Rising up And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye. In... Out... In... Out... In... Out... A child's rhyme stuck in my head. It said that life is but a dream. I've spent so many years in question to find I've known this all along. "So good to see you. I've missed you so much. So glad it's over. I've missed you so much Came out to watch you play. Why are you running?" Shroud-ing all the ground around me Is this holy crow above me. Black as holes within a memory And blue as our new second sun. I stick my hand into his shadow To pull the pieces from the sand. Which I attempt to reassemble To see just who I might have been. I do not recognize the vessel, But the eyes seem so familiar. Like phosphorescent desert buttons Singing one familiar song... "So good to see you. I've missed you so much. So glad it's over. I've missed you so much. Came out to watch you play. Why are you running away?" Prying open my third eye. So good to see you once again. I thought that you were hiding. And you thought that I had run away. Chasing the tail of dogma. I opened my eye and there we were. So good to see you once again I thought that you were hiding from me. And you thought that I had run away. Chasing a trail of smoke and reason. Prying open my third eye. Title: Parabola Post by: bentheogen on April 15, 2003, 08:48:16 good song 3rd eye.
i really love the bill hicks sample too. he is (was) also a genius. i can't belive he once opened a show for tool. that would have been a life-defining moment for anyone in that audience! "Wouldn't you like to see a positive LSD story on the news to hear what it's all about perhaps? Wouldn't that be interesting, just once? "Today a young man on acid realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather..."". - Bill Hicks [:)] Title: Parabola Post by: sublime on April 16, 2003, 00:35:42 TOOL rocks (musically) and are just scary in all other aspects. They read a lot of Alliester Crowley. I downloaded some of his books and from what I've read so far, they're basically really depressing. I can see how they incorporate (tool's music that is) new age ideas into their songs and I find that fascinating. I've seen tool live 3 times now and it is definitely an amazing experience. They have three large screens with unexplainable things on them. Some of their songs send chills down my spine (ie... "H" mainly) dont really know why. if you go to their website www.toolband.com , you'll find some interesting ideals that they share but mainly a bunch of nonsense... sooo try toolshed.down.net that site is filled with information about them and their beliefs.

Here is the best line, to those who don't wanna read the whole song :).
-- to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human. -- Black then white are all i see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see. as below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn beyond the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines. Black then white are all i see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see there is so much more and beckons me to look thru to these infinite possibilities. as below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend. over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind. Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line. Reaching out to embrace the random. Reaching out to embrace whatever may come. I embrace my desire to I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral to swing on the spiral to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human. With my feet upon the ground I move myeslf between the sounds and open wide to suck it in. I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going. Spiral out. Keep going. Spiral out. Keep going. Spiral out. Keep going. Spiral out. Keep going. Title: Parabola Post by: Fat_Turkey on April 17, 2003, 19:34:27 Well no S@#*!! Tool is into metaphysical stuff!
