Heya all, and welcome to Bob's Journal.
A little background:
Started having what I believe to be astral projections / out of body experiences as a kid around 5-6 years old. This went on for about a year, and then stopped. Since then, after learning what was going on, it's been an uphill battle trying to do it on purpose, with only about 20 experiences (stretched out over some 30 years) and of those ~5 being noteworthy. Have done a fair bit of lucid dreaming, and practiced meditation on and off since early 20s. Now after taking myself off the job market, and having the time, I've decided to give it a real shot and see where it leads. BTW I'm not native English speaker so bear with me. :-)
200821 - end 18:50 (UTC+2)
Was lying down with closed eyes wearing headphones listening to Robert Monroe's 1992 interview. Focus on keeping my eyes still/relaxed and relaxing face muscles. Wasn't going for any kind of experience, just listening and working a bit on relaxing. Did this thing where I try and totally forget/shutdown the body and be/focus in my head.
Fell asleep. dreamed about being on some kind of craft with a crew(in space ?), where we were controlling something remotely (combat/military vibe).
Woke up/opened my eyes but didn't move, or dreamt I woke up ? Wasn't so clear, but it was my room I saw so maybe I did wake up, idk.. With open eyes a mild vibration stage started (thinking, oh this is really strange going from being awake into VBS, what the heck is going on), accompanied by a chaotic stream of high pitched angry voices that seemed to be directed at me. My vision then started to white out, a bit of shaking/vibrations/loud noise and I popped out.
Flew up high (100-200 meters) beautiful deep blue sky, looked down, lots of trees and lawns/fields, vivid green colors all over. Flew down, wasn't able to change direction so well while flying, so bumped into things grabbed on and pushed off to change direction. Slammed into a fence surrounding a park or stadium right behind this couple, the girl had a bun/ponytail, gave it a little tab to see if she would notice it, but no reaction, no one seemed to notice me (edit: and come to think of it, there wasn't any sound either). Flew down the road surrounding the stadium/park for a bit, then woke up.
Duration less then 2 minuets.
Following my eyes felt very tired, and a heavy feeling in the head, lasted about ½ hour.
Something tells me you have a treasure trove of journal entries to entice us with! :)

To come, maybe. I can only hope :-). What little I had written down in the past was done on a phone and that got stolen, and of course no backup :-(
200903
Trying to AP. Dozed off and came to in the beginning of vibration stage, but it faded away.
200908 - end 09:50 (UTC+2) - Dream/semi lucid
Gave phasing a go after having read the first part of FRANK'S MODEL OF THE WIDER REALITY.
After a long time (guessing ~45 min) I started seeing some white lines/patterns, dozed off. Then watching a screen in my mind, that turned into me sitting on my couch in the living room watching the TV. Thought about stepping into the scene. The TV then started expanding filling my entire view, started resisting and thought I maybe had woken up. Walked to the dinner table and tried to push my hand through the top several times but couldn't, it felt very real could feel the cold granite and the texture, and my hand looked normal. At that point I was sure I was awake. The rest is a confusing blur. Walking up some stairs saw a kid lying in my bed in a big open empty room. Up some more stairs, another big empty room sister and former boyfriend sleeping in a bed, deceased family dog lying on floor sleeping, petted the dog he woke up. Fighting someone (don't know why). Woke up.
1 hour passed from lying down.
Feels like I'm going backwards, can't believe I chickened out/resisted when the TV was 'coming at me' :-(
Looking forward to read more soon :-)
200924 - start 05:15 end 06:30 - AP/lucid dream ?
Dozed off while reading a declassified CIA document about remote viewing, haven't done that since way back when, when studying for exams lol (but it was pretty boring, remote viewing is definitely not for me, or maybe it was just the way it was written). Body felt heavy, relaxed/loose and I had a slow pulsing vibration/waviness thing going on in lower legs, felt like a good time to try to AP.
Lying down wearing noise cancelling headphones and closed eyes, it was a lot easier than usual to quite down the monkey mind and I got to the point where there is this shift in consciousness (theta waves ?) pretty quick, within 5 minutes or thereabouts, dozed off for a sec. had a micro dream then drifted in and out of the shift in consciousness for some time, then "got out of body". Don't recall any vibrations or sound, but there was some white out of vision and the feeling of motion. I was in my room in the NP, and it felt like an AP.
Have had the intention of not trying anything crazy next time I "got out" since the last time, and the plan was to stay as long as possible to try and get use to being in the NP. Spend 5-10 minutes in the house standing still and looking around, picking up stuff and putting it down again, tasted/licked something but can't for the life of me remember what it was.
Opened/closed a door, pushed on the closed door with my hand, then pushed hand through the door, I still think it's pretty cool that just the thought/intent of what you want to happen has an instant effect.
Got bored of being in the house and decided it was time to have some fun, flew straight up through basement ceiling and roof, sunny outside with thin white cloud cover, got above the clouds but then started to get a little tingling in the stomach (I have a little acrophobia) so closed my eyes and kept flying up (going for broke, just to see what would happen), when I opened them again I was to high up for my liking got scared and "snapped back into my body". Opened eyes for a brief moment, was back in my room. Closed my eyes and quickly "got out" again, but this time I was outside on a madras somewhere that kinda looked like the place I lived before. The madras was beside a children's playground, there was a big sandbox (~10x10 meters) to the right of me with a wooden playhouse in bright colors and in the center a swing set, some little kids running around having fun. To the left a big lawn and then a 3 story apartment building, it was sunny but at the apartment building facade it was night, there was one room on the top floor with the lights on and two girls/young women standing at the window covering their mouth and whispering to each other, pointing down at me and giggling. They came down and one of them went into to sandbox playing with the kids the other sat down at the food of the madras with a devious smile, I closed my eyes and started meditating, the girl then sat on my legs I told her to get off, she asked why ? Because I'm meditating I said, she moved down to the food of the madras again, I continued to meditate. Then she started throwing small twigs at me, got annoyed and flew off.
Flew around the city for a while, had pretty good control could turn better this time and control the height, but hovering was a no go, noticed I was wearing a watch looked at it and it was 5:00 o'clock. Landed on a incline stone path where there was a lot of people walking, approached a cute Chinese girl walking in front of me, she was happy to see me like we knew each other, she felt very familiar to me. She invited me to dinner at her parents house, but that didn't go well at all. Was served vegetable soup, told the girl look at this waved my hand over the plate and turned it into two big square chunks of beef and one long vegetable of some kind, that didn't go over well, her dad flipped out and made it very clear I wasn't welcome there. There was a part where a Chinese man was throwing knives and meat cleavers at me (felt quite serious), I ducked/avoided them, picked them up and threw them back at him. The man was holding two chopping boards and when I hit them with the knives and cleavers he laughed at me at yelled very good, nice throw and stuff like that very strange, not sure if it was the girls father. After that my response was to fly straight into the ground to get away from there but there was too much resistance only got a few meters down. Then some guy who also felt familiar told me to 'get up here', he was up on a bamboo watch tower type building. Got up there and we then flew down through to floor from there and ended up in a martial art class with a bunch of white belts, had a conversation with the guy about my background/accomplishments in karate, guy then tells me, then this isn't for you, this is for beginners. We left the studio
and went outside (and this is where things get really strange).
At some point I looked at the watch again, and this time it was 5:40 o'clock.
While standing outside on the sidewalk I told the guy watch this, I put my hands together with the fingers spread touching the fingertips together, when I pulled them apart electric sparks started jumping between my hands, first little blue thin sparks then they got white and thicker and at 'full power' red orbs started appearing between the sparks. Some guy started harassing an old lady across the street with sparks from his hands, same kind I had just showed to the other guy. I threw some sparks his way to make him stop, then a whole group (approx. 10 people) appeared on the street from out of nowhere, some of them started yelling 'look he's like of us' (referring to me) others yelled 'no he can't be look he's got a beard', like having a beard was a very bad thing. Ran across the road to stop the guy that was attacking the elderly lady, I was incredibly angry with him. Me being angry then started affecting them like we where linked in some way, someone yelled 'he's angry, he's one of THEM, stop him', someone slapped a big metallic wristband on my left forearm and that stopped them from being affected. Went with the 'gang' or they took me with them somehow, we ended up in what looked like an ancient desert city. Was sitting down on a low stone wall and an old friendly man was doing something to the wristband, suddenly I got a feeling of déjà vu and asked the old man 'I've been through this before haven't I' ? He answered yes, but this time it's gonna end differently ? I asked him, he just smiled and kept tinkering with the wristband, like he knew exactly what was going to happen but didn't want to tell me. The old dude left and something made my anger towards the guy that had attacked the old lady come back, at that point I just wanted to hurt them all so I took the wristband off and ran right at him. But I was no match for him, while fighting him (more like him toying with me) he went on about all the types of martial arts he was an expert in and had trained for centuries, he put me in a triangle choke then told me he was my brother, and proceeded to open up my left arm from shoulder to palm and let go of me. I walked back to the stone wall hoping the old guy would be there to help me, while trying to hold the wound together, blood was pouring out, it was more black then red or very dark red, there was no pain and I was more intrigued with the color then focusing on anything else. An old guy with a staff came running and i thought yay he's going to fix me, but he was more interested in stopping the others which were now fighting among themselves. Then I finally woke up. The end.
The last part I was kinda just along for the ride. Was fully lucid through it all, but it was more like watching a movie from first person perspective then a 'normal' lucid dream/AP.
1 hour 15 minutes passed from lying down (felt like one long experience).
Following I felt refreshed.
Looks like you released some old blood (black, dark red).
201113 (Lucid dream)
I have been taking a break from trying to AP because of totally messed up sleep cycle due to too much meditation/trying to AP throughout the day. Basically not being tired at night, and pushing the time I went to bed until night and day was switched around.
Anyway, had this weird LD. It started inside a house, a bunch of young people (late teens, and a bit shadowy) coming in through the walls and door, and starting to push me around. I tried to get them to stop but that didn't work, so I picked them up by their feet and slammed them against the floor and whatever was around. It felt like picking up a piece of foam no weight at all, they broke into many pieces when hitting something and their skin disappeared as they broke, leaving bloody parts on the floor kinda like broken glass, it felt a bit cartoonish.
Flew outside and then into a old wood house (single floor) that was nearby, it was much bigger inside with many floors with a opening in the middle of them. There was some sort of party going on, people everywhere some naked/half-naked. Met a cute girl and we started making out, we tried to find a empty room but there was people everywhere. Floated up through the opening and had a look at the different floors, one was open/empty with no furniture and had 6-7 naked girls lying in a circle on the floor with legs spread apart and their feet against each other in a star pattern, others had many people and rooms and felt crowded. Floated up to the top where there was a group of older Indian men sitting on the floor, got pulled into(merged with) one of them, a short heavy-set man that seemed to be the leader/elder. He was in control and I was along for the ride, it felt pretty strange, he floated down to the ground floor and tried to show/teach me something about some small metal plates/labels on a vertical wooden beam(red numbers), I think it was dates but didn't get the meaning of it, he floated back up and we separated.
Had some fun flying around the house very fast and making sharp turns, probably the best control I've ever had :-). Went into a room with few people and started to talk with another cute girl, we began kissing and I thought we were about to get it on, but then she touched my left eye with her thumb that had some sticky stuff on it, started seeing this amazing bright twisting multicolored spiral but only with the left eye, having this only happen to one eye felt so strange that I woke up. It was like being two places at once with no connection between the two.
That's it for now, until next time!
201123 (semi lucid dream)
A crowd was standing in a circle around something I was in the back and couldn't see what it was, I wanted to see what they where looking at, but didn't want to be rude and go in front of anyone so hesitated for a while. Eventually the curiosity got the better of me, and I moved to the front. It turned out to be me in bed, was not expecting that. I interlocked fingers with the person standing behind me and leaned back on the crowd, it felt AWESOME! I slowly came too, the crowd I was leaning on turned into my bed and the holding hands into my hands with interlocked fingers resting on my stomach, so it was a very smooth transition. I felt great the rest of the day, full of energy :-)
A very short one, but absolutely wonderful!
Very beautiful! Self love and acceptance at it's finest. :-)
Thanks Nameless!
Definitely one of my favorites so far. :-)
201214 - (semi lucid dream)
Was being shown around In a messy house, crowded with young people/teens. Someone showed me to a room I could sleep in, and told me my dog was there. The dog turned out to be a grey wolf, but it felt like he was a long deceased family dog but in a wolf's body. Was taken to another room and told to sit on a chair, a big crow like "bird" with head the size of a human head told me he was going to remove something from my hair, he then started picking at my hair with his beak, I closed my eyes and let him do his thing. Then he told me to open my mouth so he could do the same to my teeth, got a little freaked out by the thought of getting picked in the teeth by a giant bird creature, I opened my mouth and closed my eyes, and prepared for the worst. Luckily it didn't hurt, instead it tickled like crazy I couldn't stop laughing, my head was buzzing with this tickle sensation that spread to the whole body. Went for a ride on the back of the "bird", had a conversation with him while flying but the only thing I can remember is that his name was Treger/Tregar or something along those lines.
Back on the ground, saw a yellow and blue "UFO" that looked a bit like a cross between an osprey and quadcopter but without rotor blades, it was hovering over some houses without a sound and spraying something down at them, while flocks of small birds were circling around it.
201219 (Lucid dream)
Lying down on my back doing my morning meditation/practicing phasing while listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd7e4SNjGBM (been using this one a lot lately).
Clicked out a few minutes after hypnagogic imagery started to appear about ½ hour in. Normally it's just white blobs, lines and tiny "stars", but this time there was a little color to the blobs, white in the center surrounded by purdy dark metallic purple (amethyst black). Clicked out a couple more times before deciding to turn on my side and take a little nap.
Became lucid while dreaming about fishing at a beach after casting out and looking down at the reel that just kept going and going, after ~20 sec. being puzzled why it didn't stop I looked out at the the sea, but the sea had turned into a hilly area, LOL. Did the "Where am I?", "Where am I going?", "How did I get here?" and "What am I doing?" from Ryan's book, been trying to "program" myself to do that for a few weeks now before going to sleep at night, so I'm happy to see that it's finally starting to work. Started to fly but next thing I know I'm on a bus, was about to fly of but settled on staying and see what would happen. No empty seats so sat down next to a girl, she began whispering to herself about people she had interacted with, what they had said, how she had responded and why she had responded that way, etc. This went on for a few minutes then I woke up.
Small progress, but progress nonetheless :-).

Very nice! :-) It has me almost asleep here in my chair, lol! Thanks for the share. That one feels like it really creating the "lulling" sensation. It's a "slow roll", but effective! :-) 8-)
I will share one that I am having great success with myself. It seems to take on more of a "mysterious" approach than it does relaxing you into submission. I like all kinds of Binaural beats, Isochronic Tones, basically any kind of Meditative music in general.

Thanks for the link! Downloaded and added to my "meditation" library :-)
Just had a very nice hour and 40 minutes session while listening to that one. After dozing off I had a sort of partial sleep paralysis, at one point it was like legs/feet, arms/hands and lower torso completely disappeared, then the head go a little bit "numb" and I started to get this pressure feeling on top of the head, tried to exit through there but no luck(it did intensify the feeling though). Is this what you describe as "exploding head" feels like ? I've experienced this before but without the pressure on top of the head, and every time upper torso and head to some degree "is always there and won't go to sleep" :-(.

It sounds familiar. But I don't really understand the need to exit during it. I just passively observe it and allow the exit to commence when it wishes to. We show that we still wish to remain in control of everything when we attempt to "force" a exit. When you are experiencing the symptoms you are, you will find that the "exit" has already begun. This is when you can set a intended destination or kick "thought = action" into play.
I was chatting with EV lately and I told him the other day, while showering, I got shampoo in my eyes. It started to burn, so I pushed gently on my eyes with my two fingers on both hands (pointer and index) to relieve the pain. Immediately I began to experience almost the same sensation that I do during one of my "exploding head" experiences. I found that this description may be the closest the at I can explain the actual sensation I get.
If you do that, apply "very gentle pressure" to your eyes only for a second or two and you will kind of see what i mean.
210106 (lucid dream)
Inside a building felt like the top floor/high up. Had sex with a "split woman", she sitting on a table/counter me standing up, but at the same time having a conversation with her standing to the right of me. Some people entered the room and she said let's go to the moon room, followed her outside and down a spiraling staircase. There where small square rooms without roofs floating in darkness along the staircase, got to the "moon room" at the bottom but it was occupied (was a bit puzzled as to why she had led me down the staircase when it was clear what rooms had people in them just from looking down from the top of the staircase).
We went back up and into the building, got the idea to test the "characters" a little, asked the girl what's 2 times 7 ? She just stood there with a blank expression on her face, asked again what's 7+7 ? After a while she answered 13 :?, tried the same with a guy in the room he answered 17 :?.
Suddenly it hit me why am I walking around when I could be flying/floating, tried to lift of the floor but no dice, felt very heavy and somehow anchored to the floor, while doing this I realized everyone in the room was staring at me like what the hell is he doing, then woke up.
Following I felt drained of energy, heavy feeling in the head almost like a headache.
That's awesome. Really interesting with the test you decided to give the characters.
Thanks tides, yeah was a nice little experience :-)
Been thinking about the test, and if I may have influenced the outcome by subconsciously wanting a wrong answer. Tried to have no expectations to the outcome but I guess I can't rule it out. Would like to try this again, but next time ask something I don't know the answer to.
It just hit me that their answers are neighboring prime numbers.

In a room with 3 beautiful woman, they wanted to have sex but I only wanted to be with one (not into group stuff). Went to a room with one of them and we started to make out, the woman then stopped and told me she wanted me to sign/make a contract saying that she would not loose her virginity before going any further. I thought that was a bit strange/contradictory but signed my name on a piece of paper, where the pen and paper came from I do not know, it was just there. The paper had raised dots all over(dimples on the other side) didn't think much about it at the time, other then it was a bit hard to write on because the pen would dip into the "holes", when I handed her the paper I asked if it was ok that the paper had all these dots on it and if only signing my name was ok ? She said it was fine, took the paper and we continued to make out. Nothing really happened after that besides more making out.
After waking up and going about my day and in the back of my mind trying to make sense of the dream it hit me, did I get tricked into signing a contract written in braille script :?
210417 (lucid dream)
Had a fun one last night.
In an apartment with a girl, she was coming on to me but instead of the usual fooling around that's getting a bit old at this point, I asked her if she wanted to go flying instead. She told me she didn't have money for a plane ticket, explained to her that this was a dream and we didn't need a plane we could just go jump out the window and fly like birds, she didn't believe me so I lifted of the floor and floated between the floor and ceiling, she seemed chocked/surprised and didn't want to fly. So instead I suggested we changed size for fun, shrunk us down to miniature size guessing about 5cm in height, it was pretty cool being on the floor next to a couch and looking underneath it, where the lower part of it started seemed like it was a couple of meters up, had fun chasing each other around in the building running between chair legs and whatnot until I woke up.
210513 (phasing sensation)
When practicing phasing up until now it's gone like this:
After 5-15 minutes the usual white/dark purple swirling patterns starts to appear, then some small white flashes in the
peripheral "vision". Eventually a big flash that turns everything white and one of two things happen: either I get "knocked
out" of the meditative state or I click out(fall asleep).
But this time was different. I finally managed to stay conscious through it while relaxed in a meditative state. As the white
faded away I felt a single pulse of tingling sensation running from head down to lower torso, kinda like a mix of the feeling
of getting the chills and the buzzing sensation of e.g. hands being asleep, but more rough and electric. Then total darkness
with some 3d feeling to it, tried to go from there but with no luck. Felt pretty good being in the darkness, total relaxation
and not a care in the world 8-)

It sounds like you did indeed pass the veil/invisible barrier between here and there. I will be speaking more on this in depth in my Doorway thread later tonight. I love that "3D void" too. It is so peaceful. It's a great place to contemplate life in general or you could just "be" and enjoy the silence. There is no "electrical" interference there at all.

:-)
Yes the silence (of the mind) there was awesome, hope to visit it soon again.
260513 (phasing practice - micro semi-LD)
Lying down in bed headphones on listening to some relaxing nature sounds.
Entered a dream state/semi-lucid dream. A entrance/door, inside a pyramid ? Me down in a gully up to my neck. A guy and girl in front of the door, everything sand colored. Throwing a couple pebbles past the guy to get his attention, he was looking through some kind of apparatus/glasses, jumping around waving hands/peace signs, girl next to him sees me, end.
Back to noticing/looking into the darkness, but the entrance/doorway remained in front of my eyes, tried zooming/going into the doorway, instead of me moving towards it, part of it came flying towards me right up in my face then faded away. Looked/focused at the remaining part trying to keep it there as long as possible and maybe get back to the dream state, it faded away after about 30 seconds, then I ended the session.
Then it hit me, is this what phasing is, going into a lucid dream from a wake state ? Is that "all" there is to it ?
Up until now I have been focusing on getting the imagery/patterns to appear when noticing, and getting past the "overload". Have I been going about this all wrong, is that just a biproduct of going into the dream/np state and not really a goal in itself ? lol I think I may have overcomplicate things (going about it kinda backwards) :-D

That makes you question what a Lucid Dream really is. When I had my severe bout with Trigeminal Neuralgia, it only really hurt when I closed my eyes. This taught me how to either learn how to lose my physical focus, using my physical eyes, as soon as possible or suffer the consequences, which in this case was stabbing electric like pain and jolts from my left temple down to my jaw. But, it also led to what they call Tibetan Dream Yoga, which is staying aware during the natural cycles of sleep, all the way into the NPRs. It gave me a whole new scope on what I have been calling Dreams all my life. Because of that, I have omitted the word Dream from my nightly affirmations. I changed it with the word "sleep", as in "I am consciously aware I am asleep, knowing I am sleeping".
Quote? lol I think I may have overcomplicate things (going about it kinda backwards) :-D
We tend to do that in this practice. One step forward, two steps back! Until one day it hits us. That's why Tom Campbell says "it is us that needs to get out of the way and allow the natural shift to occur". Every time we use a technique it teaches us a bit more each time on ways to do just that.
210605 (semi-lucid dream)
Woke up in the middle of the night, tried phasing but fell back asleep and had a lucid dream.
In a big factory of some kind everything looked old and worn down, there were many rooms and levels and I kept getting lost. Got approached by The boss and told I had to give a presentation/sales pitch, told him I was new and had no idea what was going on but he was like, you'll do fine no problem, don't remember the presentation but apparently I did good and there was a celebration in the cafeteria. Flew around the cafeteria for a little bit, back at the table I was sitting at they expressed approval of my flying, suddenly the guy sitting opposite to me shrunk down to about an inch and flew around the table. Asked him how he did that, told me he used a drug and showed me some white crystalline powder, he gave me a little to try for free (the first one is always free, lol), smoked it with a pipe handed to me by another guy and we had some fun flying while miniaturized. Back at the table again he told me something about numbers, the number 3 had to be written double size of other numbers/letters and they didn't call it three, but some strange name I can't remember. Bought a fistful of the powder for 150 which was a lifetime supply according to the guy, not a bad deal, lol.
The rest is a bit hazy. The factory started to fall apart, standing on a giant platform up high that started to plummet to the ground, but right before it hit the ground it reversed and went back up. The boss who was responsible for it falling apart tried to escape in what looked like a helicopter, I flew after him and dragged it back down :-D, and he got caught. Had a long conversation/flirted with with a cute girl (always cute girls in the NP for some reason).

We tend to do that in this practice. One step forward, two steps back! Until one day it hits us. That's why Tom Campbell says "it is us that needs to get out of the way and allow the natural shift to occur". Every time we use a technique it teaches us a bit more each time on ways to do just that.
Very true! I've changed my approach now to starting with noticing, then after getting relaxed and the patterns/colors start to appear I do a rundown. Have "switched" to the NP a few times now, but every time I've woken up soon after I become aware I'm dreaming. There also seems to be a little gap where I lose consciousness.
Bob-
Congratulations on your progress! I get the sense that you are realizing your own progression over the last year, it seems slow at times, but as I read back over your experiences within this thread I can definitely see it. You are now smoothing out the process of phasing with your relaxation and rundown routines. But it's not just there that the progress is apparent. Small aspects of each experience are shifting/changing and your focus is tightening and your overall awareness is increasing.
The gaps and click-outs as your awareness shifts into and out of these states are good signs, don't fight this; higher level teaching is likely taking place; adjustments. It feels a bit frustrating but it is actually a very good thing.
Your last experience I think was a very important step into a next higher level of learning called a 'Simulation'. These are tightly-controlled and managed areas in the NP of personal instruction which involve your personal characteristics within them, but I have noticed some general aspects such as the giant warehouse that you get lost in. The warehouse is what you interpret as the boundaries or demarcation of the Simulation's specific environment and your sensing this should be a clue to future experiences; this won't be the last one. They will build in complexity and challenge. In this one you were to address an audience without understanding the material. You apparently did this well and a celebration ensued. The celebration was sincere but also offered another lesson, the flying and the shrinking- both demonstrations of abilities only available to you in the NP. That was another success. The cute girl at the end was possibly a sexual challenge that is thrown at most of us from time to time, another small test or "pop quiz", lol! The "Boss" was possibly a guide in charge of the Simulation. Take some time to reflect on the consistency of the theme or story narrative that was presented and how this is now different from prior experiences. This is a time when things get really fun and challenging, good job!

Yes, the progress is there, however slow. Keeping a log(and the journal on here) have really helped me stick with it and realize my progress. For instance, I've noticed that my progress/successes come in groups with "dead" periods in-between, so now I kinda know what to expect and don't get discouraged so easily. Also nice to see the frequency of experiences (slowly) increase.

That's reassuring, never thought of it that way.

Great article, really interesting. I definitely will have to reread it further down the line to let everything sink in.
Like EV so eloquently said "these are teachable moments, but can only be taught at a personal level". We here on the Astral Pulse will help a person get there. There are plenty of techniques here on the Pulse that people could use as "blueprints" to tweak to a more personal nature. But there are many things a person has to experience and find out for themselves.
We could talk about a lot of this stuff until we were blue in the face. Yet, it only really makes sense to a person once they are currently experiencing. Examples of this: Go back to a Astral related source book, video, etc, that you read or listened to in the beginning of your NPR journeys. Now, the words seem to make more sense.
...and I second EV, "Congratulations" are in order here! :-) 8-)
Thanks LU! :-)
Yep, should have gone back and reread some of Frank's posts sooner, could probably have saved me a little time, live and learn..
210615 (phasing practice)
Focus on (top and center of head) going inward away from the eyes to the mental screen, but without "placing" anything on it, when I do this it feels like there is a pressure build up in the head and the hypnagogic imagery doesn't make me move focus back to the eyes so easily, so I was "chasing" that feeling. Clicked out, turned to my other side and continued, clicked out again, saw some pretty black and white geometric hypnopompic imagery after waking up, didn't move and continued to focus inward.
After some time, out of nowhere a fast loud deep WOOOOOOP sound, felt like both ears popped simultaneously and the feeling of going to a single point, or like I disappeared somehow. Immediately sat up in the bed very fast, felt rattled and had cold sweat, heavy/tired feeling in the head for about a half hour afterwards.
Didn't much care for this one, it felt very physical and like something wrong was happening. There was no choice to abort, more like a fight or flight response. But still can't help wonder what it might have led to..

It never ceases to amaze me how we can be so "mentally prepared" for the experience, yet, when it actually happens, it still takes us by surprise. I have kicked myself many times for finding myself in a fear test and then I fail it. I know better, yet it still gets me from time to time. I think it's because it comes on spontaneously and ever so quickly too. You find yourself just becoming consciously aware and things are spiraling out of control all around you. The "flight response" seems to be automatic in some scenarios. I see it as our "default mode".

Spot on IMO!
If only there had been some kind of lead in, a feeling that something was about to happen, anything! Then I might have had a chance to relax through it. But this was completely out of the blue.
This latest experience seems to fit with another step forward in your progress, at least IMO. It reads very similar to the "exploding head syndrome". It does catch you unaware and somehow unprepared for its' intensity, I experienced it a couple times early on, I think Lumaza reported it early on, and I've noticed it in others' early reporting. Maybe it has to do with some chakra or energy reconfigurations that need to take place, but I think it is a clear signpost of your continued progress.
Trust it and continue on.
210616 (trying to fall asleep)
Maybe I've been overdoing it lately, because when going to sleep I automatically went into "phase mode" tonight. Had a bunch of click out's(or rather managed to fall asleep) guessing combined amounting to around 1½ hour of sleep, at one point gave up annoyed I couldn't fall asleep so got up and drank some water, still tired so went back to bed.
And then it finally happened :-), went from awake to the NPR without any gaps, the body just kind of faded away and there I was, IN the darkness. Forward motion, went through a couple of white rotating triangle outlines, the background went to a deeper black, speed increased a lot and I flew along a trail of stars in a spiral path around them. At first it was a little to much going so fast, got that sinking feeling like on a roller coaster, gave into it and relaxed and the feeling went away. It lasted about 15 seconds then landed on a incline path up a hill on a meadow, walked up the hill to the top where there were a small flock of tiny sheep, the size of cats. Petted the cat-sheep for a while then noticed some mushrooms in the grass that looked a bit like liberty caps, was tempted to eat some but decided not to. Walked down the other side of the hill, and to my disappointment saw a ordinary brick building that looked out of place, walked around it and found myself in a city. Going down a street surrounded by young adults with backpacks on, someone calling my name but couldn't figure out where it was coming from, at some point noticed I also had a backpack on. Got to a big staircase leading into a a school of some sort I'm guessing, but didn't follow the others into the school because I wanted to go explore, only got a small distance away from the staircase before waking up.
I'm thinking it ended because I didn't follow the "script" and wanted to go do my own thing, oh well, maybe next time I'll be lucid enough to remember to go where the experience takes me.
Your conclusion sounds just about spot on to me. Great job and love reading about your progress.

It could be that it ended so you could bring a conscious recall of your experience back with you. Had you had entered the School, you might have forgotten everything that occurred. I have had to abort adventures earlier then I wished as well due to that fact. This is part of the balancing act we always speak of here.

I myself welcome it. It's a sign that the shift is occurring. All I have to do is put up with a few moments of uncomfortableness, but the reward for that patience is well worth it.
I guess you have never had a experience where you awaken in full SP and find your legs being raised. Then you are completely upside down being spun through the ceiling in your room like some kind of spinning top. ... or you stare into a candle, close your eyes and soon a vibration begins that is so wild, it's like being in the middle of Earthquake, with sounds so loud that you could swear a Helicopter was about to land on your roof. Yes, that's pretty extreme, but it can happen, I know that through first hand experience! :-o
I have posted here years ago about both of those experiences. You can find my spinning through the ceiling post in the SP sticky here on this Forum.

Like being in the middle of a earthquake with extremely loud rumble roaring sound, that I have experienced and loved it. But it didn't come on out of nowhere full blast, it was a gradual build up over a few seconds.
But when it's like someone sneaks up behind you put a gun on each side of your head and fire, that's not for me. And I don't see how it would be possible not to react to something like that.
Was trying to phase but it didn't happen, I got close a couple of times and the feeling of getting sucked in was there but
couldn't let go. instead it turned into a great meditation session that lasted a little over an hour. After ending it I had this euphoric feeling. Been a bit frustrated lately with not being able to project and with the way the world is going, that's all melted away now and I'm left with a feeling of everything is going to be ok, and a renewed faith in being able to learn to phase when the time is right. I've experienced something similar a few times before, but this was on a whole different level :-)
Awesome Bob. Nothing like getting back into the flow.
I second Nameless in that. Awesome Bob! :-)
We rarely get the experiences we "expect". But when we set the stage and pump is primed, we will get some kind of experience and that in itself is positive and definitely "progress"! :-)
:-)

Funny you should mention the flow. Been working on getting into the flow state/zone a little each day the last couple of
weeks. Dusted off my old guitar and been playing stuff I know by heart, where I can just sit down close my eyes and play
without thinking of anything, and when doing regular stuff around the house by only keeping focus on what I'm doing.
LU
Ain't that the truth! These days I'm happy with any kind of experience and view anything slightly new as progress. But I
gotta admit this one step forward two steps back is starting to get on my nerves.
211022 (Lying down listening to the latest video from DTTV Documentaries)
Dreaming. On the couch listening to the above, a little kid coming into the house running around screaming, grabbed him and walked him out of the house, then being attacked by 3 guys.
Kept having false awakenings and strong vibrations accompanied by very loud painful high pitch noise while going in and out of sleep paralysis. Hitting myself in the forehead with my palm to stay "awake" and not go back into sleep paralysis, was sure I was awake looked at my hands and touching stuff and it all seemed real. Tried flying and it worked, thought I was flying in real life, lol.
After flying around for a while I realize I'm dreaming and not in my own house anymore. It looked like something out of lord of the rings, with little dwarfs here and there. Getting attacked by a guy in a black leather duster, flew away from him
through the house and hid thinking I could surprise attack him from behind, coming around a corner somewhere up high (the attic perhaps) and there he was standing right in front of me. He came at me with a sword, picked up a sword from a nearby knight in armor statue and killed the guy, and just for good measure took a shiny war hammer (martel de fer) from the inside of his open coat and plunged the spiky end into his heart.
Did some more flying and noticed that if I pointed my palms forward I could increase speed.
Standing in a big open room a 10 feet monster appeared across the room out of nowhere, he sent a knife at me via psychokinesis or magic, held up my hand and stopped it mid air, a little battle of wills/mind power and I managed to send it back into him. But it didn't have any effect on the big dude, materialized another knife and hit him again, still no effect. He then attacked me with ice balls/rays, so logically I thought 'hey fire beats ice' so proceeded to fly around him spraying him with fire out of my mouth, like some kind of dragon :-D. He fell to the ground but was still alive, held his mouth open and breathed cold into him and that finally did him in.
Materialized a knife again just for the heck of it (playing around with my newfound power), sent it up into the ceiling
without looking and down fell this dwarf looking guy, looked up and the ceiling was full of people lying on cross beams
looking down, a couple of guys came and moved the dwarf away.
Met a cute girl, we started kissing but at some point she stopped and told me she had a fiancé, she then got swarmed by a bunch of girls. One of them pulled me aside into another room where there was a naked baby and a monkey lying in wood drawers, they both had both male and female genitalia. She then took the you know what and made them reproduce with themselves, I was shocked by what I was seeing, she put the drawers into a cabinet and they instantly started growing, that was to weird for me so I got out of there.
Found myself in a bar (still in the same building) and noticed this amazing looking fairy like bartender with a white glow
around her, she flew up to a floating table and started to clear it, I flew after her and asked her how she was able to fly
when none of the other people here could, of cause I can fly I'm a bartender she responded and flew back down. I stayed up there and thought about ordering a drink and immediately another bartender showed up asking what I would like, asked for a cocktail with whiskey and tequila but she had no idea what that was, so asked if I could sample some of the liquor they had. Sitting at a table back down at the ground waiting for the samples, this guy that felt like a brother that had been with me for most of the time just kept talking and talking, like he was a broken robot, gave him a little slap to make him snap out of it but he just kept talking. Next thing I know he's lying on the floor in some kind of box, I closed one part over his head and another part over the rest of his body, a couple of dwarfs pushed the box aside and it turned into the lower part of a table, while this is going on some guy next to me is doing running commentary like his recording the events, I remember him saying 'and then he had to put him away until a time when ... and he can be brought back again'. I felt so bad for having to lock him up that I started crying uncontrollably while my teeth was chattering like crazy, and then I woke up.
Not quite sure what to make of this one :?
211027
Lying down listening to a podcast and practicing letting go, and let my mind do it's thing without trying to focus on anything in particular other then being aware. Resulted in a short LD, after click out.
Outdoor on a sunny day beside the ocean, 10 or so one-piece wooden picnic table benches scattered around with people sitting at everyone of them, and a small kiosk nearby. Walked over to a table sat down and played around with putting my hand through the table, just to make sure I was in the NP and to see if anyone would notice it, but no one did. Said to the guy sitting next to me 'you know this is my dream right ?', he didn't believe me so I asked him if I would be able to put my hand through the table if it wasn't and demonstrated it to him. No big reaction from any of the people looking so showed them I could fly as well but still nothing, I guess they were just npc's. Slowly woke up while going over to the kiosk to get a refreshment and thinking about what to do next.
Been getting some new hypnopompic imagery in the last week or so.
Whole FOV filled with static, like on a old CRT TV with no signal, but with bigger pixels. Looked very digital and for some reason it made me feel uncomfortable.
A white light starting in upper left, getting brighter and brighter and bigger and bigger. It was as if the dynamic range had somehow gotten greatly expanded, the intensity of the light just kept increasing. It became to much so opened my eyes, took a few seconds for my vision to return to normal.
Whole FOV flashing between black and white (strobe light effect).
Solid light purple color on left side.
Vibrating head, felt like it was expanding and contracting at around 7Hz, felt a little nauseous.

Very interesting experience. A few years ago I popped my shoulder out of socket and went to the hospital to get it popped back in. Long story short, they put me on a morphine drip and then added ketamine to the mix. That knocked me out, but I was conscious the whole time just not conscious "of my body". It started with the TV fuzz that got really pixelled. I could see, hear, and feel the texture of the static. It got really chunky too. And then after this I felt as if I was in the center of my chest. I felt like I was in my soul and that life was a tiny speck of dust compared to my eternal existence. This was probably one of the most interesting experiences I've had.
Thought Id share as this is the first time I've heard someone talking about experiencing "static". At one point it felt like the static was crunching my or consuming me or something, hard to explain.
Also coming off the high, I didn't feel any social pressure or all the subtle pressures and pains of this existence right away. It gradually all came back. Like the feeling of gravity pressing on you and the uncomfort and awkwardness of being in a body with all these uncomfortable sensations and pains. And then feeling the social pressures of judgement on how people perceive you and social expectations etc... it was a very profound experience.
Your post reminded me of this experience! Really cool.
Thanks for sharing :-) thought I was going crazy for a second there, LOL. Always good to see others have had similar experiences.

This perfectly lines up with what I saw, it started with small 'pixels' then changed into bigger squares. What freaked me out a little was how artificial it looked with clean lines, 90-degree angles and the sharp contrast between the black and white.
Bob, look through this "barrier". I see these things as barriers of sorts. I have experienced all kinds of them in my projections. It's kind of like a veil, doorway or a line between here and there. It can reveal itself in many different ways. I have come across total realms that seemed to be like the lie or green level of old Tiger Woods golf games. If you remember or are familiar with those, when you approached the greens, you would get a kind of virtual reality dimensional view of lay of that green, so you could judge your next shot according to the lie. It was kind of a "panoramic" view. The trick is to stay engaged, stay aware, with 100% focus on what you are experiencing. it can be quite intense at times as well.
I remember one really bizarre reality experience years ago that I wrote about here. The view in front of me was being created by Beings that were reading my own thoughts and creating a reality that I was comfortable with. I could see the reality/view changing right before my eyes. I then asked these Beings to show what was "really" there. The area turned dark, like the Void that many of us experience, just a pure vastness and now I could see these Beings as glowing white Orbs. They had a really strange faint multicolor iridescent luminescence to them to them as well. It was a awesome experience. I thanked them and the session soon ended. I was there to just observe. To see what they wanted me to see. That's all I could have asked for! :-)
As usual, Lumaza has pointed us in the right direction. Great insight Lu!
The pixellation phenomenon can be a barrier but I think it's a natural function of learning to "tune" your awareness to the proper frequency of the new energies you are encountering. So it is a lesson that is both demonstrating the issue and challenging you on an instinctive level to make the adjustment. I run into this many times at The Monroe Institute when I am taking a new course and not getting the visuals or experiences that I am expecting.
It is likely a complex and subtle process I have yet to fully understand and probably won't anytime soon, lol.
I've had the pixellation phenomenon before, and times where there is no visual at all; my first Retrieval was like looking at a 12 inch television monitor which gradually expanded until I was 'almost' completely in the picture. In my Back to School experience, for about five seconds my vision shifted and I saw the environment as strings/wire bundles of multi-colored energy and my assistants as brilliant white energy humanoid forms.
All of this is teaching us different methods of perception. The fact that you opened this topic Bob and asked the question; the fact that PerspectiveShift responded, shows me that both of you are noticing, asking and opening to new ways of perception of these Non-Physical energies. This is all part of the learning process. Hopefully this encourages you both in your NP endeavors. This is where we start noticing much deeper insights into our experiences.
Also, this shows the benefit of reading and sharing our experiences on a forum like the Astral Pulse; we start to realize that it is not just simple, common dream themes that we have in common, but also more complex experiences are actually much more common and consistent than we once considered. This experience that Bob and Perspective both reported, is backed up and confirmed by both myself and Lumaza and of course, others.
This fact really helps to support and reinforce the credibility of our individual experiences.
Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it!
This was "only" short hypnopompic imagery, most after clicking out; a few after longer periods of sleep. I haven't yet been
able to hold on to these and turn them into something more, at most they last around a half-minute. But I'll keep it in mind and try to look through it the next time it happens.
Lu, the glowing white orbs you mentioned made me remember seeing this while being fully awake. It happened about 2 months after I started trying to project, and went on for about a week. They were always in my peripheral view and would disappear when I tried to get a better look at them, I dismissed it as just my mind playing tricks on me, but one time I could have sworn it was right there in the room with me. Has anyone else encountered this ?
EV, if it wasn't for the Astral Pulse I would probably have given up by now, it's by far the best site I have found on the
subject. Also seeing a lot of synchronicities on here, many times after having a dream or a thought about NP, I've come on here and then there just happen to be a new post related to it, blows my mind sometimes.

That sounds like you were in the fade in/fade out stage of the process. As EV said, this is where you are just beginning to match the frequency of a new reality or dimension. It often will begin as ghostly imagery, but soon will develop into a full blown Being or even a whole scenario. That's if you "allow" it to. How do you do that? You just passively observe until it is time to react. No questions, no rushing, just simply observing and allowing what is going to happen to happen.

Yes, quite a bit. At first I questioned it as my eyes or mind playing tricks on me. But now, since it has occurred so often, I just smile and say "Hello"! :-)

There are no "co-incidences" Everything happens for a reason. Good, bad or ugly, there is always a message or lesson hidden in sight!
EV, I remember the strings as well. Areas or realms that were made up of strings just floating vertically in some kind of strange suspended animation.. It gave new meaning to the term "string theory", lol. It was very bizarre.

Hey Bob, I'm enjoying the conversation. Yes I have encountered the peripheral beings many times and they often begin as orbs. With observations they can in time begin to appear as themselves. Matching frequency and all that. Like Lu stated, just say hello. That's what I do.
There are so many unobserved things in the empty space around us it is probably a good thing we can't 'see' them all the time. I don't think they 'see' us all the time either which is likely good for them as well. But we can sometimes cross the line and synchronize our energies and make new friends.
Good job Bob.

You are so right Nameless! Things are around us all the time. If people get anything out of practicing non physical/non local states of consciousness, it's a new sense or should I say "expanded" sense of awareness! :-) It's one the perks, among others, that comes with this practice! 8-)

Yes, this was in the fade out stage. I'll work on passively observing it when it happens.

Yes, quite a bit. At first I questioned it as my eyes or mind playing tricks on me. But now, since it has occurred so often, I just smile and say "Hello"! :-)

Good to know, I'll say hi to "them" if it happens again :-). NL, I agree that our limited perception of the world around us is a good thing, it would probably be to much for the brain to handle if we had a wider range of observation IMO.
220421 (two short NPE's with conscious exit)
Been on a little break from trying to project, have kept up with meditating regularly tho. But now I'm back at it, and managed to get two conscious exits last night.
1.
Slight vibration/buzzing, flying at high speed through the darkness past white narrow sections. After ~10 seconds landed on one of the sections, a wide incline street. Everything had a white bluish glow to it and it looked kinda artificial and very
clean, the people walking around were pretty big 7-8 feet tall. Was in a sitting position, tried to get up and walk but was
locked in place, took me a while to get free of what turned out to be a blue and yellow cube with rounded corners that was hovering above the ground. On top of it were 2 switches and a dial, each switch turned on an IC engine, had a bit of a laugh at the contraption (funny what the mind comes up with at times). Walked down some stairs to a more natural looking area (dirt ground, grass and trees) where there were a group of people, could hear explosions in the distance. A guy that looked to be in charge was talking on a cellphone, after he was done with the call I asked him where I was and if it was safe to be there. Apparently they were fighting some rebels/terrorists but was told it was safe to be there, while talking with him I noticed a guy near by with the head of a dog and another guy with a big head and massive square teeth, woke up.
2.
Again flying through darkness past white narrow sections, but this time there were also periods in total darkness with big
jumps/increase in speed. Found myself by a golf course, a guy approached me and asked if I wanted to play. Spend what felt like hours waiting for him to be done with the guy before me to get some golf clubs, while waiting I talked/played with a kid and his mother, never got the clubs. Some guy gave me a vape pen to try, it had the most amazing coffee flavour. Ended with me trying to get out of a industrial area, there was a big gate activated by a pressure plate that trucks would drive over to open. Tried standing on the plate to open the gate, but as soon as I got of the plate the gate would close, after a while I noticed a walkway right besides the gate, woke up going down the walkway.

Lying down listening to the latest Mysterious Universe podcast, the episode ended and I turned on the other side and continued trying to project. At one point I thought I had woken up but it felt different somehow so I tried standing up slowly hoping to get "out", after standing up I was still not sure if I was awake or not so tried flying up and it worked.
Flew up through the house then decided to go back down inside, inside again I got confused because everything was different, eventually figured out I had gone down into the wrong house so flew out onto the street.
Walking down the street somehow turned into walking inside a big mall. After trying to float and push my hands through stuff and failing to do so I got the feeling of being stuck there physically and started to panic a little, don't recall how I did
it or if it just happened but I separated from the body I was in, kinda weird seeing "me"/the body walking away like nothing happened, after that I could fly and go through stuff again.
Got approached by a girl that wanted to go to dinner with me, we ended up drinking coffee at a café with a bunch of her
girlfriends. Kept loosing my phone and finding the wrong phone in my pocket, very frustrating.
Walking around the mall suddenly a big wall of water came crashing towards the panoramic glass wall of the mall, held out my hand and pushed the water back wizard style, lol, a group of people joined in and we got the water pushed away, this happened a couple of times.
Saw a girl flying a floor up to talk to an older woman sitting at a table, flew after her and asked how she was able to do
that, the older woman said it's because she is dead and I was too, told them about AP and NP and that I was lying home in bed and certainly not dead, then corrected myself and said I won't know for sure until I wake up or not. Walked around the mall with the girl, she gave me one amazing kiss, at one point suddenly she had a kid with her and for some reason she told me not to look directly in his eyes.
Saw a guitar store and got all excited by the thought of playing without physical limitations, but of course they were closing so that was a no go, oh well I'm sure I'll get the chance eventually.
Bob, that sounded like quite the experience. Enjoyable too! :-)
I see many times in it that you were being prompted, through your phone jumping pockets and other things during your experience, to constantly maintain a conscious awareness of the happenings in the scenario. You did a great job maintaining it too. It's kind of like a ""forced grounding" of sorts.
It sounds like that Podcast kept your interest, just long enough to hold you lucid during the transition from being awake to being asleep. I listen to a lot of 3 hour and even longer Podcasts and Radio talk shows and I find that sometimes I am fighting to keep my awareness. When I nod off though, things get interesting fast!
Thanks LU, yeah this one did have a little guided/simulation feel to it, but considering how long it's been since my last
experience I'm happy with it. Was also surprised by how long it lasted, caught myself thinking 'this is probably going to end
soon' many times.
Didn't mention it but I clicked out 3-4 times while the podcast was on, to this day I've yet to stay awake through one. Also
noticed that I regularly dream about what they talk about while asleep, click out have a mini dream about something totally
unrelated to anything, rewind the podcast to the last thing I remember and continue to listen and sure enough there is the
thing I just dreamed about. So now I've made a little python program that waits 20 minutes and then plays a short message every couple of minutes prompting me to do a reality check, haven't really used it yet but I'm hoping it'll work. :-)

Reverse psychology, nice! 8-)

Many people report that their last waking thoughts and moments, seem to manifest as their first Dream scenarios. This is especially prevalent if it happens to be a talk on Lucid Dreaming, Astral Travel, Non-ordinary states of consciousness, etc.

Who knows, perhaps you have created the new go-to tech for LDing. I love experimenting, especially in the Otherwhere/Elsewhere, whatever one wishes to call it. I have used all kinds of "training wheels". Mainly, because I was hoping to find that "Magic pill". After years of countless experiments, I have found that the "Magic pill" does not exist, as of yet that is. Nothing beats the three Ps. Practice, patience and perseverance! :-)
Love this Bob. I tend to fall asleep listening to almost anything at bedtime. I've noticed if I'm listening to something like a fictional audiobook I simply fall asleep and never dream of anything in relation to the subject. However, if I listen to podcasts or mantras, meditations and such I get some very interesting results.
Hi NL :-). Come to think of it, the times I've fallen asleep watching movies I haven't noticed it effecting the dreams either. TBH I've always thought of mantras as being a little woo woo and have never used them, but didn't know just listening to them was a thing. Do you have any links to mantras in particular you would recommend for a newbie, or to some you have had good experience with ?
Mantras and meditations are essentially the same thing. Others can correct me if I am wrong. But here are two I just looked up. They are very beautiful. I highly suggest listening as you go to bed setting the volume to barely audible.
The ones I have on CD are very old, I copied them onto blanks. I no longer remember where I got them so can't provide links. I think you will like these.
LOL, I forgot the links (facepalm)

Great! Thanks for the links, I'll give them a try tonight :-)
Somewhere the other day I was reading where it's not recommended that you just call out for help from any old source when trying to project. Bcuz you can invite not so good entities. This reading said if you want to call for help address it to God or Jesus etc. It went on to say there are plenty of helpers in the astral who are aware of you doing what yr doing and will come to help without you asking.
About 50 years ago I discovered astral projection from Muldoon and Carrington's book as well as Lobsang Rampa's books. So shortly back then lying in bed sleeping I became a bit lucid and envisioned me in a basement room looking out a ground level window. Looking at two old style lanterns swinging back and forth and coming my way. Next I felt hands under my arms lifting me up. I assume it was a couple helpers trying to get me out of body. I freaked of course and they let go. I regretted this so much until I realized everybody has to go thru the fear thing.
I've had a few close obe's but have never succeeded in a real projection. Now thx to the internet and all the written stuff I'm back to trying. The other night I heard a knocking I at first thought was someone at the door-at 5am. Quickly I realized it must be my own mind reminding me to try to exteriorize. A couple days later the same thing happened.
My point-if there are these helpers out there who know you are trying to get out why don't they come to me with more help? I'm especially grateful to those who make statements that there is nothing to fear, or everybody should learn to project etc. After giving up for decades it gives me confidence.
Ah yes, the knocking on the door, sound of door being closed or someone walking around in the room, been there! And failed almost every time it has happened..
I've yet to meet any helpers or guides, so can't help you there, closest I've come was one time where it felt like someone was pulling me out of body by my legs.
If the will is there I don't think it's ever too late learn, just don't expect it to happen overnight, but it sounds like you are well on your way, and IMO there is nothing to fear.
Btw, thx for mentioning Muldoon and Carrington and Lobsang Rampa(Cyril Henry Hoskin), those are new to me.

Conscious exit, brief pitstop in the void before going down a beautiful tunnel defined by white "line segments" or ice/crystal splinters, blue all around like the colour of the sky on a clear summer day. No slowing down when approaching the ground, had to remind myself that this was NP and not to freak out and just relax, flipped from feet first to lying down right above the ground and started to go sideways while slowly spinning parallel to the ground. This went on for a while and ended with me spinning in place still floating, waited a bit to make sure the ride was over before standing up. Landscape consisted of forest, grass fields and some hills, colours were a little exaggerated as if colour saturation had been turned up, there was these blue plants with a white glow here and there as a 3-4 feet massive blade of grass. Was on a narrow path between some trees and bushes, a dog nearby sniffing around that didn't respond when trying to call it over. My attention was drawn to a couple mushroom clusters in the grass on the side of the path, didn't recognize the type but one cluster had blue-green bruising on the stipe, and just as I was about eat some I woke up :-(.
