Hi Lap
I find what helps me attain a  good level of trance [focus 10] is concentrating on the still nothingness period that occurs after the exhale.I`ve heard it reffered to as  the "eternal moment" .As I get deeper, I find this moment lasting longer than the inhale or the exhale. When I experience a phase transition of conciousness I believe it occurs from this part of the breath cycle. For me it took some practice to get to the stage where I didn`t have to THINK about it which can defeat the whole purpose of the exercise. After a while it feels quite natural.
        Happy Trails

Whatever you do, try to get to the phase where you don't feel (or even think) about your body at all.  Concentrating on how heavy/light it is can be good in the initial stages of relaxation, but the deeper you breath and relax, the more you should start to FORGET about your body.

Only then can you truly focus within on your thoughts and not on anything rooting you to this reality.
