has anyone ever been able to meet their higher self while out of body?  what form did the higher self take? an angel? male or female? god or goddess?  what kind of feelings did you have? (motherly or fatherly love, etc.)

it doesnt scare me or keep me from enjoying life, but since so many other people get the feeling, maybe there's nothing to it.  I think most people who are correct about it know about a death that will occur in a very short period of time....it was also worst when i was depressed which might explain why I have it less often -- I'm less depressed.  it isn't really paranoia because I'm not scared but it could be similar since i've had psychotic paranoia before....it really doesn't matter when I die.  I'm not scared of dying.

Two - three years ago I started having a strange and overwhelming feeling that I will die early.  I'm not really given a specific time, so some days I wasn't sure if it was just around the corner or not.  I get the feeling less often now, but from time to time I still have it.  I experienced it again a few days ago.  I'm only 18.  I feel like I will get started in life, but I could go as early as my early 30s.  This feeling will not go away.  I don't have dread or fear...just the feeling that it's going to be cut short.  In my short life I've had many unusual and difficult experiences, and I've grown tremendously at a very, very rapid pace.  Could this be why this life isn't going to be so long?

On the other hand, should I even take this seriously?  Could it be a true premonition?  My intuition has been very correct at times....I just don't know.

I see.  These medications shouldn't keep me from succeeding, then.  My short-term memory is horrible, but I can still remember dreams at times.  These medications can actually make dreams more lucid and bizarre.  I had a dream about a character from The Little Mermaid eating someone with her hair.  Really weird....

Has anyone found that psychotropic drugs are a deterrant to OBEs or astral projection?  I take:

Seroquel (antipsychotic, mood stabalizer) 100 MG morning 300 MG night
Depakote (mood stabalizer) 500 MG night
Lexapro (antidepressant) 10 MG night

do you remember the light or what it looked like at all?  is it like the light of the NDE?
#7
Of my two OBEs (or maybe one, I'm not sure about the other one -- too dreamlike) the one I remember vividly started off as a dream.  I was in a dark church, and there were candles.  The details were vague.  Then the dream stopped and the candles and church literally melted away.  I remember the light of the candles kind of streaking away....

I was then suspended in darkness as pure consciousness and I began to fly/dance, and I had the most wonderful feeling.  I thought, "I used to do this all the time!  I can't believe I forgot.  I have to start doing this again."  I never saw anything other than darkness.  And then I woke up.

Do you think this is an OBE?  Has anyone had similar experiences?

Has anyone found the use of affirmations to induce OBEs affective?

I don't think they are where we're supposed to go...just that lower realms exist where troubled souls might reside, so I am wondering if this can happen accidentally during an NDE?  Some people have hellish NDEs.
#10
Have any of you ever projected and found yourself on a hellish realm?  Do you think this could be happening to some NDE'ers who have unpleasant experiences?

James

Have any of you encountered the light during your astral journeys?  What was it like?  What did you experience?  Do you think you've encountered the same light of the NDE and what do you think the light is?

Do you think certain drugs can produce real OBEs?  If yes, how?

Also, do you think that the fact that certain sounds recorded on CDs and drugs are able to produce OBEs prove that it is some type of hallucination?  And if it isn't a hallucination, how do you think these products work?

On the other hand, even if particular sounds or drugs produce hallucinations, that doesn't mean all OBEs are fake.  So what's the difference between real OBEs and fake OBEs?

I am fascinated by astral projection, though I have not been able to achieve much success so far.  These are just a few of the questions I am interested in as I continue seeking knowledge for my path....

How have your projections affected the way you look at politics or see society and our current situations?  I'm not trying to stir up any debates; I ask because that subject is important to me, and I'm seeking insight.  If you don't want to post puclicly, you could just send a message to my inbox.

http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html

In this online book, the author deals with the problem of differences between physical reality and the OBE state.  He describes seeing some vague mass of astral matter floating in the air, and he couldn't tell what it was.  He believes these things occur because the right side of the brain (artistic side) is interpretting the experience, so to engage the left side of his brain, he mentally performed some math problems.  As he did, the mass of astral matter became clear, and he was able to tell it was a plant in his room, sitting on the dresser (not floating in the air).  Did this work because he believed it would or because the right side of the brain really was interpretting the experience until he changed the fact?  Who knows, but I think that the theory should be considered and applied as a solution to the problem.

Welcome to Dreams! / NUSO

I had an interesting dream, and I wanted some opinions on it.  It wasn't a particularly vivid dream, but it is interesting.

Someone I couldn't see was guiding me to an animal I had to ride on.  (I don't know why I needed one.)  First we came upon a pig-like animal, but it was much too small; then the person guiding me found a horse-like animal and said she would be willing to give me a ride.  It wasn't a horse, though it resembled one.  Suddenly I was on its back, and I was very high off the ground.  Then it transformed.  I didn't see the complete transformation, but it had huge bat-like wings, and it's mouth extended about 3-4 feet and resembled that of a dolphin, and I could see its teeth.  She was smiling at me.  As we began to fly I felt love coming from the being.  She was trying to telepathically communicate her name to me.  A few N names came out, like Nuso, all similar to one another, and then she communicated the feeling of the name, its essence.  I felt deep love, like she is watching over me, a loving parent.  That is the feeling of her name.  And when she sent the feeling she also sent a color: indigo.  In the dream I began to cry and told Catherine (a friend of mine in reality who has had two NDEs) "I know this spirit."  I felt like we had been together before.

QuoteYou are just one of those religious nuts that need to be silenced

I think this would go against free speech.

I was not there personally, although my best friend was there to witness it along with three others, and I don't believe she was faking it.  When she spoke to me her voice was very hoarse, and she seemed afraid.  You seem to be rigidly adhering to your belief that a person cannot be possessed.  That might be true, but I can't just discount what happened because there is some doctrine that says it doesn't.  I am thinking there could be more than one explanation for what occurred, although possession seems a possibility.

QuoteOrbs, are angels.

I don't think the orbs are angels.  They showed up about two weeks ago, and they did some experiments.  Whenever a person thinks of negative thoughts, the orbs get bigger and close to the person.  They seem to emanate from Sarah.  Also, they're smaller if no one has been in the room a long time.  The longer people are there, the more of them there are.  I don't think angels would feed off the negativity.  There are also other negative things that happened around the orbs.

I've heard laughter and other sounds when trying to protect....

Yet I've also had lots of hallucinations etc. in a normal state, so I don't know what's going on.  Maybe a combination of things.

Sometimes I start dreaming before falling asleep or continue dreaming after I wake up.  It's pretty cool.  Too bad I didn't think about turning it into a lucid dream last time it happened.

Have any of you ever learned about or interacted with negative entities on the astral plane or some other plane?  This weekend my friend was possessed by an extremely malevolent entity.  She screamed, spit in people's faces, cursed, laughed, and spoke in another language.  Sometimes her head went back and her chest rose up into the air.  It took about two hours to exorcise her.

Not only has this happened, but lately white orbs have been showing up on her camera.  They even make images on the screen move, and there is a strange video that appeared one night showing the camera moving around in circles with no one there touching it.

In her past we know of at least two instances in which some type of force manipulated physical objects around her.  This stuff is insane.  Does anyone have any advice or have an idea of what's going on?  So far I've told her to surround herself with love, friends, and positivity.  I've also been directing positive energy to her to keep away the malevolent energy.

How many realms are there above the astral?  Does anyone know?

Also, have any of you discovered useful techniques to project beyond the astral
#21
Thanks, Tish.  I have had some limited contact with them on the physical plane, but it would still be nice to confirm it on the astral as well.  Maybe they are helping me, though because I seem to be doing well, and I've asked for help.

Interesting article....

Once I had a vision of this thing, it was like this huge egg, giving off some sort of energy, and it glows pink, and it made me wonder if it was connected to UFOs.  I also had the impression that aliens are living in these huge domes in the ocean, and the next day my friend told me he dreamed about aliens (I think they were in the ocean, too, but I'm not sure) and they ate his stomach.  It could be a coincidence; I don't know.

My skeptical friend witnessed a UFO along with two other people, and my brother has seen them, too.  They really scared him, but I think he has a more open mind because of it.  My brother, who would normally not ponder any type of abstract concept, sometimes ponders them anyway because of what he has seen.

Most people just don't care.  They are comfortable not knowing anything beyond their little life and don't feel like knowing anything more because then they would have to go beyond their comfort zone.  The way I stated that sounds like I'm putting them down, but I'm not.  It's just something I've observed and sometimes marveled at.  The only time I become angry is when someone else tries to limit me or someone else in that way.

Since making efforts to lucid dream by keeping a dream journal and asking myself if I'm dreaming throughout the day, I became aware that I was dreaming in one dream, but as soon as I said "Clarity now" I woke up.  I've also found that I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night right after a dream.  I've read that people dream the last two hours they sleep, but sometimes I wake up from a more vivid dream only about 45 minutes after I've fallen asleep.  I suspect they're more vivid because I've not slept as long and am therefore more conscious.

I think I had a dream in which I was thinking about lucid dreaming, but I'm not remembering it well.  I don't know what happened, but it seems like I was having trouble converting the dream, or maybe I was only thinking I had that problem in the past.

Blocking negative thoughts/emotions isn't the solution, IMO.  The more you try to block them, hide them away, not face them, the more they build up and force you to deal with them.  If you won't express them in one way, they'll come out in some other form, usually a sinister one.  (That is why some perfectly normal people become abusive; they don't deal with their issues, and those issues find another way of expressing.)  You might find solace in talking to someone or writing about the things that are troubling you.  Express it, get it out.  As you deal with the problems and heal, you will find that the negative thoughts intrude on you less and less often.
