Yes, people, I've finally astral projected! (Feel free to disagree with my conclusions, if you think it was a mere dream or something.)

Anyhow, after two weeks of visualizing a place in my house and repeating "now I'm out-of-body," I've finally made it. Ironically, I didn't do the technique on the night this happened!

Okay, yesterday I was kind of tiered so I went to bed. I said 'now I'm out of body' three times, tried some breathing exercise for a few breaths, and tried to listen with my 'astral' ears a bit, connecting that with my third eye to make a triangle. (I think this triangle techinque can be found in the permanent topics forum.) Anyway, I did the trangle really quickly, and then went to sleep. (Actually, this is when I repeated 'now I'm out-of-body'three times.)

I found myself dreaming, and I guess I became bored and said 'now I'm out-of-body,' and I started feeling this 'inner motion'. Then, I found myself in my bed, eyes closed, but I think I could see stuff, but it was too dark, so I'm not sure. I felt my astral legs float above my physical legs, then I 'crawled' out of the rest of my body. I felt this 'pulling' motion as I got out from the rest of my body. At this point, I found myself on the floor, and I looked up at the bed, but couldn't really see it completely. It looked empty from what I saw of it (which wasn't much). Anyway, my vision wasn't that good, it was blurry and the room was dark. I said 'clarity now,' and to my surprise couldn't really hear my voice. Only a low sound came out. I started walking away from my body, and repeated my command for clarity. Now I could hear my voice better, and as I put my hand on the wood where the door was, I realized how solid this astral plane was. I was kind of surprised, it felt like I was in the physical. Then I went down the stairs and into my living room, which was a bit different than in the physical, and decided to go through a window/wall. I could feel the fabric of the curtains going through me, and a bit of resistance from the wall, but I got through it. I was in the backyard (again, a bit different than in the physical) and wondered if anyone could see me, since I was in my underwear! Then I kind of stopped paying attention to my body. Now, I found myself in a bookstore I usually go to. There were people in it and everything was vivid/clear.

Some things happened there, like me trying to fly (I just floated around a bit) and me trying to conjure up some famous person but then losing intrest. Then, as I was coming down from my floating session, I came down infront of this woman in her early twenties I think, she had longer brown hair, wavy at the ends. I told her I was astral projecting and she told me that was cool. Then I floated some more and met her again. She was talking about taking up astral projection in a month or so, I told her that she should buy/read Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce (I haven't read this book yet!) and Adventures Beyond the Body by William Buhlman (I've actually read and have this one). Then both of us went to this section. We were kneeling to take a better look at the books on a lower shelf. I helped her by finding an art (I think) book she wanted. Then, I touched her thigh. It just happened, I wasn't planning on it! Then I walked away and said 'sorry about that,' and I think she said it was okay. As I turned to go, I immedietly found myself in my body, and opened my eyes. It was around 8:40am, and I felt totally relaxed and refreshed, even though I went to bed around 1:00am.

Interestinglly, I didn't feel any vibrations before coming out-of-body, just this feeling of being energized.

Well, if you've come this far in my post, feel free to share your opinions about my experience.

::wanders off happily::

Welcome to Dreams! / any suggestions?
November 15, 2003, 15:38:18
Hey, peeps!

Well, I hope that somone can help me fix a little problem I seem to be having.

Okay, I was dreaming, and then I became lucid and tried to fly up into the air. I lifted a bit and then dropped down. Then I tried to climb some kind of wooden thing with spikes, but was too tiered and couldn't. I also tried to walk through some kind of doors, but instead was going 'around' them. Then I tried to banish some kind of an entity, and it didn't work. (Although, some other entity came and took care of it.) In another experience (which I think was an OBE) I lifted out of my body and all that good stuff, but when I tried to change the people around me in the experience, I couldn't.

So, if anyone can help me to have more control, please do!

Okay, this happened yesterday. Here it goes:

It was my second night of trying a projection exercise from Gothic Grimoire by Konstantionos. (I tried some things before, but lost hope.) Well, slowly, I fell asleep. (I think.) Then, I found myself starting to rise from my physical body, and now I was floating above it. I was aware of what was happening and was excited. Then, I was in the middle of my room trying to touch things. Then, everything around me changed and became vivid. I saw my english teacher and some other people from school in a group, doing something. Well, then I was talking or something to this kid from school, and since I was aware that I was out of body, I tried to change him into another person. Nothing happened. I think that at this point I returned to my body. (If, in fact, I was out of it!)

I personally think that this might have been a lucid dream, since when I tried to change that person from school, nothing happened!

If anyone has any theories, I'll be glad to hear them.

Okay, I think I projected, or had a lucid dream. I was surprised by this since I gave up on trying to project more than a month ago. (This happened last night, around 11:00pm or so.) Here it goes:

After being awake the whole night, and until around 2:00pm, I went to sleep. (This is not unusual, it's summer!) Anyhow, I had this long dream, which I won't bore you with, and then the dream started to repeat. In the second version, I didn't escape from the people that were running after me, like in the first version, and I found myself hiding behind something on a street (it was daytime). Then I decided to make a run for it, but one of the people who chased me was really close, and then he fell. He reached out his hand to grab me, but then I realized that I was in a dream, and felt some kind of "power" in my fists, and then I found myself floating/flying a few meters from the street floor. (It partially felt like my fists were pulling me.) Then, I saw this woman, and I said: "Hecate?" With a warm smile, the woman replied, "We'll see." Then I said, "Are you Hecate?" And right after I said that, everything turned black, and I felt a falling sensation (again, I felt my fists more than anything), and then I woke up. I somehow felt good and relaxed, like I've accomplished something.

NOTE: Hecate is a pre-Greek/Greek Goddess, and this woman I saw looked nothing like her. This woman almost looked like Martha Stewart. (In hairstyle and clothes, at least.)

So, was this a simple lucid dream, or a projection into the astral? Please comment, 'cause I want to hear what you think about all this.

So if someone isn't able to give 10 bucks, they can't join the more moderated and 'mature' forums?

That seems unfair. (But that's just me...)

Adds more:

vagary, wordiness

I can show you a lot of good books with the words you posted, but none (as of yet) with the two above.[:D]

At least we agree on the "rules can be broken" thing.[8D]

I agree with most of his words. (Except maybe the bookstore thing. They wouldn't stay open if they didn't sell enough books. Plus, most authors want to see their books in bookstores.)

As for me, I'll keep to traditional publishers. Yes it's hard to get through and stuff like that, but I think it has many more rewards (for me at least).

The AlphaOmega had nothing to say which the poster didn't already know. He also didn't offer any constructive criticism. (There's a difference between b*tching [and assuming] and offering constructive criticism which could help the author improve.)

As for the book recommendation: I've read books like that, and while they might be of help to some, they usually just keep the writer from the work at hand (which is writing). The best way to improve in my opinion is to keep writing, rewriting, and then some more writing. Reading in the field that you're writing in is also a good idea.

Reading about writing is not enough. Hell, I'll even go as far as to say that it's just damn distracting!

FreeFaller, develop the idea and just write. Worry about how good it is later, or you'll never finish the damn thing. (You might wanna make an outline if you feel that you need it.)

You obviously don't understand how hard it can be to finish a book (or even get half way through).

Excuse me? When I'm online, I usually don't pay any attention to how good my grammar or spelling is. Does that alone make me a bad writer? Hell no. (BTW, english is my second language.)

Have you even read the post? Because the poster was pretty clear that they know that this isn't a very well developed idea. The poster was very clear that it might be years from now before this idea is fisnished in the form of a book.

"I think you're gonna need it!"?? Not from you.

The AlphaOmega, maybe you should get over yourself and keep quiet unless you have something constructive to say. (Unless you like presenting yourself as an a**hole.)

Stay away from this thread until you get some constructive, Ater.

You're the only one who's getting a bit uncounstructive in this thread. Instead of acting like an adult to discuss the things I kindly brought up, you resort to attacking me.

Just to make things clear: You have no right to tell me where I should or shouldn't post. This is a public forum. You posted a thread. I had a few questions. You decided to attack me for no apparent reason. Unless you can lock the threads you don't want me to respond to, I have every right to post where ever I want.[;)]

Everything went fine until I came to this line. Why wouldn't I take the time to understand? (BTW, it's 'rantboi,' and if that's hard, just call me Ater.)

I started to remember lots of dreams by saying "I will remember" nine times aloud, and then quietly in my head until I fell asleep (or got tired of it).

Gandalf, I agree, but if his goal is to reach the 'regular' folks, he should probably take it down a notch.

Upstream, I'm not trying to be mean or anything like that. Just telling you what I think could improve your response with the more regualr folk. (If they are your goal audiance.)

-Ater

PS: I feel b*tchy.[8)]
#14
Upstream, maybe if you wrote in a more reader-friendly fashion (which might or might not include 'plain' english), more people would reply to this thread.

Unless your goal is to only have intelligent dicussions with like-minded people, and not to inform those 'plain' folks who need help with astral projection or whatever.

Just trying to see what your goal is when posting these things...

-Ater

PS: From my experince, most people aren't overly obsessed with science. On the contrary, it bores them.

I guess you could ask it in the astral then. Or poke it with something, lol.

-Ater

PS: Run Lola Run is a good movie.[8D]

Weird!

Well, that's really all I have to say since I have no idea what it means.

But, here's an idea:

Can you induce lucid dreams? If not, you should work on that. (Currently I'm using a book called Lucid Dreams in 30 Days.) Then, before you fall asleep, vow to yourself that you will ask the symbol (the baby) to say what it really means. When you become lucid, do just that. Ask it what it means, if it refuses, say that you have the power to destroy it because you created it (hopefully, since it's in  your dreams).

Good luck!

White magic? Black magic? Battle against good and evil magicians?

Grow up!!

This topic should be renamed "Ramblings of an idiot" or something to that effect.

I'm not really sure. They looked like normal people, although I didn't recognize any of them. However, I think the bookstore was closed in the physical at the time, so they were probably just some people in the astral (if they were people at all).

-Ater
#19
LOL!

I don't really know how I look in the astral; it din't occur to me to find out. Many books say that you look 'better,' or if you're older and maybe over weight, that you look younger and fitter. It's a mystery to me, for now!

-Ater

Yeah, that might be it.

I guess time will tell!

Nick - "Congratulations rantboi on your ap/obe experience!"

Thank you.[8D]

Jeff_Mash - "Now you realize why even experienced people such as myself occassionally need to double-check that they are truly out of the body, because everything is so real."

Yeah, I read about it feeling like the physical, but I never thought that it could be that much 'solid.' It surprised me, even after reading other people's experiences of the same feeling.

"I also like your description of going through the curtains and walls, because you described it EXACTLY as it feels."

Thank you! This means a lot to the writer that seems to reside in my body.[:)]

"...However, now I am thinking that it's not our voice that is the problem, but our astral hearing which isn't in tuned. Something to think about!"

That seems reasonable, although I wouldn't know since I'm a mere beginner right now. I'll try to pay attention to it when my next projection comes. (Still hoping it's soon!)

It was great!

Can't wait till it happens again (soon, hopefully)!

Wicca is a religion.

Witchcraft, on the other hand, is usually not. While many Wiccans and others like to call their religion 'witchcraft,' it's actually neo-Paganism with witchcraft and other elements thrown in. Witchcraft itself is the practice of magic by the use of charms, spells, divinations, and the such. Wicca is a religion with ethics and laws, while witchcraft is a tool that can be used for any desired purpose.

That's my view, anyway.

-Ater

PS: Wiccans who call their religion 'witchcraft' usually capitalize the 'w,' so that's a good way to know what some people are talking about.

Thanks for the input. : ) But, I still find it weird that I didn't feel ant vibrations or that I couldn't change the people at will.
