It is possible, but only after years and years of getting used to staying and holding the theta brain wave state.  It took Tom Campbell more than 3 years to get into it at will as easy as breathing, but he was taught by robert monroe and trained it ALOT!  It is possible but there is no way around the long route, just buckle up and start practicing.

I've had an encounter with a "shadow" being, it grabbed me and wouldn't let go.  Do not, under any circumstances excite your fears or shallow desires to these forms of your lesser self.  Learn to remedy this fear with love.  It is almost always a part of your subconscious fear.

One of my most consistent methods of getting out of body is the sensation of sliding, or pulling.  Sometimes it turns and rotates, but mostly in any given direction I focus slowly slipping that way.  I don't try anything sudden and jerky, just a smooth pull in a direction, it is the same mental action as when I levitate to a direction.  This gets me out 90% of the time.  Once I get a few feet away from my starting location my vision appears, its so weird to know your eyes are closed but your still looking and blinking.

I've recently had several "astral projections" awake, just meditating.  Learn how to get your brain into theta waves and your intent will control the experience from then on.  Silence your intellect and just be, if you are thinking in your head, silence them and carry on.  It is possible to have these experiences while awake and conscious with out slipping into delta waves(unconsciousness) but it takes lots of practice.  You can even parallel process different "dimensions" at the same time, being both here and "there" simultaneously(though this takes that much more practice).

And about the astral projection vs. lucid dream, the only difference is a lucid dream you have a lapse in consciousness prior to becoming aware/awake in the dream.  There is no real difference between the "location" of the experiences.  Don't be too focused on "physical" details of the terrain or location.  These states of mind have more to do with the interactions and events than specific details, hence everything is interpreted in metaphors.  Said metaphors will be filtered by your beliefs and intents.  So try to limit your beliefs or better yet, shed them completely so you can experience this in its purest translation.

Hope for nothing, fear nothing.

I had a dream not to long ago that was semi lucid, I was completely aware though.   I was in a city in a durango driving down a hill to an intersection which had a bridge above it.  Well in this dream it was flooded like 4 feet with rapids and the entire bridge had been taken down I tried to stop, looked to the left decided to try to whip it through got halfway in looked up and a huge wave bigger than the highway was crashing in, it when for as far as the eye could see left and right.  I turned around and tried to make it up the steep hill that was wet and difficult to hold track on.
I've also recently had a dream of a chaotic apocalypse I was in a warehouse and escaped to find mark twain in a truck that I jumped in. I can't recall ever seeing his image but maybe I have when I was young.  I mean he didn't tell me he was mark twain I just intuitively knew it was mark twain.  He told me some good advice about some random villager or whatever.  he said, "Its like that guy(generic name here) he wasn't anything special or had anything out of the ordinary but when faced with overwhelming odds he looked down and found what it took to go 110% until he some how pulled through it.  You see it was his will and direct attempt to give it all to a situation in order to succeed. "  Or something to that nature, it came in bits and chunks as a fluid idea it seems.  I told my brother, he said what did he look like.  My only reference I could think of and I responded, "Albert Einstein"  cause he looks like him, the man I saw in my dream.  He googled mark twain in images and he looked identical as in my dream.  And alot like albert einstein haha.

After that i had a dream about chinese or russian soldiers in our homeland, a local police officer showed up and was like "now boys i need you to listen up like it was the last day of your life, do not say a word just do as he says"  Then I hear a shot from the distance,"Get on the ground, lay down, lay down."  What shocked me was that the police officer of our turf layed down too.  The other officer that said get down, was in some kind of strange military outfit and had an assult gun.

In one of my meditations I was instantly in a womb as a baby.  Had no concept of time until I flashed out of it.  Is this the type of thing your talking about?
#7
No sexual overtones for the womb/love experience.  But for the first shadow entity thing that grabbed me it was trying to lure me in with this sexual energy, I declined and it grabbed me and started pulling me in.  It was so powerful I couldn't push away.  I had to exit the projection to get away from its menacing grip.

I too share a similar story of my own spiritual awakening if you will.  In the old days, I was religious, brain washed to follow the church and bible blindly with out question.  I skateboarded then, still do.  But I guess that introduced me to friends who smoked pot.  I smoked for a while and it opened my mind to other possibilities, also introduced me to psychedelics.  That introduced me to dimethyltryptamine(which I still haven't smoked yet) and the very same book, the Spirit Molecule.  This didn't carry too much significance for me just yet.
I was heavily injured with a broken tail bone, herniated l5, winged scapula, torn super spinatus(shoulder impingement) and all over tension.  I had forgotten how to relax, how to let go.  Life was hell every day, I wanted to be anywhere but my body.  My roommate gave me a dvd and suggested I check it out, it was a dvd on meditation.  So I watched it and followed along for the duration and by the end of it, I felt a little glimpse of relaxation, like I could breathe again.  It gave me space to live, it gave me hope.  It gave me relief that praying or religion never did.  I kept meditating, then one day...
For nearly an hour I sat in my room breathing, quieting my thoughts and letting go.  And suddenly I started vibrating on the inside, like deep with in me I could hear this buzzing.  It grew louder, I couldn't just hear it, now I could feel it pulsing through my entire body.  It consumed me and suddenly the most beautiful thing that I've ever experienced happen...
No longer was I in my room, I was in a womb!  I was a little baby with tiny baby fingers, it was dark in there but cozy.  Liquid all around.  The heart of this mother pulsed unconditional waves of love to me, every heartbeat.  I had to do NOTHING but sit there and be loved for what felt like eternity.  I was complete, I was whole and most importantly I was home.  After this experience, I snapped back into my room and my entire body felt STILLNESS.  I mean complete utter stillness like water that is ever calm, yet never stagnant.  Any thought that would come could be felt echoing through my entire being.  I could sit like that forever.   I wanted to cry because the experience was so beautiful.  This was my revelation of love.  Since then I have had a few "o.b.e.s" where I flew through my apartment and through the neighbors apartment.  Had a run in with some dark shadow beings that wanted to grab me and pull me in for whatever reason, partly my fault.  I met Mark Twain in a lucid dream, he gave me sound advice for some upcoming challenge.  Thing is, I've never seen a picture of Mark Twain before, I told my brother I saw him in my dream(I just knew it was him somehow, like I knew his presence.) and he asked me what he looked like.  I said he looked like Albert Einstein, cause he did and that was my only reference.  He googled Mark Twain and he looked EXACTLY like he did in my dream.  Now I know to love, and now I am free to live.  Good luck on your journey!

Dude, I would tread carefully if I were you.  Check out my thread about shadow beings, if you'd like to hear one of my experiences but to sum it up...  There was this presence that immediately glued to me when i first started in the projection, I reached out and felt that it was a woman, it looked all dark and shadowy.  This thing grabbed me and tried to force out sexual energy, which at first was distracting which might be why it glued so strong to me(I was reacting to it) but when I attempted to push away and not have anything to do with it, its grip got stronger.  It was pulling me in trying to consume me.  It's hands were monster like, I wasn't fearful of it but I was trying my hardest to break away and was met with equal force if not greater as I was gradually getting pulled closer.  Exiting the projection was the only way out.  I would stick to sexual things in lucid dreams if you must partake, but avoid all sexual energy in the astral for the time being as things can get very hairy.  Just my 2 cents.  Goodluck on your journeys!

I've had one experience where as soon as I entered, this shadow being like locked on to me and started coming closer.  It grabbed me and had incredible strength.  Then there was another time where I felt like 2 dark entities were close, I heard a voice that told me to leave that they are coming for me... Very strange encounters.  Try not to fear them but rather stop thinking of them entirely.   Good luck.

I've sat down and meditated in the day time, just focused on deep heavy breathing.  And I started to vibrate brilliantly, I kept going and kept going and suddenly I was in a womb.  In this womb the heart beat pulsed  unconditional love to me, all I had to do was exist and be loved.  It was the greatest thing ever.  It was odd to see myself with little pudgy baby fingers.  hah, then suddenly I was back where I was sitting down meditating.  It's the only experience I've had in that state of consciousness while completely awake and not any where near my sleep schedule.

One time I was in a hot tub for like 30 minutes, walked out quickly to go to the pool.  Before I got to the pool, I felt super dizzy, everything started fading a little bit.  And I literally watched myself at a distance wobble back in forth, I was trying so hard to yell down at my body to move and the movements I was trying to make had no effect.  It was like being disconnected, I saw myself below me helpless.  Wondering if I would fall and eat it on the concrete.  Some how I faded back in before I toppled, everybody looked at me like "yo you okay??? You looked like you were gonna pass out".   Is this like what happened to you?

The other day as I started to get out of my body, I immediately sensed the presence of another being.  As my vision started to show up, I saw that it had no real form it was just a dark humanoid type thing, the edges swirled and had no clear definition.  But immediately it moved towards me.  As it got close it grabbed me, and I put my hands out to keep space, it took the form of a female.  It seemed to want to lure me in with this sexual energy, but it's hands were clearly malicious in intent.  I admit, it's lure was enticing at first but in my better judgement I pushed away and wanted nothing to do with it, although its grip was extremely strong.  It met my push with equal force and it was pulling me closer to its face.  It became obvious my best chance of escape was exiting that state of mind.  So I woke up.  They next time I started to "project" I had a conversation before I got out with a voice that appeared to be my "guide" if you will.  It said not to come out, but I was going to anyways.  Immediately I felt like a few things were closing in on me.  He said they are coming for you, you need to leave now!  He said can you sense them and I responded yes.  I could start to see them now, he confirmed they were dark with red eyes.  And they were certainly after me.  I had no fear in any of this mind you, I was not scared however I tried to move my body to make sure I wouldn't slip into a dream state.  At first I was pinned, my head would not move, nor my arms... and eventually I broke free and was completely awake.  Any advice?  I have no idea what to think of this.  I'm not scared of it, but I certainly don't want to have to confront this every time I try to project anymore.

When I meditate for a while, with heavy relaxed deep breathes I vibrate brilliantly...  This is just in the day when I sit and meditate, not sleeping but I LOVE those vibrations.  After the vibrations are over, I feel still inside, like perfectly calm and still...  But, yeah, never open your eyes. haha  I have had so many times where I've been so close to having an obe or lucid dream from the onstart including being halfway in to the whole projection partially then to be torn back out of it because of whatever reason... sucks. haha. good luck

I had this crazy dream the other day where it felt like the apocalypse, terror and panic was everywhere.  I ran out of this building, talked to a few survivors and entered a truck in the passenger side.  What I perceived to be Mark Twain entered the drivers side.  Mind you, I've never seen a picture of Mark Twain prior to this...  So here Mark is talking to me about life.  He says, "You know, its like that guy(talking about an average joe).  It's not that he was anything special, or had any crazy talents...  He survived because deep down in his heart he knew he had to, so he gave a 110% and he did just fine.  He went that extra mile and that's what pulled him through."  Or something to that effect.
So here is where the craziness comes in.  I woke up and went to go tell my brother about this dream.  He said, "That's interesting, what did he look like?".  I responded with my best description, "Well, he kind of looked like Albert Einstein"  As good ole albert came closest to anything I could compare this man to, of which I haven't seen.   Well, he looked up pictures of Mark Twain on google images... HE LOOKED EXACTLY HOW HE DID IN MY DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY MIND = BLOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For comparison, albert pictures:

Hello everybody, this is my first post so I thought I'd open up with two of my own personal experiences.  Feel free to share your thoughts, or suggestions on this and please by all means share your experiences, as well!

My first O.B.E. finally happened on a night where everything seemed perfect for the occasion.  I had recently programmed my body to wake up after 4 or so hours, this night I had woken up and I just felt it in the atmosphere that this was going to happen.  I laid back down, my mind saturated with this idea.  It was nearly an hour before I felt my body pulling in a strange way, rapidly moving.  Suddenly I was standing in front of my door, however I never opened my eyes and I didn't get up and walk there so I knew this was a not everyday waking life.  My first thoughts were of my eyes, I blinked a few times...  Black... I was confused about whether using these eyes would wake me, because they were certainly not my physical eyes.  Once I was comfortable seeing my bedroom with these new eyes, I had the idea to flood the room with water to confirm my suspicions because at this point there was no difference between my real life room and this room.
The room turned blue, bubbles appeared, pressure became extreme.  Water was everywhere and as I did this I vibrated brilliantly inside, the same way I do after intense breathing and meditation.  I love this feeling.  With a thought the water was gone, I wanted to learn how to levitate.  So I bobbled up uncontrollably, and lowered down, almost too far into the ground... Up, up, up I thought.... Eventually I learned to control this levitation decently enough to decide to go out into the living room.  Well before I went out the door, I was almost paralyzed with fear.  At the time, everything seemed so real, and I had not gone unconscious prior to entering this experience I thought that if the other occupants saw me flying they would freak out and not know what to think of it... Trust me, if you were flying, you'd understand my thought process at the time.  After understanding that if I could fly they probably couldn't see me, I flew straight through the door.  I was met with a little resistance, but nothing too bad.  I floated down the hall way into my room mates bedroom where he laid sleeping on the couch.  He spouted in his sleep, "Hey dude I think I lost your car, sorry bro".   At this point, I was just hovering around up and down, left and right looking at things and I guess I became too inactive so I found myself in pitch blackness... I had "woken up".

My second O.B.E. was similar to the first, although my "exit" came much quicker and easier.  I laid on my stomach this time, tried to keep my mind quiet, and relaxed as much as possible.  I found this sweet spot of mental resting that found me rapidly moving towards sleep.  When I felt enough activity, that my whole body felt like it could slip away, I just pulled my body backwards with the same mind thought actions I use to levitate with...  It's a little hard to explain.  I found myself, once my vision showed up, outside my room in the hallway.  It was my plan to fly up through the apartment and out into the sky to explore.  So I levitated up to the ceiling, I put my hand on it, and tried to push through...  It was tough to get through at first but seemed once one part was through I could get my body through decently well.  My head went through and I saw the space between my ceiling and the neighbors floor upstairs... All painted white, series of two by fours or they seemed white, it was dark.  I got my head up through the floor and was looking into the apartment above mine.  I saw an older man sitting at a computer desk with an old lady leaning over his shoulder.  I kind of got stuck at that point because I stayed in between the floor and ceiling for too long.  At that time again I didn't want anybody to see me so I popped up slowly and ninja like as to not be detected.  Irrational, I know.  Anyways that about ended that experience as I guess I was too inactive.  But those are my first two, and my third... well... wasn't so pleasant.  I met a shadowy thing that grabbed me with force and was pulling me toward it... the only escape was to wake up.  Kind of my fault though.

Please share your thoughts and experiences!!
