I hope you don't mind that I'm starting a new thread, but I feel this one covers some topics that would be irrelevant to the thread I'm using this example quote from
quote:
  from Selski
I got out of my body and decided this time to look round at my physical body. I stood at the side of the bed and turned round, making my vision come on. It's really strange what I actually saw because I saw my blue chair (the chair that I was really sleeping in) - although it looked more bed-like than a chair; and I also saw my blanket all rumpled up (the blanket that I was actually covered in).

I think you could be either too little or too much attached to your ethereal "body". Probably closer to the latter in your case. This is a problem that seems to manifest itself with a lot of theoretically minded, maybe slightly naive people, who a lot of the time have the need to marry conscious awareness with a sense of existing at an absolute place in space/time. This seduces the "astral-mind" to shape itself into more of a rotating but relative
velocity-less, quantum black hole-like behaving object. That has its event horizon fanged to your physical brain. So it receives a lot more of information from the physical brain and much less from the already  manipulative astral evironment. You may think, "If my conscious brain catches most of the energy, then I don't have to worry about getting any false, or misguided information". Well that's where I believe the problem lies.Your astral "mind" gets its main energy from an organ that knows merely how to deal with a 4 dimensional reality, 3 spatial, and 1 time. And even that it has trouble
with sometimes (if you can remember the last you were high on something, be it drugs, passion, hate or compulsive obsession, you'll know what I mean [:P] ) Imagine how it will react to translating an awareness that is many times more awake, dimensionally higher etc. While being limited by its loyal, allmighty 3 dimensional thought mechanics, or being exposed to all mass moving at C (speed of light). Its parallel-less timeframe simply can not grasp the concept of an infinite time reality, that doesn't know how to play the Energy-Domino game.(I guess you can't really blame the astral for not wanting look like the geek, who plays domino instead of God-Possesion [}:)]) Especially not a much more immediately chaos theory influenced, and holographic one.You might argue that since the brain experiences the astral from such a close distance, it should be able to learn, as you project,  how to translate the information into understandable human concepts. Atleast this is what a lot of people I've spoken to assume. But they're forgetting or are unaware of one little detail. The brain itself is not along on the trip when you project out of your body. Most of what you remember didn't even enter your brain (nor did it share its dimensional properties) untill you were well back in your body. Therefore, what you remember doing is not necessarily exactly what you've actually done. In the same token, what you remember seeing is not necessarily what you might have seen etc. I know it might sound a little nihilistic but that's because it IS [:O].When dealing with translating back higher-dimensional energy, the physical brain has to make compromises, to swallow it down its relatively underdeveleped evolutionary throat. This means your physical brain is forced to change or replace some of your first-hand astral reality-experience, to make you atleast be able to conceptualize(which is something the human mind loves to do) it, and get in sync with the knowledge you and your brain already have/ know of. It just works with the tools it has got in its possesion and makes the best out of it. So it can combine truth and what I sometimes like to call pseudo-fiction, if you will. Pseudo-fiction refers to basicly two different sides of the same coin.
It's reality when we experience it first-hand in higher dimensional realms, although you may not have it placed in your conscious memory.
But it appears to be fiction, (for example non corresponding objects or events on the etheric plane with the physical plane) when the memory of the event flows through the realm that is dimensionally more limited then where the memory originated from.(when you take something away from its original habitat, it will try to adapt in order to survive) One of the area's where I think a lot of physical beings, seem to be holding themselves back is when they assume they have a fixed or absolute astral/ethereal body. And they keep focusing on it like they're participating at an ancient Chinese Water Torture benefit [xx(].And leaving without it would be a disgrace, impossible even.
This same school of thought often say nifty things like: "im Afr8 I Khent g4t b@k in2 teh
B0dy!, hehe L0L LMA0 ROFFFL!!!!!!11111oneoneonefuninthesunoneoneone" [8)]
To people who fear not being able to find their body an don't realise it's everywhere and nowhere simultaneously
You might as well be saying "I  sure hope I can find my astral body when I wake up tomorrow!" [:(]

I believe that once you enter your physical body,  the original "real" memory, if you will, stays "floating" in the astral, where of course space-time ends, so your astral-consciousness can always reach for it, if you try. That might also explain why I sometimes during a projection either hear a sight ,see a sound, feel a smell etc. that will trigger a chain-reaction of thought-waves which unlock an old memory-mine of parallel-realities out of nowhere. Anyway, I believe there's also a replica being made in the physical brain, which usually slips right in to the
subconscious. This I think is because your conscious mind has (atleast not yet) evolved enough to even spot  the memory. It simply does not have the capability needed.
That is kind of like describing a certain light frequency, to a blind person, that the human brain hasn't yet evolved in its spectrum of visible light. Like certain snakes have evolved to be able to see infra-red frequencies, that are too low on the frequency scale of the human brain ( So in a way snakes are closer to enlightenment the we are [:O])
But since we atleast are familiar with the concept of light, the memory (let's say there is one) will feel somewhat at home in the conscious mind, and your brain wouldn't need to lie to you to get the information across.
I think an astral/etheral body is what your mind (the painter) is wasting a lot of its creative indispenseble energy (water-colours) on. For example to shamanize (or shapeshift) yourself in what you'd like other entities, and/or projectors to see of yourself. If you think you're not very vain anyway, don't worry. Unless you're not a human being this process is most likely already subconsciously doing its job. I personally don't really mind Ego-feeders, and some can kind of get away with it on the physical plane. But I believe that in the astral, where cause and thought can meet effect instantly, everytime you lay an eye on your astral/ethereal body, whether you want it or not, you are subconsciously (or in some cases even consciously) focusing on what kind of image of yourself you want to present.(like a digitally manipulated smiling talk-show host). In the long run I think this leads to "mirror masking" yourself with something, everyone without a brain (literally) can tell that you tried to "help" your emotions a little bit. If you were supposed to dictate your emotions, they wouldn't be there in the first place. And since all energy that's coming your way is reflected back from your pretty mask it could possibly let you slowly devolve inside a vicious circle on the physical plane, since that is what the masses of physical humanity seems to the most ambitious about. I'm not necessarily saying that being aware of an astral/ethereal body while projecting is bad, but I do think "vacuum projection" has major adventages, even for novices in this area. If you can manage to simply be aware, and bring along as little physical replica-matter as you can, from a realm that has not evolved in this chaos-driven environment. You'll not only be able to experience a realm in every way for what it really is, but you would actually become some of it, rather than just existing inside of it. Without the physical pretenses that can chain you to the surface, that's not even really there. When you choose to (or can't help) to project with a human body replica as your frame of reference, than that's how your subconscious will treat your awareness. It simply doesn't know better. Say you're in your room where you just projected, and you're wearing your favorite cosy dogmatic-jumpdress (aka astral/etheric body). A lot of people have been known to experience objects that may resemble or morph into other objects(like beds resembling chairs), or objects that are on the wrong side of the room etc. This appears to be the result  when for example the "eyes" on your ethereal body stare at an object that's standing in front of them. Your subconscious mind knows and is very well "aware" of the information it receives from for example right behind your ethereal body. As it may have been, you could've spotted both of the objects at the same time, perhaps your subconscious mind took over for a moment (that sneaky little schmengy [:X]),and became aware of what was going on all around you. Your subconscious doesn't have a problem accepting this, since it's not worried about bodies, nobodies, single points of awareness etc. It treats them all the same, they're all equally worthless to it (it's a very democratic level of consciousness [;)]) All it cares about is sucking in and transcending as much information as it can, and portay it as vivid but abstract as possible. Without debating where it belongs, or why it's even there. This is why, while you were actually in the room you could have been seeing both of the objects simultaneously. But by the time the ethereal replica of your consciousness, collides with, gets absorbed, and translated by your physical and logical 3 dimensional, mechanical brain, (which was of course abscent from the actual event) it would simply not accept that you could be seeing two objects simultaneously. Like you would have eyes in the back of your head. It doesn't know better than that it's "physically" impossible,
Which isn't that strange considering the years of existing, studying, and verifying the laws of physics, it has been through.
So what does it make of the to itself hallucinative information it received from its replica memory, in which it knew for sure that it received the face-to-face perspective from both objects simultaneously?
It overwrites what it feels is necessary, so that it can present it to you (a 3 dimensional human being) in a manner that won't make you think you're about to get diagnosed with schizophrenia.[B)]
Which means you could have the memory of seeing different objects at the physically wrong places in your room, even if that's not what your subconscious saw the first time around. Or they could be overlapping each other, eventhough it's again not what you saw. You could push this even further by saying the code-translation of the conscious mind, is responsible for most reality-fluctuations But I don't necessarily agree with that though.
You could imagine  that during a projection your subconscious may have taken a glance outside, through the walls (but your conscious mind couldn't handle that part) which could
explain for instance a strange dog next to your bed. But then again you could ask "why was it purple?"
It could've been an overlapping from a purple shirt that was in your closset. It's somewhat out there, but I've had verifications of this "theory"
Most of the time you can't tell the difference since your conscious mind mostly stores only one reality at the time.
But if you can manage to split your consciousness at the moment of exit very quickly and spread  them from each other before they'll be able to mingle their energies. And then let each split have a slightly different emotion,(but try to have an overal theme of sorts to them, so it won't collapse in on itself) as its engine to expand it into an astral-network. Which allows you to recapture and remember every quantum detail, despite of the multiple events occurring simultaneously in space-time as well as outside of it.

Awareness is infinite, it's the
absorption, readaption and reinterpretation of it, that is causing you to think otherwise.

To me it sounds like common fluctuations in a RTZ projection. Perhaps that is what you are explaining but just in really long details?..

hmmm...I could've sworn I mentioned they were commonly reported... [8)]

[:X]...

I just used this one situation as an example. Infact one of the reasons I wrote this was to try to make these kind of fluctuations less common, since they seem the ruin the legitimacy, and often lower the level of many projections. And so in getting a better grasp at why they might occur, you could try to change or erase the elements that could be seducing them, and thereby reducing the chances of having to suffer through them. And in case you haven't figured it out yet, overlooking details and paying attiontion to them, can make all the difference in the astral, if only because the subconscious breaths on them. [;)]

quote:

I want to walk before I can run! I've just started meditation and eventually will progress to energy raising, but for now I will continue to explore the bodyless OBEs until I feel comfortable with them, and until I can retain them for longer periods.

Right, I guess that's a very wise frame of mind to have that will probably turn in your advantage eventually. Unlike myself who was violently shaken out of my astral cradle. Without getting cleanlicked or having the placenta removed beforehand, which not only made it hard for me to walk, but even when crawling my body seemed to be too slippery for the quicksand of uncontrolled and frustrated energy to pull me under. The amount, and the pure stubborness of these passionergy-waves (passion influenced energy) that wanted to all of a sudden access my consciousness simultaneously was simply too overwhelming for my little astral mind to take in all on its own. Since these were released under strongly build up pressure, which came from a long time of purposely repressing them. In order to gather enough energy, to get the astral to react on it, so it would be able to create an all-phase conducting pathway that would be able to transpose knowledge to stabilize astral matter, during a vacuum projected meditation session. (the stabilization of astral matter is something I can expand on sometime if somebody is interested)

The reason I went through this, is because at the time, my girlfriend was declared to be uncurably sick, and she desperately  worried she would lose herself in the afterlife, if she didn't stabilize her own sanctuary base in the astral. Something she could always return to, when she would need an uninterrupted energy recovery, unaffected by other entities, and influences. So that she would always have enough energy to contact those she believed to remind her of what she stood for, or who really cared about what she was going through. She was so terrified that she would turn into the kind of hopeless beings we used  to try to save from their fixed frame of reference (alot of times unsuccessfully) Who were slaves to their own subconscious, devolving into what feeds the victim they portray themselves to be. This slowly started  to turn into an serious obsession, which made matters even worse, for me as I never could've imagined the feeling of pure helplessness that put its fangs inside of me. But even more so for her. To make a long story short, for some miraculous reason she against all odds started to recover from her disease. Although she was already too far gone at this point. I've since gained a new level of understanding her suicide, but at the time I felt that eventhough I had all the space and time I always desired in the astral, I couldn't let a second pass me without it immediately spiraling back into me, pushing me into depths of the conscious where I simply couldn't possibly "spend the night" if I didn't want to trip over the her own left-over sweat and blood stains., and thus directly follow her. But I wasn't too sure about that, at that point either.

This is why I was so determined to quickly lose my body to start of with. (eventhough I couldn't even walk through astral matter  properly at this point) The way I desperately went about doing this the first time is by using this most elastic, and out of reach  part of my consciousness that I stumbled on, to my advantage. And so by entering, shortly leaving and getting sucked in again, this state of absolute revulsion and confusion of what you've let yourself become, I was slowly turning it into kinetic energy. Which started to make my frozen astral cradle move, suddenly. As soon  I sensed that I started  to gain velocity in an accelerated fashion, I didn't hesitate, for I realized this was my only chance to escape this part of myself. For a nano-second  I used up all this build up  kinetic  energy to stretch my awareness  right in front of the quickly moving wheels of the astral "cradle." When I opened my "eyes" again I realized I was being propelled out of what  has served as my main sanctuary. I enter a state of panic as if I was a yet underdeveloped fetus ripped out of its womb, and being thrown down from a canyon, having to catch up with my unbilical cord, which is thrown out a couple seconds later. All of a sudden I started to sense what seemed to be every sensation, pleasant or less pleasant, that my girlfriend went through right before she passed on. And somehow, I'm not sure how, I seemed to have been channeled some snippets from her thoughts about what she should've done differently. Through this knowledge I managed to open myself up to allow different phases to unfold for different  behaviors of astral-matter. And so I started to explore every dimensional gateway that I could now much easily sense and adapt to. As it may hold guidance, or information that was hidden away before, on how to stabilize the particular and very specific recovering sanctuary that she had in mind. Otherwise she would never be able to reach it.

It appears, I've found, that the more out of reach of a certain part of your consciousness seems to be to a process that it is deeply connected with, the further it is drifting away from your reality, (and sometimes thus enters a separate one from a different entity) and the more stabilized the procedure  seems to  evolve the mechanism, that allows separate entities, under certain conditions to share information that otherwise would be impossible to gain awareness of. So in some cases being detached from an entity, that you feel should've been a soul mate of any kind, is actually vital to the survival of the chained cord which binds each separate awareness. For it is able to transmit the passionergy (passion influenced energy) by first meeting the thought-wave from the other source, half way of the destination . Which allows all of the entities to adapt their waves, with the information they received  from their partner as a backbone, before they arrive at each other's conscious minds.
When these multiple entities are "forced" to be removed from each other, through repressed emotional barriers, or self constructed space or time in the astral, it in alot of cases makes it impossible for a save direct collision. Since that would cause too much of an instant friction reaction, when it travels a route that it's too indebt-ly committed to. If you don't have the advantage of being able to stabilize it from a distance, from which you can carefully view and study its profile, to help the subconscious discover what its mind's micro-evolution has to work on, so that it will be able escape the direct pull, of the part of consciousness that has its own reality already interwoven with it. Those parts should be avoided, and it's kind of like two highly charged nuclear "batteries" being exposed to each others + and + sides, during an abrupt close encounter. Under certain conditions,  it will backfire when it gets the chance. That's also the reason why I'm still not able to finish my girlfriend's recovering sanctuary yet, there's still too much of a direct cord, that won't allow us to astrally communicate via the subconscious, which is the only way to get unmasked messenges across for now. And as far a conscious connection goes,  I certainly won't dare to take that risk.

And about not being able to stay out very long; when you're starting out, you usually don't have a fluid connection with your physical body, from which you (atleast at first) are getting a lot of your energy. It will one moment not let much energy through at all. For example because that particular chakra might be a little more closed than another one. Which is making your subconscious think that this is the amount of energy it's going to receive today and nothing more. And then every once in a while it could send energy through a chakra that happends to be much more opened, (say you're heavily in love and  it reaches your heart-chakra) and release a sudden little burst of energy, which can overwhelm your subconscious, and it may think it is in danger of some kind. So it'll make you snap back in to your body. But you should try to make the circlulation of energy a little more consistent. You can do this in the following way; Next time you're projecting, when you're a couple of feet away from your body, just simply try to suck in energy from every one of its seven chakras, to fill up every spot on your point of awareness. Doing this requires nothing more then relaxing a little bit, looking and focussing on the individual place on the body where each chakra is located (starting from the base chakra, an ending with the crown chakra.) And then start to deeply and slowly "breath" in as much energy as you can (as if you'd have lungs that were very close to  collapsing the moment before they were dropped inside of a giant basket of oxygen filled rose peddles). While doing this try to see this energy as it enters you as well, for example as a purple or indigo electricly-charged gas cloud, that's mingling itself with your awareness. Then move your awareness a little to your side, and repeat the procedure. Eventually you'll start to see the cloudy energy-flow from your body will follow you pretty much wherever you go. And so you'll be able request a little bit of extra energy, from every point you want,  when you think your experience might end too shortly. Simply by thinking about it, while inhaling it toward you. Raising energy in the astral is much easier, and also feels more physical, than in the actual physical plane. Also when you're ready to project, just staying  in your body a little longer while being aware of the astral before you fully place your consciousness there, can help a lot. Especially if you raise energy while letting the vibrations, spread it all around and through you.

Oh and as far as barely being able to get passed the front door...have you tried turning the key? [:O]
If all else fails just go through the mail-box...although if you're projecting with a body, you might have to consider an astral diet...

First of all congratulations on your progress. I'm glad to know what I've wrote has helped you in some way.  This is a good step in the right direction of converting the astral replica of your conscious mind to a state where it can interpret most of the information it receives, before it gets interwoven with its "original" physical counterpart.Which will always try to replace, or erase essential parts of your projection, simply because it doesn't understand the "language" of the astral. And so it is forced to redirect the memory of the experience, into words and images that it associaties the event the most with. This is often way off. The more recognizable details (that are not really relevant to the experience) you feed it with, the more false hopes it will get. In other words, it'll start to believe that it is familiar and knows the language in question, when in fact it's listening to a gibberish mumbling voice on a bad LSD trip with a severe speaking disorder. So after your projection, when the minds collide, and the energy leaks over to the physical brain, it'll ask you something like: "hey I missed you in here (or maybe "couldn't you stay out a little longer?" depending on your relationship with it) "Where have you been?". And part of your answer would contain the concept of a body. It'll be like "hmmm let's see... bo...bod...body, ha there it is in my precious dictionary!" And from there on it will interpret everything else you'll try tell it, with what knowledge it has about what the body is capable of.
Since that is the one part it's got defined, and is thus the only thing it can truly trust.
No matter how hard you try to convince it, for example, that you just saw in over 360 degrees around you at the same instant in space and time, while flying astral entities used telekinesis to guide you somwhere. It probably won't accept it. Since it's not part of the language you suggested it should use. It could go something like: "Oh you mean a large group of 360 bats were circling over your head, waiting to take some blood tests". Why didn't you just say so immediately you silly little girl!?" It won't start searching or exploring for a new way of interpreting information
by itself, if you give it something it thinks it already knows so well. It'll just take the easy way out, and it will never be given the chance to evolve in creative manner, or think "outside of the box".
But you can influence it, to "experience" things from a much closer to first-hand type perspective, by
bringing it closer to the source itself, so it won't have to interprete as much.
In other words try to expand your awareness in quality and quantity.
When I was first starting out (when I was still resting in my astral cradle, doing what all cute naive points of tiny consciousness do) I came up with this little technique that I discovered  while trying to "skate on very thin ice".

The technique that has over the years proven to me (and even some of my friends) to have
worked really well. So why not share it: Project out of your body (preferably as bodyless as possible) to a nearly empty but recognizable open place/field. This should be a place that you can return to, so you can come back another time to finish where you left of. Next try to astrally place at least 8 "items" in the shape of big sphere (let's keep it 3 dimensional for now, for simplicity's sake) around your point of consciousness. These items should be things you're heavily in debt to and/or passionately desire. And if represented in the right from (which is the part the astral will take care of) are simply irresistible to you. What's also important is that the association you have with of these items, will be boiling to unfold themselves one after the other in a chain reaction, as soon as you become fully aware of them. These items can be anything you want really. They can exist in a concrete form (representations of loved ones, certain sights, pieces of music, etc.) Or in more of an abstract form (thoughts and emotions that are not dicrectly sensory related, love can be one of them). The sphere should basicly suround the whole of you, and block you from any external energies.
Try to not make the sphere infinitely huge the first time; you're not attempting to take over the universe here
(not yet anyway! [}:)]) You should be close enough to each item, so you can clearly sense every particle of energy at its associative peak, that's coming toward you. What comes next is kind of difficult to explain in words but I'll try. What you need to do is try to cover each individual item up, with an astrally tightly chained dam, so that most of the energy is held back, and you won't be able to see it. The next step involves a little trick, that every vacuum-projector (i.e.bodyless) should be able to master at some point. This is the instant-zoom manoeuvre. And since you already vacuum-projected once shortly, this shouldn't be too hard (unless of course you expect it to be) You simply focus intensely on a place ahead of you, and quickly try to sense as many of its imidiate properties or characteristics. For example imagine what it would feel, smell, taste like while sharply focusing on it, with the intend of being teleported there instantly. If you're not sure about this, try to practice it first on training ground (astral-proper). But it really shouldn't be much of problem, once you get more acquainted with the behaviour of the astral. Alright, now that you know how the
instant-zoom manoeuvre can work, you're going to it perform on one of your items (who are still covered by the their dams) in your sphere. Once you instantly arrive at your item, start raising your energy, in the same way you would if you would have a body to work with. While you try to fill every part of your awareness with energy, start letting your associations with the desires of the item take on a lead role in your energy. You will probably  feel those associated reactions, behind the dam putting pressure on your awareness by now. Don't get distracted by this, and let your subconscious slowly form its own image from your associations with the desire, behind the dam. Now do this with every other individual item as well. When you're finished doing this, lead your awareness back to the centre of the sphere again. And perform the instant-zoom manoeuvre on the item from which you experience the least amount of pressure at this point. When you arrive there, raise the energy of the desire's characteristic associations, again. The energy will now probably be manipulated and intense enough to create some holes in the dam. And this energy will have now have a singular purpose, to reach your awareness as quickly as possible. But it's important to remember that at the moment the energy escapes, you should try to immediately perform an instant-zoom manoeuvre on the next item from which you receive the least pressure. Go through this same procedure with the other items, in the shortest time that you're able to. Move very quickly (but don't forget to keep your awareness alert at all costs) from left to right, up to down, back to forth and whatever else you can come up with. Figure out what form of energy you're dealing with, tempt it, and instant-zoom to the next item. If, after you get the energy in a state to ignite itself, you succeed enough times (for the energies to blend properly) to teleport yourself to the next item before it reaches your conscious awareness, it will naturally try to mingle with the energy on the chains, that are tied to the dam on this item. Although they may repel each other at first, You'll have to try to make them "discover" that they both originated from the same source. So I've found that one way to make the energies conduct properly with these chains, is to purposely "overload" your emotional attachment bag. For example by adding an item, which represents a being you know you might possibly never sense again in any form, or manner. I realize this seems like an odd thing to do. But in the astral it appears to be the harder you try letting something float away from your awareness that you have a somewhat discrete emotional attachment to, the saltier the "tears" in the energy will be on the chains that govern the dam. Who will therefore get rusty and most likely break, before the energy vanishes.
And so your awareness has the chance to spread as rapidly it as you wish, since it's now free. And at the same time being heavily emotionally charged while colliding with every other separate point of awareness behind the broken dams.
Untill  you can eventually just let it go, when you realize that the other points of consciousness will naturally and inevitably follow you.

So the more you can expand your awareness, and the clairity of it. The more the mind stretches and aproaches the source. For a much greater part of it has now joined your projection.
And can this way share its information on a much more direct level, where basicly every piece of information, is almost instantly send over to the physical brain, since part of your consciousness is now guarding your physical body, and "correcting" any misinterpretations your physical brain makes. This is not done by having the astral actually changing the brain's mechanics. But rather by  trying to let it relate, and prepare it to receive, and interpret the information, while it's in a sense part of the astral. You can compare it to the brain being in a quantum state between the physical body and its convertion to the astral awareness. It of course never actuelly leaves the physical body, as far you care. But it can, without an actual replica being made, quantum tunnel its way in and out of it. It's both alive (physically) and dead (astrally), untill you influence it back to the state you expect it to be. Before that, there's no way to be sure, which one is correct.
So the energy will not enter the brain before its reshaped, by its manifestation in the astral.
And thus it can now begin to learn and understand that mumbling little voice, who seems to all of sudden have taken on some serious tongue-gymnastics. Although it may still stutter at times. Having a miniature astral gateway opened (that you probably didn't know you owned) of which large amounts of still unexplored energy is floating in and out of you, may at first overwelm you. This could also have been the reason, why your "point of consciousness" experience ended so quickly, and suddenly. So just give it some time to adapt. It can eventually let this energy through at any time, even if you're not projecting. Although this may it at first be hidden in somewhat sublimal messages, it should get much more serene and clear with practice (though you can always try playing the message backwards.) Depending on your commitment to sanity.

I hope you'll be able to expand on your experiences, which show some great potential.
And good "luck" on your future explorations.

Oh, and feel free to shoot.....

....if you have any questions, comments, or general outbursts.[:P]

Does anyone know more info about Virtual Reality Projection technique given by Robert Bruce? Was the idea supposed to be that you could project and go towards a poster in the room and you all of sudden are inside the poster and you could customise the poster?

The "virtual reality" projection you're referring to, is really merely a means to an end, for people who have trouble getting underneath the thick skin of a relatively low section of the astral. Although it's a process just outside the reach of the delta state aftershock vibrations. And just not far enough into the astral proper for the chaos-theory mechanics to unfold themselves (energy-domino of thought and instant effect). Which is why it takes up a little more energy, and can seem harder to manipulate astral matter in this state. It's mostly usefull for those who have either poor visualization skills, or an incomplete and consvervative belief-system of the way astral matter behaves, or can (also make yourself) behave.
It's basicly an alternative way of breaking the barriers that the conscious mind has set for itself as to what a body should be able to experience without it being physically impossible. Luckily for you, you're not as dimensionally nor as Vision-Reactionary limited as what that part of the mind will try to make you believe.
And as soon and clearly as you can convince your conscious mind of that, the quicker and less dependent on you will be on these tools.Of course it all depends on what your goals (if any) are. In my experience, if you're choosing to take the Vision-Reactionary Suggestion route, for example, by projecting into a picture, or an image of any kind, In other words letting your subconscious (which is forced to vomit out a chain reaction of your homemade suppressed sensible energy and thoughts, when it gets overfed with its favorite meal: Visual Suggestion) loose on stubborn etheric matter. For it doesn't like to get bended or messed with very much, unless of course it falls under the "spell" of someone with a huge amount of breath-passing energy. By doing this, (Visually working yourself inside of your poster for example) it will through your own orders have to pose as astral matter, a task it's obviously not cut out for.
And will thus most likely fail to hold the dam that separates  it from the subconscious. But if that's what you're after, then more power to you (unforunately not in a literal sense though)  Let's say your image destination is a physical place (a poster with a map of Saturn on it for example) Then don't be surprised if  it won't have any of the characteristics, that were portrayed on the image. Only If you'll be able to remember literally every single detail on it (If you could manage to pull that off you probably wouldn't be experimenting with this technique, so good luck with that!) you would get a legitimate projection.

In which you could place your umbrella there, and pick it up the next time you don't feel like getting astrally soaking wet. But if you won't remember the details of what exactly you've gotten yourself into (literally), it most likely won't get you into the astral-proper. But it would probably be more of a lucid dream type environment. Where anything goes but nothing lasts.
Although there is a way to "cheatingly" avoid that. For example, by splitting your consciousness in two, while one of you travels inside the image, and the other observes it carefully from the outside. Sending and sharing, every little piece of information. This includes  changes that happen in time, like an astral entity that happends to land on (or travel through) the image, while you're in it. This way you could construct a path that could bring you to your legitimate destination, by quantizing your awareness to an atomic level, and hopefully opening you up to its dimensional proportions (Although if it's a really pretty painting/picture I perhaps wouldn't have minded staying stuck on its
2-dimensional surface for a while, if only for the highly ironic soulmate-tastic quality of it.

Also don't be surprised after you projected into, for example, a picture of deceased person, start having a conversation with the person, and you all of a sudden start answering your own questions, and questioning your own answers. It's all part of what you yourself have influenced your subconscious to create. Remember that the picture is frozen in the same state it was at the the time that is was taken. And since reflecting photons, when visually frozen, and therefore without evolving association, can normally not form a consciousness in the astral. Although you of might use the picture as part of a means to an end, to provide the "musical instrument" that might be used. In most cases it can not represent the synergy needed for this kind of summoning to occur. Only the subconscious can create these rusty pulsating elements and put them in order (or disorder in some cases), to compose, (with the help of a few ephemeral conscious guides) an harmonically associable piece of intimacy.

So when people talk about a "virtual reality" projection in this context, I would really just sketch it as something like: an escalator
(to a higher destination) covered in dark matter (holding together your conscious mind way too tightly), that won't let gravity (astral matter) do its job properly. All along keeping you locked between the bounderies of your own solitary cosmos (spinning around the sub-conscious through Vision-Reactionary Suggestion.)

I recommend to not waste your vital energy by trying to outsmart the visualization skills of the subconscious mind. For it doesn't have capability to "sleep a night over it", hesitate or have mercy when its results fall back from the torn suggestion you gave birth to. Try to leave the actual visual light capturing, to something that knows which shadows it can sometimes disguise as.

If you're truly looking for a reliable and consistent "virtual projection" of any kind. Be it a physical place, seen from the etheric plane. A permanent (for as long as you keep enough energy behind the thought anyway) and returnable place in the astral-proper. Or even a deceased person you want to project to. I suggest working with a lot of association, some symbolism (to spoil the subconscious with), and a twist of flexible and non-selective imagination. You can do this while energy-rising, and/or meditating. If you want to get to a specific place, in spite of which space, time, dimension. Just try to collect as many uncontrollable emotions, sense-reminders and thoughts of that destination. And make them play catch with each other in your head. Do Try to keep each pair of contrasting emotions balanced. But don't go overboard, by  playing god, trying to "bring the forces together"
The Organic solution will most likely unfold itself soon enough as long as you keep the associations somewhat equalized. And not too compressed, like sardines being squashed in a can (it seems to suffer from a minor case of  claustrophobia I guess) Eventually you will (hopefully) sense that your associations will slowly curve in on each other, and creeping their way underneath you. You'll probably feel this enormous tention that could govern the whole of your awareness
Then comes a little bit of a tricky part. In my case by now my awareness seems to be compressed into an infinitely dense singularity. That will release itself in a burst of accelerating and flint-like passion. As soon as I emphasize, and am aware of the role that each association plays in my destination, the incredible tension will snap, and will "catapult" and shatter my consciousness in an unthinkeble quantity of different particles. And from there on I can land basicly anywhere, since I'm already there. This is also how I lost my Kundalini virginity.
Of course this is probably not the form in which everyone will experience  it, since we all have a different frames of reference. But this could give you an indication, of where you could begin or end up, searching for a certain lost astral-lung that can maybe fill up an ephemeral empty nucleus of someone that lost the memory of how to breath without annihilating its polar opposite in the astral.

I hope this helps a little...  [:I]
